BBC launches probe into Strictly cocaine use after claims stars took drug and it was widely discussed on show

BBC has now had to launch four separate inquiries over the past year into claims of misconduct STRICTLY COKE SCANDAL BBC launches probe into Strictly cocaine use after claims stars took drug and it was widely discussed on show THE BBC has hired a law firm to probe damning allegations of cocaine abuse on Strictly Come Dancing by two stars. It is said their drug use was 'well known' on the show. The show is facing a fresh crisis after the shocking drugs allegations were made in a legal submission to the BBC in March by law firm Russells on behalf of celebrity contestant Wynne Evans. It is understood others have also reported to the BBC allegations of drug taking on Strictly Come Dancing. A BBC spokesman told The Sun on Sunday yesterday: 'We have clear protocols and policies in place for dealing with any serious complaint raised with us. Advertisement 'We would always encourage people to speak to us if they have concerns. 'Off their face' 'It would not be appropriate for us to comment further.' The latest stunning claims include one of Strictly Come Dancing's stars allegedly saying to a celebrity about another person on the show: 'Have you seen their pupils . . . they're off their face'. A celebrity is also said to have revealed it was 'well known on the show that two stars took cocaine . . . it was talked about widely among the cast'. Advertisement A source said yesterday: 'These claims are extremely serious and should be taken as such. "Given only last year that the BBC's Director-General promised to clean up Strictly, it seems particularly shocking. Furious Wynne Evans reveals he's no longer speaking to Strictly's Katya Jones as he hits out at BBC 'The idea of the show's stars discussing drug-taking is deeply disturbing. 'The BBC have known about these allegations for some time, and acknowledged receiving them. Advertisement 'Now they are taking firm action. They've been told that it's well-known that two stars took drugs, including cocaine, which was talked about widely among the cast. 'Also, the BBC has been told that one star described another as being 'off their face' on drugs. 'It was alleged the star said to another celebrity about a third person on the show: 'Have you seen their pupils . . . they're off their face'.' We are not naming the stars who are accused of drug-taking. Advertisement The Corporation is under enormous pressure to take these on-record allegations seriously Source News of the inquiry comes 14 months after a probe was launched into claims of misconduct by professional dancer Giovanni Pernice, who was later forced to step down amid bullying allegations. It means the BBC has now had to launch four separate inquiries over the past year into claims of misconduct. Others have been drawn into allegations of bullying on the BBC Breakfast show and dozens of claims of misconduct by Gregg Wallace, who has since been sacked as host of MasterChef. The source went on: 'The BBC pledged to clean up its act and bolster its duty-of-care measures. Advertisement 'The Corporation is under enormous pressure to take these on-record allegations seriously in order to continually improve and monitor its welfare protocol ahead of the new series. 'No one wants to see the show's image damaged, but it's imperative that people are treated fairly and complaints of bad behaviour taken seriously. 'These allegations are extremely serious and the BBC will not brush them under the carpet. 'Lies and cover-ups' 'They need to protect the image of the show and make sure contestants feel safe and protected at all times. It is, after all, supposed to be a family show.' Advertisement Worried Strictly chiefs are determined to deliver a trouble-free new show — as preparations have already started for the production of the upcoming 23rd series. In January opera singer Evans — famous for his role in the Go Compare TV ads — was axed from the Strictly live tour after he was recorded making an inappropriate sexual comment to co-star Jamie Borthwick using the term 'spit-roast'. In May, in an emotional Instagram message, Evans revealed he had been told by the BBC they were not renewing his one-year contract — which included him working with Gavin & Stacey actress Joanna Page on travel show All at Sea. It came despite both public and private support from Janette Manrara —who was said to be the subject of the spit-roast comment — as well as her husband Aljaz Skorjanec and Wynne's Strictly pro dance partner Katya Jones. Advertisement Last week angry Evans blasted the BBC for 'lies and cover-ups' — claiming that the Corporation had been 'fundamentally flawed in its duty of care to him'. These allegations are extremely serious and the BBC will not brush them under the carpet Source He also accused bosses of 'only caring about protecting themselves and their jobs and ratings'. In April The Sun on Sunday revealed EastEnders actor Borthwick had filmed a video of himself messing around with a sex toy in a Strictly Come Dancing live tour dressing room. He was later suspended by the Beeb over a slur against disabled people which was made on the Strictly set. Advertisement Last year the BBC was beset with numerous crises on Strictly. Sherlock and Mr Selfridge actress Amanda Abbington revealed she had been diagnosed with PTSD after being paired with Pernice. Despite repeated claims against the Italian dancer from former partners including Laura Whitmore, the BBC did not take action until Amanda employed lawyers and issued a formal complaint. The Corporation found in her favour on a number of claims concerning verbal bullying and harassment by Pernice. Advertisement Claims also emerged of fellow Italian Graziano Di Prima kicking his celebrity partner Zara McDermott, forcing Beeb bosses to fire him on the spot. As a result of the investigation — first revealed by The Sun — the Corporation's Director-General Tim Davie made an unprecedented apology to anyone who had suffered abusive behaviour during their time on the hit Saturday night programme.

