With group classes, private sessions, and community support, this program sets a solid foundation for lifelong companionship and success.
High Caliber Working Dog Training, located at 949 W 21st St, Upland, CA 91784, today announced the expansion of its early‑education curriculum designed to set local puppies on a lifelong path of obedience, confidence, and health. The initiative answers growing demand for puppy training Upland CA and reinforces the facility's reputation as the premier center for dog training in Upland CA.
Early socialization remains the cornerstone of every program. Under the guidance of certified instructors, puppies are introduced to diverse sights, sounds, and canine companions in a controlled setting. These carefully structured sessions—held both on‑site and in nearby parks—help prevent fear‑based behaviors and nurture calm, well‑mannered dogs that integrate seamlessly into the vibrant Upland community.
'Confidence built during the first weeks translates into better interactions at farmers' markets, neighborhood gatherings, and pet‑friendly cafés,' explained the lead behavior specialist at High Caliber Working Dog Training. Through incremental exposure, each puppy learns appropriate greetings, leash etiquette, and polite responses to busy environments.
Positive‑reinforcement methodology underscores every lesson. Hand signals, consistent verbal cues, and immediate rewards teach fundamental commands such as 'sit,' 'stay,' 'come,' 'heel,' and 'leave it.' This science‑backed approach establishes clear communication without resorting to harsh corrections, ensuring that each dog associates training with security and enthusiasm. The result is a robust foundation that owners can build upon long after classes conclude.
Structured instruction further strengthens the human–canine bond. By participating in short, focused drills, families learn to read posture, tail movement, and vocal cues, fostering mutual trust and respect. Graduates consistently demonstrate lower anxiety and heightened adaptability—qualities that translate into smoother veterinary visits, safer off‑leash adventures, and relaxed introductions to new people and pets.
Health benefits accompany behavioral gains. Regular drills encourage both physical exercise and mental stimulation, reducing the risk of destructive habits while supporting cardiovascular fitness. Consistency also establishes dependable daily routines, alleviating household stress and promoting overall well‑being for pets and their families alike.
High Caliber Working Dog Training complements its group classes with tailored one‑on‑one sessions led by a dog trainer Upland residents repeatedly recommend. Individual coaching targets specific challenges—ranging from leash reactivity to crate‑training setbacks—ensuring that every puppy progresses at an optimal pace. Clients also receive access to an online resource library containing step‑by‑step tutorials, progress trackers, and nutrition advice.
Community engagement amplifies program success. Weekly meet‑ups at the Upland Dog Park provide graduates with supervised play and ongoing skill refreshers, while social‑media forums allow owners to exchange tips, schedule practice outings, and celebrate milestones. These collective efforts create a supportive ecosystem that sustains good manners well beyond the classroom.
Local families have already witnessed dramatic transformations. Bella, a timid Golden Retriever, overcame sound sensitivity within weeks, emerging as a confident fixture at city events. Max, an exuberant Labrador, redirected boundless energy into agility exercises, earning applause for precise recalls and polite sits. Such stories underscore the long‑term value of enrolling dogs early and consistently.
High Caliber Working Dog Training invites Upland residents seeking dog training Upland CA or specialized puppy training Upland CA to tour the facility, observe live classes, and consult with trainers about customized learning paths. Enrollment for the summer cohort remains open, with limited spots to preserve low instructor‑to‑puppy ratios.

Oilfield service group says relief from counter-tariffs on U.S. sand ‘fantastic news'

A sand dune is backdropped by Atlas Energy plant at the beginning of a 68-kilometre conveyor belt that carries sand needed for hydraulic fracturing Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2025, in Kermit, Texas. (AP Photo/Julio Cortez) CALGARY — The federal government is offering Canadian oil and gas drillers counter-tariff reprieve on the vast amounts of sand they import from the United States. The sand is used in the hydraulic fracturing — or fracking — process to help free resources trapped in hard-to-access shale formations deep underground. It's among the imported U.S. goods on which Canada has imposed a surcharge in retaliation for President Donald Trump's flurry of tariffs. Sand from Wisconsin meets the specs needed by Canadian drillers, and the lion's share of what they use is brought in from the Midwestern state. A federal order published in the Canada Gazette newsletter this week says relief is available for companies that import silica and quartz sand, among other products. Gurpreet Lail, the chief executive of industry group Enserva, says it's fantastic news, as the counter-tariffs on sand alone would have cost industry $275 million a year. --- Lauren Krugel, The Canadian Press This report by The Canadian Press was first published July 17, 2025.

Okta Emphasizes AI-Driven Security: Can PANW Advance Its Lead?

Okta OKTA is stepping up its efforts in identity protection by putting artificial intelligence (AI) at the center of its security strategy. The company's Identity Threat Protection with Okta AI advanced features enables customers to detect and respond to identity-based threats in real time and prevent damage before it occurs. This AI approach supports Okta's growing portfolio, which includes Identity Governance, Privileged Access, Fine-Grained Authorization, Device Access and Identity Security Posture Management. The company is also expanding its security tools to protect non-human identities like service accounts and bots, which is a growing concern in today's cloud and AI environments. This all fits into a larger zero-trust model, where no user or device is trusted by default. A major boost to this AI-driven vision comes from Okta's new partnership with Palo Alto Networks PANW. This integration creates a unified security architecture that allows organizations to automate threat detection and response, secure application access across any device and streamline identity workflows without compromising security. Through this collaboration, Okta's threat detection is now integrated into Palo Alto's powerful security platforms — Cortex XSIAM and XDR — creating a comprehensive response to the most advanced attacks. With nearly 2,000 shared customers, Okta and Palo Alto Networks are joining forces to make security tools work better together. Their partnership helps businesses automate protection, simplify operations and adopt AI faster. Okta Faces Rising Pressure in IAM Space Okta is facing significant competition from CyberArk Software CYBR and Microsoft MSFT in the identity and access management (IAM) domain. CyberArk leads the Privileged Access Management space, strengthened by its Zilla Security and Venafi acquisitions, expanding into Identity Governance and machine identity protection. In the first quarter of 2025, the company posted 43% revenue growth and improved margins, driven by the company's robust dominance in identity security. CyberArk's continuous investments in its product suite and go-to-market are noteworthy. Microsoft's Entra ID poses a significant challenge with its fully integrated Identity and Access Management platform. Serving over 900 million monthly active users, the company offers advanced tools like Single Sign-On, Multi-Factor Authentication, Conditional Access and Identity Protection. Microsoft delivers these capabilities at scalable levels, from free to P2, supported by centralized control and global reach, reinforcing its dominance in secure identity solutions.
