If you're a fan of hearty Southern breakfasts and long poolside brunches, we've got some delicious news: Big Bad Breakfast (BBB) is officially back and serving Inlet Beach!
At the entrance of 30A and just before the first light in Rosemary Beach, the family-friendly spot has reopened its doors after a temporary closure. The shutdown came suddenly last November, when renovations on the complex housing the restaurant forced a six-month pause in service.
'We had about an hour's notice,' says Josh Smith, local owner and franchisee of both the Inlet Beach and Miramar Beach BBB locations. 'It was a whirlwind, but we made the most of it. More importantly, we made it through to the other side and are excited to be back.'
We're excited they're back, too.

Big Bad Breakfast's break allowed the team to deep clean the space, add fresh paint, and complete a few thoughtful updates to the interior, which helped maintain the down-home diner charm guests know and love.
One of the best pieces of news about the reopening is that BBB moved many folks over to the Miramar location and ultimately retained 85% of its workforce, including its trusted General Manager and Kitchen Manager. That means regulars can expect the same warm welcomes, impeccable service, and—perhaps most importantly—the same execution of the mouthwatering menu they've come to expect.
Big Bad Breakfast is known for being a scratch kitchen, which means nothing is phoned in. The biscuits, jellies, and salad dressings are made in-house, and produce arrives fresh daily — a major reason the fresh-squeezed orange juice always hits just right.
The eatery is also proudly part of the Fatback Pig Project, an initiative that sources one-of-a-kind meats like sausage, bacon, and chicken that you won't find anywhere else. Its long-standing partnership with Louisiana's Tabasco Company also gives it a unique edge. The 'spicy bacon' option is seasoned with a proprietary rub you'll dream about long after your last bite.
In an era where many restaurants responded to inflation by raising prices, BBB has held firm in order to stay true to customer expectations. And that's really who this restaurant is all about. As Josh puts it, 'Word of mouth is great for advertising, but you really 'meet your guests' on their plates.'
So whether you're craving a perfectly cooked Jack Benny, a biscuit slathered in housemade gravy, or a plate of that signature bacon, Big Bad Breakfast in Inlet Beach is open, energized, and ready to welcome you back.
Local Tip: Skip the Line
If you're planning a weekend visit or looking to jumpstart your day, take advantage of BBB's 'call-ahead' seating by phone or on Yelp! While traditional reservations are not allowed, the Inlet Beach team is exceptionally skilled at managing its dual-options waitlist — something many restaurants in the area cannot claim. Saving time and avoiding the wait without sacrificing the laid-back experience? Yes, please!

Tea app promising safe dating for women hacked, putting users' privacy at risk

Tea, a provocative dating app designed to let women anonymously ask or warn each other about men they'd encountered, rocketed to the top spot on the U.S. Apple App Store this week. On Friday, the company behind the app confirmed it had been hacked: Thousands of images, including selfies, were leaked online. 'We have engaged third-party cybersecurity experts and are working around the clock to secure our systems,' San Francisco-based Tea Dating Advice Inc. said in a statement. The app and the breach highlight the fraught nature of seeking romance in the age of social media. Start your day with a roundup of B.C.-focused news and opinion. Here's what to know: Tea was meant to help women date safely Tea founder Sean Cook, a software engineer who previously worked at Salesforce and Shutterfly, says on the app's website that he founded the company in 2022 after witnessing his own mother's 'terrifying' experiences. Cook said they included unknowingly dating men with criminal records and being 'catfished' — deceived by men using false identities. Tea markets itself as a safe way for women to anonymously vet men they might meet on dating apps such as Tinder or Bumble — ensuring that the men are who they say they are, not criminals and not already married or in a relationship. It's been compared to the Yelp of dating. In an Apple Store review, one woman wrote that she used a Tea search to investigate a man she'd begun talking to and discovered 'over 20 red flags, including serious allegations like assault and recording women without their consent.' She said she cut off communication. 'I can't imagine how things could've gone had I not known,' she wrote. A surge in social media attention over the past week pushed Tea to the No. 1 spot at the U.S. Apple Store as of July 24, according to Sensor Tower, a research firm. In the seven days from July 17-23, Tea downloads shot up 525 per cent compared to the week before. Tea said in an Instagram post that it had reached four million users. Tea has been criticized for invading men's privacy A female columnist for The Times of London newspaper, who signed into the app, on Thursday called Tea a 'man-shaming site' and complained that 'this is simply vigilante justice, entirely reliant on the scruples of anonymous women. With Tea on the scene, what man would ever dare date a woman again?' 'Over the last couple of weeks, we've gotten hundreds of calls on it. It's blown up,' attorney Minc said. 'People are upset. They're getting named. They're getting shamed.' In 1996, Congress passed legislation protecting websites and apps from liability for things posted by their users. But the users can be sued for spreading 'false and defamatory' information, Minc said. In May, however, a federal judge in Illinois threw out an invasion-of-privacy lawsuit by a man who'd been criticized by women in the Facebook chat group 'Are We Dating the Same Guy,″ Bloomberg Law reported. State privacy laws could offer another avenue for bringing legal action against someone who posted your photograph or other personal information in a harmful way, Minc said. The breach exposed thousands of selfies and photo IDs In its statement, Tea reported that about 72,000 images were leaked online, including 13,000 images of selfies or photo identification that users submitted during account verification. Another 59,000 images that were publicly viewable in the app from posts, comments and direct messages were also accessed, according to the company's statement. No email addresses or phone numbers were exposed, the company said, and the breach only affects users who signed up before February 2024. 'At this time, there is no evidence to suggest that additional user data was affected. Protecting tea users' privacy and data is our highest priority,' Tea said. It said users did not need to change their passwords or delete their accounts. 'All data has been secured.' Your Guide to Nashville's Neuhoff District

Share with your friends! Pinterest LinkedIn Email Flipboard Reddit The Neuhoff District is a quietly blooming creative corridor where soaring industrial relics collide with cutting-edge design studios and local cafés. Once overlooked, this riverfront enclave near Germantown now pulses with local energy — murals splash across walls, startups buzz in repurposed lofts, and top Southern chefs yell, 'Order up!' A canvas for innovation and community, Neuhoff is Nashville's next 'it' neighborhood, rooted in grit and growing with grace. Here's where to eat, shop, play, and more! Pin Neuhoff District's Meaty History The Neuhoff District traces its origins to 1905 when German immigrant Henry Neuhoff and his brother established the Neuhoff Packing Company along the Cumberland River. Then nicknamed 'Butcher Hollow' for its stockyards and meat-packing plants, the business expanded regionally in the 1930s and eventually shuttered in 1977 amid industry-wide closures. Pin Following decades of abandonment, the sprawling brick complex found new life in the 1980s and 1990s as a creative space for the Nashville Jazz Workshop, the Cultural Arts Project, photography studios, and even singer-songwriter John Prine's writing studio. In the late 1990s, the McRedmond family acquired the site and began a long-term revitalization vision, fueled by heir Stephen McRedmond's dedication to preserving the industrial architecture. Pin By 2019, Atlanta-based New City Properties (they did Ponce City Market) tapped top firms to embark on a massive adaptive reuse and new construction project. 'Our goal with the Neuhoff District was to create an iconic destination for Nashville that honors the past and celebrates the future of the city,' Jim Irwin, Founder and President of New City Properties, tells us. 'As it comes alive, Neuhoff will be a movable feast of experiences, constantly changing, with new things to taste and see.'
