Wedding news for major Coronation Street couple as the big day grows near
Dev left his beloved corner shop in the hands of his son Aadi (Adam Hussain) while he was away, and it turns out that the young entrepreneur isn't going to be winning any businessman of the year awards any time soon.
In fact on his watch the business has run up £12k of debts.
Not wanting to admit to his dad that he made a mess of things, Aadi staged a robbery, getting Brody Michaelis (Ryan Mulvey) to pretend to steal cash from the shop so he could claim on the insurance.
Bernie quickly realised there was something suspicious about this 'robbery,' and under pressure Aadi admitted what was going on. For the sake of Aadi's relationship with Dev and Brody's with Kit (Jacob Roberts), Bernie agreed not to go to the police.
When Dev, newly arrived back in Weatherfield, hears about the robbery he's sympathetic and reassures Aadi that the most important thing is that he's safe. He says he did the right thing by handing the money over and not risking himself by trying any heroics.
Aadi responds that at least the insurance company have confirmed that they'll cover the loss. Again, eagle-eyed Bernie notices that Aadi looks shifty and she realises he's not telling the truth. Aadi admits to her that he missed an insurance payment and they aren't covered for the fake robbery. They won't get a penny.

Bernie tries to think of a solution to this problem, and a plan neatly presents itself when Dev tells her that one of his aunts is giving the £25k towards their wedding. More Trending
After all, Dev doesn't do weddings on the cheap as anyone who recalls his 2004 wedding to Sunita (Shobna Gulati), when he arrived on a white horse, will know.
Realising this sum would nicely plug the gap that Aadi has created, Bernie makes a suggestion that they should bring the wedding forward.

Will Dev agree? And would he still agree if he knew what was behind Bernie's apparent keenness to tie the knot at the earliest opportunity?

Danny Dyer and Stephen Graham join for Adolescence-like show
EastEnders star Danny Dyer and Stephen Graham are reportedly putting their heads together for a show based on issues affecting society in the modern day. The new drama promises to be "gritty" and "unflinching" in its approach, according to an insider. A post shared by Netflix UK & Ireland (@netflixuk) Talking with The Mirror, the source said: "They are currently thrashing out what they want to do. It'll be in the vein of Adolescence. Something unflinching and moving.' Adolescence, which was co-created and co-written by This Is England favourite Stephen Graham, recently broke records when it premiered on Netflix, seeing it become the most-watched show of the year. The Four-part series starts with the arrest of 13-year-old Jamie (played by Owen Cooper) when armed police storm the family home. Over the course of the show, it explores misogyny among teenage boys. The Last time Graham and EastEnders star Danny Dyer worked together was all the way back in 2009, when they both starred in the British slapstick horror film Doghouse. Previously, Danny called on Stephen to get him involved in one of his projects and praised Adolesence. Danny said: 'It's such an important subject, but the fact they're doing it in one take. As an actor and being part of that world I find it f****** incredible. "So, Steve, you've got to roll me into something. I want a bit of this!'

Wearing a stunning silver dress, Lorraine swept back her blonde hair and couldn't stop smiling as she posed in a silver and white gown. Completing the look with silver shoes and a simple pair of dangly earrings, Lorraine was clearly ready for a night of fun. Lorraine revealed in May that she had undergone a gastric sleeve procedure amid speculation her weight loss was down to popular jabs like Ozempic, which have become a common way to shed weight quickly. A gastric sleeve is a weight loss procedure that removes a significant portion of the stomach, creating a smaller, sleeve-shaped pouch. In March, she revealed that she had lost five stone in total, after embracing a new healthier 'clean living' lifestyle and hiring a personal trainer. She has since been showing off her slender figure at events, as well as TikTok videos with her 10-year-old daughter. Lorraine has also said she is getting back in the saddle when it comes to auditions after leaving EastEnders after seven years. The actress admitted to her followers that she was being "highly critical" as she "struggled" with having to try out for new jobs after a long time of working on one project. She said: "I'll get there, it's a struggle watching yourself back & not being highly critical on yourself... just let it go & send it."
