Buzz Feed08-04-2025
1. A weighted fitness hoop that EVERYONE — but especially '90s kids — will love for the throwback feel of playground fun but with the added bonus of a great workout. (Suggested music pairing is the '90s boy band of your choice.) This one gives a 360-degree massage while you work the attached soft weight ball through its circuit.
Amazon, www.amazon.com
Promising review:"I saw these on TikTok, and I wanted to try it because I HATE working out. But y'all — I received mine today, and it was so easy AND SO FUN. I can feel it working because it makes my whole body tired when I stop. Very easy to put together, and it's easier than an actual fitness hoop. I was skeptical at first because I always buy workout stuff, then shove it in my closet and never use it again — but I can already tell I'm going to use this every day. I love it, and I'm excited to start seeing results. 🥰🥰" — Mookie
Get it from Amazon for $39.99 (available in five colors).
2. Or, if you prefer the classic hoop without the ball, a weighted fitness hoop, which will target muscles in your hips, abs, and legs for a workout that is as effective as it is FUN! (I'm adding this to my cart to see if my elementary school first-place hoop contest ribbon has carried over any powers into my adulthood.) This also breaks down into eight storable pieces so you don't have to keep it intact in your workout area if you don't have the space.
Promising review:"I love this product — yes, I wish they just made an all-black one to keep it from getting dirty, but I just use a wipe to wipe it down. Other than that, for the first day, I did it for 15 minutes, and I was sweating a lot! It's not too heavy, and I can say it was actually fun! Just trying to keep the hoop up motivates you to keep going. I already recommended it to all of my friends!" — Mel
Get it from Amazon for $39.49 (available in two sizes).
3. A reversible yoga mat that is nonslip, lightweight, and comes with a free downloadable yoga workout! Reviewers in all stages of yoga practice love this mat for the cushion and excellent texture that keeps your workout from turning into a solo slip-and-slide competition.
Promising review:"I am new to yoga, and after reading many reviews, I decided on the Gaiam yoga mat. It is just the right thickness for comfort on the knees and back, thanks to the nice texture and material of the mat I have had no problems with slipping. The smell is normal of what would be expected of a new product of this type of material, not overwhelming, though I would recommend washing it before use. The delightful solid green is a great pick-me-up itself, the lighter green on the opposite side is a refreshing change of atmosphere. The Gaiam mat has been a great addition to my yoga experience; on account of the above-mentioned qualities, I wake up looking forward to starting my day here. I am very happy with the affordable price and quality of this mat, it has become one of my favorite places to be!" — Adrienne P. Kitchens
"This is a great size as most yoga mats are just my height, and I'd like a little more room. The mat is also a bit wider. Very nice cushion. Stability-wise, you give up just a bit for the extra cushion, and for my almost 70-year-old body, I'll take the cushioning. This mat makes me look forward to a workout." — Dan Doviddio
Get it from Amazon for $25+ (available in four sizes and six colors).

www.amazon.com
Promising review:"The first time I used them, I felt the burn (the good kind) in the back/neck area. I looked up a diagram of musculature online, and it corresponded precisely with the trapezius muscles. I know that a product can't cure laziness, but knowing that I'm doing push-ups the right way and being able to feel the results makes me want to do more push-ups." — mcba

Amazon, www.amazon.com
And I can't forget to mention one of the coolest features: It has a dumbbell rack at the bottom that fits 1-pound, 2-pound, and 3-pound weights. How cool is that?!?
Promising review:"I'll be honest...I bought this on a whim and then didn't put it together for months. I almost returned it because I hadn't used it, but I'm so glad I didn't. I LOVE THIS BARRE. I look forward to using it every day (and I really don't care to work out generally). It's so fun to use, and you can find so many barre classes online for FREE. I love everything about it. I'm a beginner, but it makes me feel like a pro. I WFH, so I'm sitting all day. I even put it on low height and work up a sweat while I'm sitting on hold for 20 minutes. It's a great workout, great stress reliever, and it's hella fun." — Jawja W.
"2020 was a very frustrating year for many but I went through several personal issues that were causing me to have a lot of built-up frustration. I decided to cancel my gym membership and was searching for something to get me motivated to workout at home. This set is amazing for someone who is a beginner! www.amazon.com, www.amazon.com
Promising review:"I love this wheel, and I received it less than a week ago! I was worried at first since being close to 200 pounds, I didn't think it could hold my weight, but it does very well. I have lower back pain and have been to a chiropractor, physical therapist, and have taken pain meds, but this is the only thing that has brought me the quickest pain relief. I actually look forward to getting up in the morning and using this to relieve the tension in my lower back. I do feel with the other methods I've tried that, I'm healing, but I am certain that this wheel has been the most effective pain relief for me. I use this wheel in combination with some exercises specifically for lower back pain relief. I've used this for less than a week, and I feel close to how I felt before suffering from lower back pain. I would recommend this to anyone. I also plan to continue to use this as part of my daily stretching routine even after my back heals." — klt

