Kim Soo Hyun's apartment worth 2.2 million USD seized? Actor accused of not paying penalty charges

Time of India12-06-2025

Kim Soo Hyun
has found himself at the centre of another scandal. As the dating scandal case between him and late actress Kim Sae Ron gained traction, a lot of companies cancelled their contracts with Soo Hyun. Not only that, many even sued the 'It's Okay To Not Be Okay' actor for damages caused by the case. One such cosmetic company applied to seize the actor's estate. The request was officially granted by a court recently.
Kim Soo Hyun's property seized by a cosmetic company, worth millions of USD
It was reported by ChosunBiz on June 11 that a popular cosmetic tools company had seized the actor's property. The request itself was filed on May 8 and was approved soon after by the Seoul Eastern District Court on May 20.
Kim Soo Hyun's representative issues a statement
The news was then confirmed by Bang Sung Hoon, legal representative of Kim Soo Hyun. The actor's side, however, called out the seizure and called it unlawful. As per reports from Koreaboo, they issued their statement that 'However, this seizure is unfair. Kim Soo Hyun is a victim of
HOVERLAB
. Although the issues lie with the assailants, the arrows are being pointed toward the victim simply because contractual obligations were not met.'
The legal representative continued, stating that "From the perspective of the advertiser, they paid a model but cannot use the model for advertisement purposes, resulting in financial losses. This is undeniable. But who triggered this situation? It was HOVERLAB. If we can prove through the court proceedings that HOVERLAB made false claims, then Kim Soo Hyun's reputation will be restored and the advertisers will no longer have reason to pursue compensation for damages."
About Kim Soo Hyun's property
The actor owns 3 different apartment units in Galleria Forêt, one of the most sought-after and expensive complexes in the country. Only one of the three units has been seized by the cosmetic tool company.
The property costs approximately 3 billion KRW, which amounts to around 2.2 million USD. The company had earlier claimed that the seizure request was made due to the fact that the actor had been unable to pay penalties and damage fees to the company after a contract breach.
On the other hand, Kim Soo Hyun has also filed for seizure of real estate owned by HoverLab CEO
Kim Se Eui
. The YouTuber's assets were seized by the actor and cost approximately 12 billion KRW.

F1 Global Weekend Box Office: Brad Pitt starrer races its way to USD 144 million worldwide; Almost doubles pre-release projections

F1: The Movie, directed by Joseph Kosinski and starring Brad Pitt, Damson Idris, Javier Bardem, and Kerry Condon among others, is high-octane sports drama centered on Formula 1 racing. The film was released theatrically on June 27th, and it has started off strong. Let's dissect the box office of the movie in detail. F1 Grosses USD 144 Million Globally In Its Opening Weekend The Brad Pitt film grossed USD 144 million worldwide in its opening weekend. In North America, it earned USD 55.6 million from Thursday to Sunday, including USD 10 million from previews. Internationally, it collected USD 88.4 million across 78 markets, ranking as the top Hollywood film in 74 of them. The key markets includes the UK (USD 9.2 million), China (USD 9 million), and Mexico (USD 6.7 million). India has added an excellent USD 2.8 million too. With this, the movie has nearly doubled pre-release projections of a tepid USD 80 million, marking Apple Original Films' biggest opening to date, surpassing Killers of the Flower Moon 's USD 23.2 million. F1 Is Riding On Positive Audience Reception; Stiff Competiton Poses A Threat The reception indicates F1 could reach USD 600 million globally, though it's too early to confirm. An "A" CinemaScore and 97 percent Rotten Tomatoes audience score suggest positive word-of-mouth. However, upcoming releases like Jurassic World: Rebirth and Superman may challenge its run. Some estimates point to a more conservative USD 425 million global total. But since the movie has been making a mockery of all trade predictions, it is expected to do that again. F1 Must Gross Atleast USD 500 Million For A Theatrical Breakeven The film's budget is estimated at USD 200 million to USD 250 million, with marketing costs adding roughly USD 125 million, totaling around USD 350 million. Theatrical breakeven requires at least USD 500 million in global ticket sales, based on the industry's 2.5x budget multiplier. Tax incentives and USD 40 million in product placement offset some costs, but consistent box office performance is essential. As an Apple production, streaming revenue on Apple TV+ may supplement earnings, though theatrical success remains the priority. F1 has posted a robust opening, but its financial outcome hinges on maintaining momentum. F1 In Theatres F1 plays in theatres now. Stay tuned to Pinkvilla for more updates on the sports drama.

