Meghan Markle admits to 'mistakes' as she juggles podcast, lifestyle brand, and podcast in busy year
The duchess, 43, said her heavy workload has forced her to realize 'she's not going to get it right' every single day.
Meghan's hectic year includes the release of her Netflix series With Love, Meghan; the launch of her company As Ever; and now her Lemonada podcast.
Business chic: Meghan addressed the difficulties surrounding her new ventures while speaking at the TIME100 Summit in New York City on Wednesday
Each of her endeavors has been plagued with snags, and now she has addressed the backlash she faced while speaking at the TIME100 Summit in New York City on Wednesday.
Meghan arrived at the summit with her husband, Prince Harry, and looked business chic in a $5,000 Ralph Lauren suit.
She wore tan, wide-leg silk pants and a matching blazer from the brand.
Underneath the trendy jacket, she wore a white button down top that she tucked into the loose-fitting pants.
The mother of two paired the look with a $180 Veronica Beard brown belt and $495 Stuart Weitzman suede heels.
She accessorized with a $28,000 Cartier gold watch and a pair of gold hoop earrings that appear to be Balenciaga.
Meghan left her long brown hair, which appeared to have a red tint, in loose waves around her face.
The former royal admitted that while releasing 'three products at the same time,' she decided to 'give herself the space and grace to make mistakes' as she 'knows she's not going to get it right' every single day.
'There were three projects that we were launching really at the same time. The past year-and-a-half have been incredibly busy and ambitious,' she said.
'Then you see it all come to life and try to give yourself the space and the grace to make mistakes, to know you're not doing it right every day.'
She also confessed that she had trepidations before making her new series because she feared it would turn into a 'reality show' about her life.
'I said, "How are we going to do a cooking show or a crafting show that doesn't feel like a typical stand and stir [show]," which we all remember from back in the day,' she explained.
'I didn't necessarily want to do that and I didn't want a reality show.'
Meghan added that being a mom to her young kids Archie, five, and Lilibet, three, often puts things in perspective for her.
'Something that is seemingly so big somehow becomes so microscopic in importance compared to what's happening with my children,' she explained.
When asked how she handles being under a 'microscope' and facing immense 'scrutiny,' the 43-year-old explained that she has made a 'very conscious effort to create boundaries for herself, her wellbeing, and mental health.'
She added that it's especially important for her to be a good 'role model' so she can 'raise a very strong and confident young woman.'
'But also having son, I think that is just as paramount,' she continued.
'[It's important] for young men to be raised with a confidence and sense of self that is going to empower the women around them too.
'So I try to model that behavior, but again, it starts with whatever's going on internally.
'I am able to just tune out whatever that noise is, really not give it any credence.'
Her series With Love, Meghan - which saw her and several of her famous friends in the kitchen as they prepared elaborate recipes and created home decor items - premiered last month on the streaming service.
But it was greeted immediately by negative reviews from critics and viewers alike.
The launch of her company As Ever was also plagued by problems as some customers were left disappointed after their orders were canceled due to overselling.
In addition, it was revealed earlier this week that Meghan has tried to land an A-lister like Beyonce and Taylor Swift for her new female empowerment podcast, which is reportedly already in crisis after just three episodes.
'No one's picking up the phone,' one source close to the production claimed, adding: 'The show is not landing.'
'There's no Taylor Swift. No Beyonce. Not even a Hailey Bieber. And when you're pitching female empowerment, that's a problem.'
'It speaks volumes for her pulling power. She's not happy about her lack of appeal.'
Meghan interviewed Bumble founder Whitney Wolfe Herd on the debut episode of the Duchess of Sussex 's new Lemonada podcast, Confessions of a Female Founder.
Her second instalment was with Reshma Saujani, founder of Girls Who Code, and today's episode was with her friend, hair colorist Kadi Lee, whose company the former Suits star has also invested in.
A source close to the making of the show said she and her team 'dialed all the big names' to join her for 'honest conversations with women who've built from the ground up, faced challenges and kept going.'
