Woman, infant severely injured after being struck by pickup truck in Eskasoni
An Eskasoni, N.S., man is facing multiple charges after a woman and infant were left severely injured after being struck by a pickup truck on Friday. According to a news release from the RCMP, emergency services responded to Gabriel Street in Eskasoni at 1:40 p.m. AT after receiving a report that a pickup truck had struck a woman and infant on the sidewalk. The driver drove off, police say. The pedestrians, a 25-year-old women and an infant, both from Eskasoni, were taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to the release. Police located the truck nearby and determined that the driver had fled on foot. The 34-year-old driver was later located and arrested. Earlier that morning, at approximately 7:55 a.m., Eskasoni RCMP had responded to a report of a possible impaired driver involving the same pickup truck. A search for the vehicle was unsuccessful. The man has been charged with failure to stop after an accident causing bodily harm and two counts of dangerous operation causing bodily harm. He remains in custody pending an appearance in Sydney provincial court on Monday. The current condition of the victims has not been released.

2 people in hospital with serious injuries after Prince Albert hit and run
Prince Albert police are asking for the public's help after a Friday night hit and run left two people hospitalized with serious injuries. Police say around 10:13 p.m. local time, one of their officers saw a small, dark-coloured SUV hit two people in the 1400 block of 2nd Ave. West. The police officer drove to the scene, but the driver had already fled. The officer stayed to treat the victims, a 34-year-old woman and a 56-year-old man. Both were taken to Victoria Hospital and remain there in serious condition. Prince Albert police are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact them at 306-953-4222. Anonymous tips can also be sent to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Pedestrians seriously injured in Prince Albert hit-and-run
Prince Albert police are seeking the public's help in identifying a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run collision that left two pedestrians seriously injured late Friday night. Police say the incident happened around 10:13 p.m. in the 1400 block of 2nd Avenue West. A police officer in the area witnessed the collision and immediately responded to the scene, where he found two pedestrians with serious injuries. The victims, a 34-year-old woman and a 56-year-old man, were taken to Victoria Hospital by Parkland Ambulance, where they remain in serious to police, the vehicle involved in the collision fled the scene and efforts to locate it were unsuccessful. The vehicle is described as a smaller, dark-coloured SUV. The Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist attended the scene, and the Prince Albert Police Service Major Crimes Unit is leading the investigation.