Love Island hunk slammed by model ex as ‘serial sh****r' after claims he was dating TWELVE girls before entering villa

Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) ROGUE Love Island hunk Harry Cooksley has been labelled a 'serial sh**ger' by an ex who claims he was involved with TWELVE girls in the run-up to the show. The gold dealer and semi-pro footballer, 30, had the quickest Hideaway sleepover ever after he spent the night with air hostess Helena Ford just 56 hours into the ITV2 series — even though they were not coupled up. The woman, who did not want to be named, added that she has been contacted by 'about 12 women' over social media who, like her, thought they were in a relationship with Harry at different times over the past year. She also revealed that his most recent former flame, Emma Munro — who sensationally joined the villa as a bombshell four weeks into the series — still has her clothes in his wardrobe at home despite their break-up and him bringing other girls back there. 'Badly treated' The ex, a model in her 20s, said: 'I am actually distraught about it all. I have been really struggling to get through this. 'I thought we were serious and now I cannot get over how much he can do this to girls and get away with it. He is a serial sh**ger and the way he has treated me and others is disgusting The ex 'The amount of women he has hurt is unbelievable. 'We have all linked up over social media and there are just more and more coming forward to say how badly they've been treated. 'A few of us were led to believe we were in exclusive relationships with him. 'Others he was just dating or hooking up with casually. It's disgusting.' She added: 'I am really worried about the women currently on the show. Love Island star Harry's shock comment to Shakira revealed - just hours after going exclusive with Helena 'He is a serial sh**ger and the way he has treated me and others is disgusting. 'I just really hope he doesn't get the platform to be on Love Island until the final. 'He doesn't deserve it.' When it was revealed in June that Harry was going to be in the villa, some women took to social media to express their shock. One, Emilia Clark, said: 'He liked me on [dating app] Hinge two weeks ago.' Another with the name fitbritbill said: 'Harry took my sister-in-law out for a date about eight weeks ago and couldn't pay for it. 'Let's hope they don't charge for drinks in the villa — haha.' One more, under the name Lcy_brooks, wrote: 'Do we know who has access to Harry's online banking so he can pay my friend back for the drinks he owes her from their date.' 'Daisyflolamb' added: 'That's funny because he was also exclusively dating my friend for the past seven months. Someone give Harry a calculator cos the math ain't mathing???' Another alleged he had split with their pal days before Love Island started, claiming it was because he was going to Bali. They said: 'Don't forget they broke up on Wednesday & he told her he was going to BALI.' One of Emma Munro's friends claimed that her clothes are still hanging in the wardrobe at his home. They said: 'Her whole side of the wardrobe is still full, yet he has girls in her bed.' 4 Harry turns his affections on banking exec Yasmin Credit: Shutterstock Editorial 4 Footie star locks lips with his ex Emma in a surprise villa twist Credit: Shutterstock Editorial She also flagged this to the ex-girlfriend, who told us. Meanwhile, on the show, viewers first saw Harry get close to model Shakira Khan, 22, as they cuddled and kissed on camera. But then, within 24 hours, he disappeared into the Hideaway with blonde air hostess Helena, 29. The Hideaway lets couples share a bed, with no one else in the same room, unlike in the rest of the villa. Afterwards, the pair insisted they had shared just a 'PG kiss' and a cuddle. Even then, Harry was still telling others that he felt something for Shakira and that he thought she had 'more substance' than Helena, who he had just coupled up with. He also flirted heavily with the villa's new arrival, Angel Swift, telling her: 'I'm very attracted to you.' Eventually, all the girls turned on Harry, accusing him of messing with Helena's feelings after he dumped her. But he did not appear put off as this week he re-coupled with Shakira. And the pair have now been shown sharing a bed, kissing and cuddling together. On Tuesday's show, Harry apologised to Helena's parents on the segment where contestants' families are briefly brought into the villa to see their loved ones. Can that be seen as progress? It might be the best we can hope for.

A source said: 'There was talk at one time of them trying to take a holiday together without the children. Patrick suggested going back to Rome to spend quality time together. But they struggled to make it happen as she couldn't find a time in her busy schedule. It was a real shame because they have special memories of the city. 'It also felt like a make or break trip as they were struggling with their marriage.' Cat, 48, and Northern Irish former comedian Patrick, 54, moved back to the UK from LA in 2020 to start a new life with their two children. But for almost two years, Patrick has been spending most of his time hosting The Late Late Show in Dublin while his wife has been presenting ITV's This Morning in London with Ben Shephard. They have been renovating a five-bed North London house while renting with sons Milo, eight, and James, six. But the insider added: 'They have had difficult conversations about the future, even if that means selling. They called it their forever home but that isn't how it's turned out.' Meanwhile, Patrick's family in Dundrum, Co Down, feel Cat should have attended his mum Mary's funeral in March. She stayed in London with their children. A family source said: 'There was surprise that she didn't turn up. Cat Deeley and Patrick Kielty reveal split after 13 years of marriage 'In Northern Ireland, people always turn out at family funerals — respect is a big thing here.' The Sun on Sunday asked Cat and Patrick's representatives for comment. 4 Patrick suggested a weekend away in Rome, where they married in 2012 Credit: Getty