But these calls have been quietly ignored, RadarOnline said.
So instead of household names or cultural icons, Meghan is now expected to speak to more friends, influencers and startup entrepreneurs, as she tries to get her own As Ever brand off the ground.
Even so, Meghan insisted at the TIME100 Summit that she's the 'happiest she's ever been.'
'And to have a partner and husband who is so supportive and have healthy kids who are so joyful in the freeness of their life and the safety of their life we created for them,' she added.
'Of all the things that happened I never would have imagined at this point I'd be so happy and free and I really do.'

Forget your weekend plans to binge 'exceptional' Netflix thriller
It may well feel like the 'mystery thriller' genre on Netflix has become exceedingly overcrowded. Even for me – whose job it is to watch TV for a living – it feels like every week there is a new 'gripping' series that has spurned out of nowhere, adding to your already long watchlist. But in a frenzied sea of suspenseful mystery, one show is standing tall amongst its competitors, and that is none other than Eric Bana's Untamed. This six-part detective drama created by Mark L. Smith and Elle Smith follows the journey of Kyle Turner (Bana) as he attempts to piece together who killed the young woman we see tumble off a cliff in the first scene. Set in Yosemite National Park, the limited series offers an assessment of the human condition, showcasing how animalistic we can be when pushed into corners. Wake up to find news on your TV shows in your inbox every morning with Metro's TV Newsletter. Sign up to our newsletter and then select your show in the link we'll send you so we can get TV news tailored to you. Described by Metro's very own TV critic as 'the best show of 2025', fans and critics are raving over it. Writing on X, @CSForgey said: 'Phenomenal work and gorgeously shot. Selfishly I hope Kyle's journey continues in another series. He's like a broken Atticus Finch of a hero.' @nigelh_nigel added: 'Thoroughly enjoyed it. Spectacular scenery, those waterfalls….wow!!! Second series please.' Commenting on imdB, kurtdralle said: 'The best detective series since the first True Detective. Could not stop watching from the first minute of the series. This is excellent show with great setting and actors and plot.' BudoSenpai also wrote: 'Bana delivers an intense performance, embodying both vulnerability and strength, while Santiago adds emotional depth with her portrayal, creating a strong chemistry that will draw you into the story.' Meanwhile, Rebecca Nicholson from the Guardian described it is a 'blunt force thriller' that is 'very easy on the eye'. Some viewers, including Nicholson, did point out that there is a lack of depth. Bparkerprivat on imdB described it as 'visually beautiful' but said content-wise it was 'tame'. Another viewer, Ivan_Lilo argued: 'The pacing is a little off, it feels somewhat rushed, with key plot developments and character arcs lacking exploration, which will tend to leave you wanting more depth. An official synopsis of the series on Netflix reads: 'In the vast expanse of Yosemite National Park, a woman's death draws a federal agent into lawless terrain — where nature obeys no rules but its own.' Untamed's success comes after another 'compelling' mystery thriller soared up the Netflix chart after all 6 episodes dropped. More Trending The French mystery series, Under A Dark Sun, is said to promise a 'heartfelt' and 'suspenseful' experience for viewers. The show follows runaway single mother Alba Mazier (Ava Baya) whose boss, Arnaud Lasserre (Thibault De Montalembert), is killed 'just hours into starting her new job'. Now the main suspect, she becomes intertwined in a conspiracy full of 'deep-rooted secrets and morally grey decisions'. View More » Untamed is available to watch on Netflix. Got a story? Netflix uses generative AI in one of its shows for first time
Netflix has confirmed its first use of generative AI in a production, the Argentinian sci-fi series The Eternaut, to create visual effects. Co-chief executive Ted Sarandos stated that AI was used to depict a building collapse, completing the visual effect ten times faster than traditional methods. Sarandos highlighted that AI enables creators to make films and series better and more affordably, allowing small-budget shows to achieve convincing effects that would otherwise be unfeasible. He also sought to allay fears about AI replacing industry roles, emphasising its benefits in production, pre-visualisation, shot planning, and visual effects. The use of AI in film and TV has been a significant topic of debate, notably during the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike, which secured protections for actors regarding AI technology.

