‘Metro... In Dino' Box Office collection day 5: Sara Ali Khan, Aditya Roy Kapur, Pankaj Tripathi, Neena Gupta's film touches Rs 22 crore, shows steady growth
Anurag Basu 's much-awaited film 'Metro... In Dino' finally hit cinemas last Friday, bringing with it a fresh mix of love stories set in busy cities. With a brilliant cast that includes Sara Ali Khan , Aditya Roy Kapur , Pankaj Tripathi , Konkona Sen Sharma, Ali Fazal , Neena Gupta , Anupam Kher and Fatima Sana Shaikh, it's no wonder fans have been keen to see how this film shapes up. A promising start at the box office 'Metro... In Dino', which is being called a spiritual follow-up to Basu's 2007 hit 'Life... In A Metro', opened with a decent Rs 3.5 crore on Friday. The movie saw even better days over the weekend, with collections growing to Rs 6 crore on Saturday and Rs 7.25 crore on Sunday. But like many films, it faced a bit of a drop on Monday, pulling in about Rs 2.5 crore. Still, it made a solid comeback on Tuesday. According to early estimates reported by Sacnilk, the film showed good growth on its first Tuesday, earning Rs 2.9 crore. This pushed its total collection in India to roughly Rs 22.15 crore in just five days. Day-wise collection at a glance Here's how 'Metro... In Dino' performed each day at the box office so far: Day 1 (Friday): Rs 3.5 crore Day 2 (Saturday): Rs 6 crore Day 3 (Sunday): Rs 7.25 crore Day 4 (Monday): Rs 2.5 crore Day 5 (Tuesday): Rs 2.9 crore Audiences fill up evening shows On Tuesday, 'Metro... Afternoon shows saw 27.09%, evenings jumped to 31.68%, and night shows were the best, with 46.15% occupancy. A new spin on city love stories 'Metro... In Dino' gives us another look at how love plays out in crowded cities. Just like in 'Life... In A Metro', Basu brings together different stories, each showing couples trying to figure out love, trust, heartbreak and fresh starts. This time, Konkona Sen Sharma is the only actor from the original film returning for this new take. She is joined by Neena Gupta, who brings her own charm and depth. Sara Ali Khan, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Ali Fazal and Aditya Roy Kapur give the film a young, breezy feel, while Anupam Kher and Pankaj Tripathi's performance adds warmth and humour. 'Metro... In Dino' review The Times of India, in its review, pointed out both the sweet and the slightly weak parts of the film. It wrote, "Despite being largely pleasant, some tracks don't quite add up, feel uneven and don't know where to end. After an engaging build up, the second half feels a tad stretched. You also wish the story scratched the surface a little more, especially for Konkona-Neena Gupta track, where the actors have the potential and gravitas to dig deeper." But the review also highlighted what makes the film special in today's times. It read, 'There has been a scarcity of love stories in Bollywood and Metro In Dino, elevated by some fine performances, fills that gap perfectly. It is a breezy, intimate watch tailor-made for a rainy day."

Ram Kapoor On Being Sidelined From Mistry Promotions Due To Sexual Remarks: 'It Didn't Bother Me'
Last Updated: Ram Kapoor opens up about being sidelined from Mistry promotions, calling the controversy 'not a big deal' and thanking fans for their unwavering support. Ram Kapoor has finally addressed the controversy that led to him being sidelined from the promotions of his new show Mistry. In a candid interview, the seasoned actor opened up about his reaction to the backlash over inappropriate sexual remarks he made during an earlier interview, and how he dealt with what he described as his 'first controversy in 25 years." Speaking to Zoom, Ram said, 'I am literally the happiest man in the whole country right now. I was so nervous and so scared because of all the controversy and everything. The fact that nobody has allowed all this to matter to the show is something that I will forever be thankful for." Despite being removed from promotional duties, Ram maintained a calm perspective, choosing introspection over panic. 'I try not to make anything into too big a deal. All the big deals in our life are choices that we make. When this news hit, my family, network, and staff went berserk. But I told everyone, 'Why are you all reacting so much? I will handle it.'" He also shared how he explained the situation to his children, urging them to handle crises without panic. 'Things have to be handled, but without panic… If you don't allow anything to become a big deal, you won't let it affect you too much." Reacting to a cryptic Instagram post he made at the time, which read, 'Even if your life is in chaos, never forget your goals". Ram clarified, 'It didn't bother me… I've had such a long career. Whatever was happening publicly, I was handling it. But privately, on social media, the kind of support I received from the press and the industry—you can't imagine." He admitted the incident was a learning experience. 'Yes, what had happened should not have happened. I definitely need to make sure that I don't become like this again when I'm with people who don't know me well." Location : Mumbai, India, India First Published: July 09, 2025, 01:40 IST
