Musk says 'credit is due' to Trump despite president's threat to deport him
Musk paused his criticism of the 'Big, Beautiful Bill', which is Trump's signature domestic policy plan, to hail him on his work on another matter.
The tech billionaire shared Trump's Truth Social post from Tuesday evening stating that Israel agreed to a 60-day ceasefire in Gaza, and remarked, 'Credit where credit is due'.
Musk continued early Wednesday: '@realDonaldTrump has successfully resolved several serious conflicts around the world.'
Trump's former Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) chief commended him just hours after the president issued a stark warning to Musk for opposing his bill as it was up for approval in the Senate.
The president reiterated his claim that the Tesla CEO is upset about losing benefits for electric vehicles and that 'he could lose a lot more than that'.
Asked if he would consider deporting Musk, who is a US citizen and South Africa native, Trump said, 'We'll have to take a look'.
'We might have to put DOGE on Elon,' Trump said.
'You know what DOGE is? DOGE is the monster that might have to go back and eat Elon. Wouldn't that be terrible? He gets a lot of subsidies. Elon's very upset that the EV mandate is going to be terminated.'
Late Monday, Trump wrote on Truth Social that Musk knew he was against the EV mandate and that he may get more subsidies than anyone else.
'Without subsidies, Elon would probably have to close up shop and head back home to South Africa,' Trump said.
'No more Rocket launches, Satellites, or Electric Car Production, and our Country would save a FORTUNE. Perhaps we should have DOGE take a good, hard look at this? BIG MONEY TO BE SAVED!!!'

Beside that, though, Musk held back from further ripping Trump's bill, which narrowly passed in the Senate and is being debated in the House.
'So tempting to escalate this,' Musk said. 'So, so tempting. But I will refrain for now.'
Musk and Trump's relationship went south after Musk departed the White House in late May. Since then, Trump's focus has turned away from the drama with Musk to dealing with several world conflicts including the war between Israel and Hamas, and the war between Israel and Iran.

Does anybody watch UFC and the great Dana White?' Trump asked the crowd of MAGA faithful. "We're going to have a UFC fight. We're going to have a UFC fight," Trump continued. "Think of this - on the grounds of the White House, reports All Out Fighting. "Trump added: "We have a lot of land there. We're going to build a little - we're not, Dana's going to do it, Dana's great, one of a kind - we're going to have a UFC fight, championship fight, full fight, like 20-25,000 people. " The UFC - as of yet - are yet to officially comment on Trump's comments, but White later reposted the clip of the president's announcement on X - formerly known as Twitter - seemingly confirming the event. Following the controversial suggestion, MMA enthusiasts were less than thrilled about the prospect of a UFC event at the White House. One fan expressed their dismay on social media: "The UFC has turned MMA into the most political sport on the planet. A UFC fight at the White House? @danawhite this you right? " Another shared their view that the White House should symbolise service and unity, not host a fight night, which they felt was inappropriate for its 250-year particularly disgruntled fan remarked: "Turning the White House lawn to a pay-per-view event. What a f***ing joke," while another lamented: "He cheapens everything. Really ... everything. " Amidst the criticism, one fan pitched their ideal match-up, hoping for a bout between Jon Jones and Tom Aspinall at the White House, calling it potentially the biggest fight in UFC history if Jones could be coaxed out of retirement. Since Trump's election victory in 2016, several UFC fighters have openly supported him. Speculating on who might headline this unprecedented event, fighters like Colby Covington, Michael Chandler, and Justin Gaethje, all staunch Trump supporters, would likely jump at the chance to compete at the White House.

Acting indirectly in a way that aids Russia in this conflict is consistent with President Trump's previous actions. The conclusion can only be that United States policy is to so degrade Ukraine's ability to resist that it will be forced to the negotiating table and concede to most of Vladimir Putin's territorial demands, and perhaps some of his political ones too. It looks as though Ukraine will be sacrificed in order to obtain what US commentators tell us is Donald Trump's aim of restoring good-long term relations with Russia, with the hope of weaning it off its present alliance with China. In the new world of major powers doing what they will in their own self-perceived interests, there is from the White House standpoint, logic in the Trump blow to Ukraine. But it is not in the short or long-term interests of Europe's nations to see the first war in the continent since 1945 end in a substantial victory for the aggressor. Our leaders may have lavished excessive praise on their American "Daddy 'at the Nato summit, but he is now posing a problem that requires them to get up off their knees and make sure his 'surrender Ukraine' policy is contested where it matters – with the necessary European supply of armaments to Ukraine's fighting forces. These structures are now routinely proposed to be 200m (656ft) high, and unlike previous industrial structures such as coal mines, where the pithead was often just 25m high and in a town in a valley, the new epidemic of wind turbines is already ruining, or threatening to ruin, vast tracts of Scotland's internationally renowned landscapes, from Lewis to East Sutherland, from Caithness to the Borders, from Moray to Ayrshire, from Perthshire to Argyll, and beyond. Until recently wind turbines 200m high were only considered for offshore developments, since they are about twice the size of wind turbines we already see near Stirling, Greenock or Ardrossan. Building such new gigantic structures represents a momentous industrialisation of our landscapes. Even peat uplands are being considered as possible construction sites, despite the inevitable CO2 thereby released, and applications for sites where permission had previously been refused are frequently being reconsidered. In practice the new planning policy NPF4 appears to be out of control. Other options, such as hydro, micro-hydro, tidal and solar are available in the "basket of renewables". Although sometimes more expensive to build, these in the medium and long term would surely make more sense. Avoiding onshore wind industrialisation should be a Scottish Government priority. I wonder how many of your readers know about plans to build giant turbines above Balloch (at Auchenreoch Moor), and above Dunoon, on the Bishop's Seat hilltops? The latter would affect Dunoon's status as the "Gateway to the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park". And at present, the danger is very real that, once one scheme is approved for wind industrialisation on a specific site, others will follow, changing the whole essence of the Scotland we know – and cherish. Judging by the recent letter sent to the First Minister by no fewer than 42 community campaign groups across Scotland calling for a moratorium on Scottish wind farms, and the recent unprecedented meeting of over 30 community councils in Beauly to discuss the issue, serious concern is widespread. One of the options is to close Cowcaddens fire station, while "maintaining ownership of the neighbouring Maitland Street site for future development". "Future development" has the ghastly sound of still more student flat boxes on the site at the expense of the city centre fire station.