How to get Netflix free for two years ahead of Stranger Things season 5 release
We have found a way to watch every Stranger Things episode and more for free. Stranger Things fans will currently be feeling a mixture of excitement and sorrow as the trailer for the final season of the spine tinglingly Netflix show has been released. With the last ever episodes of one of the streaming service's most watched series hitting our screens later this year, many of us will want to go back to start to fully prepare. As the countdown begins to the explosive finale, we have found a way that fans of the series will be able to watch all five seasons without having to fork out on a Netflix subscription. This means viewers can curl up on the couch and travel to 1980s Hawkins without having to worry about an extra monthly fee. Sky is currently offering its customers free access to Netflix when they purchase one of their TV package deals. The cheapest deal - Essential TV bundle - starts at £15 per month and gives shoppers access to 100 channels, plus Sky Atlantic, Netflix and Discovery+ in one simple subscription. With this deal, shoppers will have free access to popular shows such as Bridgerton, Stranger Things and Squid Games without having to pay extra on top of their deal. The Netflix Standard with Ads package is included in this 24 month deal, which would normally cost customers £5.99 a month through the streaming service. For added ease, Sky is also letting those who already have an existing subscription with Netflix to keep the same account, meaning they won't end up paying twice the amount, reports the Mirror. Additionally, shoppers have the option of upgrading the Netflix package, but this does come with an added cost. To bump up to Netflix Standard, customers will need to add £6 on to their monthly bill, meanwhile Premium viewers will need to pay £11. However, it should be noted that Sky usually increases its subscription prices every April, so shoppers should expect to pay more for their TV package this time next year. This year, Sky increased the prices by 6.2 per cent, which will most likely be a similar case in April 2026. Alternatively, Virgin Media is also throwing in a free Netflix subscription with some of its TV packages, however they are a bit more on the pricier side than Sky's deals. The lowest priced deal is on the Biggest Combo bundle, which is currently down from £78.99 a month to £64.99. This deal includes more than 200 TV channels, Sky Cinema, Sky Sports and 516Mbps broadband. As Stranger Things has had viewers on tenterhooks for almost a decade, Netflix is spacing out its highly anticipated final season to keep viewers on the edge of their seats one last time. Episodes one to four of season five will premiere on November 27, with volume two (episodes five to seven) coming out on Boxing Day. Loyal fans will then start 2026 with the grande finale, which is set to release on New Year's Day. Despite being more than three years on from the release of season four, Stranger Things still has a huge cult following as it is the third most-watched Netflix series of all time. The premise of the final season, which is set in autumn 1987, comes with a simple goal - to find and kill Vecna. However, the synopsis reads: "But he has vanished – his whereabouts and plans unknown." It continues: "Complicating their mission, the government has placed the town under military quarantine and intensified its hunt for Eleven, forcing her back into hiding. "As the anniversary of Will's disappearance approaches, so does a heavy, familiar dread. The final battle is looming – and with it, a darkness more powerful and more deadly than anything they've faced before. To end this nightmare, they'll need everyone standing together, one last time." After the release of the trailer, many fans took to social media to express their excitement. One person wrote on X: "Oh my god, it looks so good. I can't wait." While another fan said: "Can't believe it's coming to end. Ready but not ready." However, some fans were a bit miffed about the extremely long wait between seasons, as one person wrote: "I'm going to watch this, but I'll never again watch a series that takes so long between seasons. It's ridiculous." On the flip side, a fourth fan took a more positive view: "I was wrong Stranger Things looks like it was worth the three year wait. I apologise." Among the returning cast is Millie Bobby Brown, Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery and Maya Hawke. Joining them is Terminator star Linda Hamilton as Dr. Kay. To get Netflix for free for two years through Sky, click HERE. Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community!