Mission Impossible The Final Reckoning Worldwide Box Office Update: Tom Cruise's acioner crawls towards USD 610 million global finish

Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning, the eighth film in the action-packed franchise, landed in theaters on May 23, 2025. Directed by Christopher McQuarrie, it stars Tom Cruise as IMF agent Ethan Hunt, alongside Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, and Angela Bassett among others. Let's analyse the global collections of the film so far, in detail. The Final Reckoning Has Grossed USD 562 Million As Of June 29, 2025 As of June 29, 2025, The Final Reckoning has earned USD 562 million globally. The U.S. market has contributed USD 186 million, with international territories adding USD 376 million. It kicked off with a franchise-best USD 200 million over the four day Memorial Day weekend, topping Mission: Impossible - Fallout's opening. The film also set a series record with a USD 127 million debut across global markets and pulled in USD 31 million from IMAX screenings alone. Despite a crowded box office, including competition from Lilo & Stitch's massive run, it showed resilience every week to come this far. The Final Reckoning Seems To Be Ending Its Global Run In USD 610 Million Range Looking ahead, the film is projected to finish its theatrical run between USD 600 million and USD 620 million worldwide. This would surpass Dead Reckoning Part One's USD 571 million but fall well below Fallout 's USD 791 million, the franchise's top earner. The Collections And Lifetime Global Expectations Of The Final Reckoning Are As Under The Budget Of The Final Reckoning Is Not Allowing The Movie To Be Seen As A Solid Theatrical Win Despite its solid box office, The Final Reckoning's estimated USD 300 million plus production budget poses a challenge. To break even, it needed to gross at least USD 800 million, a target it's unlikely to meet. With its current USD 562 million total, the film faces a theatrical shortfall of atleast USD 200 million. While future revenue from streaming platforms, TV deals, and home media sales may ease the financial strain, the theatrical run alone won't recover costs. Despite The Underperformance Vis-à-Vis Budget, The Final Reckoning's Collections Prove That Tom Cruise Still Sells The film's thrilling action and fan support haven't fully translated to the financial success Paramount anticipated, highlighting the risks of massive budgets in today's unpredictable market. Still, its global draw proves that Tom Cruise still sells. The Final Reckoning In Theatres

F1 The Movie Scores 25cr Weekend in India, Second biggest ever for an original Hollywood film

F1: The Movie zoomed off the starting line with a terrific opening weekend in India, grossing Rs. 25.25 crore (USD 2.95 million). While Hollywood films have seen bigger openings in the market, they are usually from a handful of franchises. What sets F1 apart is that these numbers have come from an original film, not part of an established franchise. The weekend numbers are the second-highest ever for an original film, just behind Oppenheimer. The Brad Pitt starrer sports drama opened well on Friday to Rs. 6.25 crore and then saw good growth over the weekend, with Sunday nearly hitting the Rs. 10 crore mark. The growth could have been better, but since the film was already doing big in IMAX on Friday, there was little space to grow on Saturday and Sunday. This would also mean better holds on weekdays with unmet demand spilling over to weekdays on these high-collecting screens. The one key reason for a strong opening for the film is probably the sport itself. Formula 1 or F1 enjoys a niche but passionate fan base in India, which turned up for the film. The film also benefits from being a large-screen spectacle, with IMAX accounting for nearly 30 per cent of its business. Adding to the appeal is the fact that this is the director's follow-up to his 2022 global blockbuster Top Gun: Maverick. What F1 has grossed in one weekend would have been considered a solid lifetime number; now it could aim for a lot more. Although next week will see the release of the big Hollywood tentpole, Jurassic World, F1 has IMAXes to its disposal exclusively for the next two weeks, which should keep it running. A Rs. 50 crore plus final seems easy enough, which would be amongst the biggest ever for an original film in India.