This bike makes exercising something to look forward to doing. The rides are so interesting and varied. Love that the two of us are able to save each of our own stats, as we each like different themes. Another feature we like is the fact that the bike simulates the ride you are watching. Additionally, if the going gets too hard on my knees, the bike lets me change it for a more comfortable ride. All in all, I would highly recommend the NordicTrack Commercial Studio Cycle. It's a fun way to exercise." — MMB

It's like doing jumping jacks. I set it up last week, began jumping this week, and can easily do 300 reps of jumps, in addition to other exercises for arms that I perform. I love this thing. This is the second pair I bought, I bought them for my daughter-in-law. We Kangoo together. Everyone stops us to ask about them. I wish there were places to go learn and workout near me like there are in other states. They're easy on your knees, too. All you need is a little balance and anyone at any age can do this. www.amazon.com
Promising review:"I am not one to take time to write a review, but I LOVE THIS! It takes a few minutes to get used to the balance, but I walk in a backward motion on it all the time now. I seem to go faster and smoother in a reverse motion. It had a slight squeak when I first got it, but no longer, it's quiet and so compact. I jump on anytime and watch TV or Netflix. I've exercised on and off my whole life, this is by far my favorite machine ever!! I look forward to getting on and catching up with the news or whatever is on TV, but not just sitting there and being able to exercise at the same time is so easy now. Promising review:"Like other reviews stated, it does exactly what it claims. I've had this product for around two years now, and it's still in great shape. It was used daily as my roommates and I would all use it, so it is pretty reliable. I was never big into pullups but buying this product gave me the motivation to finally start doing pull-ups. I've done all types of hanging core/ab exercises and pull-ups on it, and it is pretty stable, as long as you don't do any fast jerking movements that cause the safety bar to lift off the back of the door frame. A set of dumbbells and the Iron Gym Bar is all you need to get a nice workout in when you can't make it to the gym." — Roger

Newlyweds Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez are back home in Miami. We have details

The Bezoses are backkk. One of the most famous couples on the planet returned home to Miami after their over the top, star-studded wedding in Venice last month. Jeff Bezos and his new bride Lauren Sanchez were spotted grabbing dinner Tuesday night at AVIV at 1 Hotel South Beach, TMZ first reported. The high end Israeli restaurant, with James Beard winning chef Michael Solomonov running the kitchen, is only about seven miles from the pair's massive compound in Indian Creek Village. We reached out to the eatery to find out their order but did not immediately hear back. Signature items include mezze such as warm stuffed dates, mains like grouper with fried shallots and baklava for dessert. Though fellow guests told the outlet they were dining one-on-one, a security detail was in tow. Since there were no pictures provided of the outing, we're not sure if Bezos is still sporting his signature, bald look. After Italy, the newlyweds traveled to Sun Valley, Idaho, for the Allen & Co. conference, aka billionaires' summer camp, where pap pics showed the Amazon founder rocking a decent amount of white hair. The 61-year-old Palmetto alum has been shaving his head for more than 10 years.

Does the 4-2-1 Method Actually Deliver? Here's How You Can Structure Your Workouts for Real Results.

