A derelict cottage nestled in the countryside is up for auction, with a price tag of just £1 (just over $1).
The two-bedroom home named Bwthyn Cariad - or Love Cottage - is located in Pembrokeshire in Wales, but is in need of a total revamp.
Auctioneers at Paul Fosh Auctions hope the price tag of just £1 will attract investors who are up for the challenge of renovation.
Sean Roper, senior auction valuer, believes there could be handsome rewards if an investor is willing to show the cottage some much-needed love.
"The mid terraced property has certainly seen much better days," he said.
"But there is plenty of scope presented by what is there and added to that, the property has a very large garden which could also be exploited - and an auction guide price of just £1!
"Currently, Bwthyn Cariad has two lower ground floor rooms with two bedrooms upstairs, with the expansive garden which extends down the rear of Meyrick Street.
"It would seem that the lot offers a number of development opportunities, subject to obtaining planning permission.
"The first could be to renovate and refurbish to a high standard for holiday lets due to its proximity to many of Pembrokeshire top tourist areas.
"Typically, a refurbished two-bedroom cottage would generate in the region of 28k per annum net as a holiday let.
"A second option could be to renovate and refurbish to a high standard as a long term let.
"There could be a high demand for this kind of refurbished property from young professionals and local workers and could achieve a monthly rental of some £900 pcm.
"Another idea could be to renovate and refurbish to a high standard and sell on the open market.
"Renovated, a typical, two-bedroom high-standard property in this area could sell for between $160,000 and $185,000.
"There is also an option to renovate and sell the garden space that runs up Meyrick Street, that's with the property.
"Parcels of land could be sold to individual houses along Meyrick Street and then retain the house with a portion of the remaining garden space.
"The property is located within close proximity of the main shopping area of Pembroke Dock.
"Pembroke Dock itself is a town located some three miles north west of Pembroke and seven miles south of Haverfordwest, with good road links provided by the A47,7 which links to the A40 at Johnstown.
"Pembroke Dock provides a comprehensive range of shopping and recreational pursuits also it benefits from a rail station Northwest of the property, providing further transport links.
"The A477 also leads north via the Cleddau Bridge crossing Milford Haven through to Honeyborough and also providing access to the heart of Milford Haven Centre."
Bwthyn Cariad is one of some eighty-plus lots which will be sold online at Paul Fosh Auctions, which starts at 12 noon on Tuesday, June 24 and ends from 5 pm on Thursday, June 26.

Winston Churchill's reading glasses on sale for nearly $80,000

By Adam Dutton A pair of Sir Winston Churchill's reading glasses has gone on sale for an eye-watering amount. The round-rimmed tortoiseshell glasses were made for the wartime prime minister by London opticians C W Dixey and Sons. Three pairs of Churchill's spectacles were still in their possession when he died and were later found in their archives. One of the pairs, made in 1954 and worn by Churchill during his second term as PM, is now being sold for ($79,302) £59,955. The glasses and original Tory-blue case are accompanied by a signed letter of provenance from the manufacturer. Churchill was a longstanding patron of C W Dixey and Sons and placed his first order in 1910. He famously wore the company's Model 1805 frames, with their distinctive round shape and keyhole bridge. Each pair was carefully tailored to fit his face, and according to Churchill's specifications, they included a varying number of white dots on the temple tips depending on their purpose. The single white dots on these spectacles denote they were used by Churchill for reading. Other pairs were made for giving speeches, painting and writing. The glasses are being sold by Bristol-based Paul Fraser Collectibles. A spokesperson said: "This pair was made for Churchill in 1954 and worn as he served his second term as Prime Minister. "This pair of Winston Churchill's spectacles is without doubt one of the finest items of British history we have ever had the pleasure of offering. "Their outstanding condition and provenance make them a museum-quality centerpiece for private collections of the highest caliber." The glasses can be purchased from the company's website. ‘Mission: Impossible' IRL? Device self-destructs at push of a button

By Dean Murray A "Mission: Impossible"-style data storage device self-destructs at the push of a button. The newly-launched tech is able to delete all files contained on it, even when power is lost. It works in a similar fashion to the "Mission: Impossible" film series, where secret agent Ethan Hunt, played by Tom Cruise, listens to recorded instructions that end with "This message will self-destruct in five seconds." In the movies, the message is followed by a dramatic countdown and the playback device then destroys itself in a small burst of smoke or flames to preserve secrecy. Taiwanese firm Team Group says their P250Q SSD has a hardware destruction process that takes about 10 seconds, after which the stored data is totally unrecoverable. As well as a software wipe option, an irreversible physical hardware destruction mode sends a powerful surge of electricity directly to the SSD's NAND flash memory chips. The resulting electrical "blast" rapidly fries the memory cells, physically damaging the chips so that data cannot be recovered, even with advanced forensic tools. Designed with real-world deployment in mind, the P250Q combines dual-mode software-hardware destruction, a one-click activation button, and multi-stage LED indicators that display real-time progress. Available in storage sizes up to 2TB, the company says the product is engineered to meet the stringent security and stability requirements of military, industrial automation, and AI applications, and sets a new benchmark for data protection. Team Group said: "Moving forward, Team Group will continue to place innovation at the core of its values, delivering safer and more intelligent storage solutions tailored for global industrial and military-grade applications."