"Hearst Magazines and Yahoo may earn commission or revenue on some items through these links." TIKTOK MIGHT BE entertaining—more than two billion global users can't be all wrong—but it's also one of the greatest compendia of misguided and dangerous fitness advice ever created. After all, it's the birthplace of dry scooping, the land of wildly impractical fitness gear, and the home of workout plans so extreme that they can harm your physical and mental health (we're looking at you, 75 Hard Challenge). But every once in a while, the algorithm surfaces a real, solid fitness trend—a nugget of exercise wisdom so effective that it deserves to go viral. Most recently, that jewel is the 4-2-1 Method. What Is the 4-2-1 Method? The 4-2-1 Method is actually very simple. The trend describes a system for structuring your weekly workouts (i.e., a training split) that is as simple as it is effective. Each week consists of four days of strength training, two days of cardio, and one day of mobility. The program's goal is to maximize muscle building while dialing up fat burning to help you sculpt a fitter, more defined physique as quickly as possible. As much as fitness influencers like to believe they're finding new ways to work out, this type of training split is not new. Trainers and coaches have been using it for decades to maximize gains and performance in their clients and athletes. What makes it fresh and exciting today is its explosion on TikTok, which has presented this structure to the masses with some novel twists to keep things interesting. For a social media platform that typically deals in absurd and harmful fitness trends, the 4-2-1 Method is a pleasant surprise. If you do the math, you'll note that the 4-2-1 Method has you doing something every day of the week, with only a single day designated for recovery/mobility. That means it's tough, and better suited to veterans than newbies—but that shouldn't worry you. If you follow the programming advice in the next section, the 4-2-1 Method can give you consistent gains with enough recovery time to minimize your risk of overtraining. How to Crush the 4-2-1 Method Before we get into the four days of strength training, let's first discuss the two days of cardio. These workouts should skew towards 30 to 40 minutes of low-intensity steady-state (LISS) training (e.g., distance running, rowing, swimming, cycling). Your goal should be to maintain a pace that's challenging, but still conversational for the whole workout (if you can only gasp out a few words at a time, you're going too fast and need to dial it back). If your fitness level is high, you can make one of those cardio sessions HIIT—but start with LISS. This approach will allow you to crank up your calorie furnace and improve your cardiovascular fitness while still allowing you to recover sufficiently between strength workouts to attack them with intensity. That last part is key—your cardio sessions need to break up your strength training. Trying to plow through four straight days of strength workouts followed by two days of cardio will short-shrift your muscular gains. In practice, that means your workout week might look something like this: Monday: Strength Tuesday: Strength Wednesday: Cardio Thursday: Strength Friday: Strength Saturday: Cardio Sunday: Mobility What should you do on your strength days? That's where the fun comes in, because your choices abound. One of our favorite options is a push/pull/legs/total body split, in which you devote one day to pushing exercises, one day to pulling exercises, one day to leg exercises, and a final day to a total body workout. Another strong choice is to alternate between upper body and lower body days. Check out How to Build a Comprehensive Workout Plan for more training split ideas. That brings us to the final element of the 4-2-1 Method: mobility day. This final 'workout' of your week is a workout in name only. You should feel challenged as you run through a series of exercises that push your range of motion and boost your suppleness, but you should not feel like you're 'working out.' In other words, this session should leave you relaxed, rejuvenated, and ready for another week of 4-2-1. These mobility exercises are a great place to start. So is yoga. How to Find the Right Balance for You If a seven-day-a-week fitness plan sounds a bit too intense (because you're bouncing back from an injury or just beginning your fitness journey, for example)—extend it out to eight, nine, or 10 days by weaving in one or two or three days of rest. Indeed, inject as many as you need to feel like you're able to perform at your peak and push your limits during each 4-2-1 cycle. That said, it's also important to push yourself out of your comfort zone. As you become stronger, reach for heavier weights, perform more advanced exercise variations, and generally tweak your routine to constantly challenge yourself. That strategy (known as progressive overload) is the key to consistent gains, fewer plateaus, and your strongest, leanest, fittest body ever. Kylie Jenner Goes Makeup-Free and Gives Beauty Advice to 7-Year-Old Stormi in Sweet Video

The Gist Kylie Jenner went makeup-free in a GRWM video with her 7-year-old daughter Stormi. The mother-daughter duo got all dolled up, as Stormi shared her favorite things from their trip to Greece. Jenner also imparted some inspiration beauty advice on her daughter, saying, "Mommy always tells you, 'You're the most beautiful without makeup.'"Kylie Jenner's adorable daughter Stormi just reached a new major milestone: her first GRWM video. The 7-year-old and her makeup mogul mom had the sweetest mommy-and-me time, where they got all dolled up while Jenner imparted some inspirational beauty advice. The pair started their TikTok bare-faced with radiant skin. After introducing themselves as each other, the Khy founder put her arm around her bundle of joy and said, "We're going to do our first-ever makeup tutorial together," while Stormi let out a cute laugh. They both started with Jenner's new Kylie Cosmetics Lip Butter, which Stormi noted is "really glossy." Stormi moved onto blush, while Jenner got started with foundation. "Stormi likes to play with my makeup sometimes but obviously she doesn't wear makeup yet," the 27-year-old explained. Next up for Stormi was mascara, which her mom kindly helped her apply. "We are in Greece," Stormi shared. "I love the boat that we were on. I love the food, I love the water. The water's so warm." The mom-of-two smiled wide while continuing her full beat and asked, "Do you like having sleepovers with mommy every night?" to which Stormi replied, "Yes!" Stormi added touches of highlighter, remarking, "Perfect," as she blended it in. Jenner watched her lovingly, saying, "You are so cute." The reality TV star then gave some advice, saying, "Mommy always tells you, 'You're the most beautiful without makeup.'" The girls added some blush, and then Jenner went in with lip liner, eyeshadow, an eyebrow pencil, and highlighter, when Stormi sassily said, "Now we're just waiting on mommy to finish." The duo revealed their final looks and cuddled up. Stormi and Jenner have surely been enjoying their time in the Mediterranean. The other day, Jenner shared a heart-warming video of them dancing on a yacht in matching robes. "built-in bestie for life ♾️," Jenner captioned the post, set to the tune of Tavares's "Heaven Must Be Missing an Angel." Before that, the model and her mini-me were in Italy, where they enjoyed a lush courtyard, glamorous pool, and fresh pizza. Read the original article on InStyle Solve the daily Crossword
