Tesla blows past stopped school bus and hits kid-sized dummies in Full Self-Driving tests
It's worth noting that Tesla's autonomous driving feature is formally known as Full Self-Driving (Supervised) and "requires a fully attentive driver and will display a series of escalating warnings requiring driver response." Tesla even has a warning that says, "failure to follow these instructions could cause damage, serious injury or death." However, it's not the first time that Tesla's FSD software has found itself in hot water. The Dawn Project, whose founder Dan O'Dowd is the CEO of a company that offers competing automated driving system software, previously took out ads warning about the dangers of Tesla's Full Self-Driving and how it would fail to yield around school buses. In April 2024, a Model S using Full Self-Driving was involved in a crash in Washington, where a motorcyclist died.
With anticipation building up for an eventual Cybercab rollout on June 22, the company's CEO posted some additional details on X. According to Elon Musk, Tesla is "being super paranoid about safety, so the date could shift." Beyond that, Musk also posted that the "first Tesla that drives itself from factory end of line all the way to a customer house is June 28."

Alphabet stock still looking cheap: Opening Bid top takeaway
Sorry, trade deal tracker fans, you'll have to take a back seat this morning for earnings analysis. Tesla (TSLA) is the top trending ticker on Yahoo Finance as the EV maker delivered a weak quarter that everyone on the Street expected. What they didn't expect was a subdued Elon Musk on the earnings call. A little less sizzle on the mic this go around for the prickly gazillionaire! Then we have Alphabet (GOOG, GOOGL), which dropped the mic in its own right on Wednesday afternoon — but for the right reasons: bullish earnings call commentary on cloud demand and how it's monetizing AI in its core search business. The company also lifted its capital expenditure for 2025 to $85 billion, a $10 billion jump from its previous forecast. "What we see here is that AI spend is going absolutely nowhere but up," Gradient Investments analyst Lisa Schreiber said on Opening Bid. "So, it's still very strong, which is a very perfect backdrop for the rest of the hyperscalers, as [their earnings] are coming in over the next couple of weeks, that benefits even more parts of the industries." There are also peripheral reports in focus, such as IBM (IBM) and Chipotle (CMG). IBM had a good quarter. CFO Jim Kavanaugh tells me the company is finding more expense savings and is seeing sizable AI software demand. But the stock is getting hit. Chipotle had an unsavory quarter, as sales surprisingly slowed. That stock is getting shredded. "Markets digested a high-impact slate of earnings marked by extreme single-stock volatility, investors rewarding clean beats paired with credible guidance, punishing any signs of softness," Evercore ISI strategist Julian Emanuel said. For me, the main stock story on Opening Bid today was Alphabet. The numbers were so strong that one has to wonder why the stock didn't gain more — especially considering shares trade at a discounted forward PE ratio relative to the S&P 500 (^GSPC). Zoom in: Alphabet's big quarter Alphabet is trading at only 19.3 times forward earnings on a PE basis (S&P 500 is at 24 times), and the stock goes up just 2% on Thursday morning? Did anyone listen to the earnings call? I did: The company said revenue growth accelerated throughout the business. Cloud business is rocking. The company said it's not losing key AI talent to the giant wallet of Meta (META). The discussion around AI and search seems very bullish. YouTube is crushing it. "AI (beast) mode — it's time to close the valuation gap," KeyBanc analyst Justin Patterson said. Wedbush analyst Dan Ives added, "We continue see a favorable risk/reward for Alphabet and think there is a case for multiple expansion in the coming quarters as investors gain more comfort around the current macro environment, regulatory risk, and the impact of generative AI on the business." Analyst Explains How NVIDIA (NVDA) Can Reach $8 Trillion Market Cap
NVIDIA Corp (NASDAQ:NVDA) is one of the . Nigam Arora from The Arora Report said in a recent program on Schwab Network that NVIDIA Corp (NASDAQ:NVDA) can hit $8 trillion market cap. Here is how Arora backed his thesis: 'When we were saying aggressive buy Nvidia, it was a $300 million company. Because at that time, people are saying, 'Yeah, maybe AI, maybe not, maybe it's a fad.' And, you know, we were convicted AI is real. And now everybody knows what happened, right? So the next big thing is robotics. Two kind of robots, right? One of the industrial robots that we already see like in Amazon warehouse and so on. They're going to grow a lot, but we're talking about humanoid robots, right? The kind that Elon Musk shows serving drinks and things like that. So it's a future. We really cannot predict the future for sure, but we have to have some imagination, right? So there are some predictions, you know, if you look through some models that human-eye robots could be as big as a $3 trillion market. That's a huge huge market. I mean it could be bigger than cars and you and I will be having our own robots, right. So the question is how do you benefit from it? Tesla is obviously one. But then who's going to provide the brains, the chips, the software and all the infrastructure that is going to take to, you know, not only robots at the edge but also in the data centers to control all that and there's nobody else like Nvidia.' With its latest numbers and stock performance, Nvidia was able to prove the skeptics wrong. In its recently reported quarter, Nvidia's data center computer revenue rose 76% year over year, driven by Blackwell GB200. The company is finding new catalysts for growth. Saudi Arabia's Humain plans to buy more than 200,000 AI GPUs from Nvidia, potentially generating $15 billion in sales. The UAE reportedly has an agreement for up to 500,000 GPUs. Even without China's involvement for now, Nvidia said nearly 100 AI factories are under construction. These factories have hyperscalers deploying 1,000 GB200 NVL72 racks weekly, each with 72,000 Blackwell GPUs. Mar Vista Global Quality Strategy stated the following regarding NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ:NVDA) in its second quarter 2025 investor letter: 'NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ:NVDA) shares rebounded from their calendar Q1 lows as investor concerns over DeepSeek's efficiency gains and U.S. government restrictions on advanced AI semiconductors, such as NVIDIA's H20 family of GPUs, proved overstated. Demand for NVIDIA's next-generation Blackwell platform remains strong, fueled by the growing complexity of large language models and the emergence of reasoning-based applications. As CEO Jensen Huang noted, reasoning tasks can require up to 10 times the compute power of training a conventional large language model. With the AI market still in the early stages of a multi-year infrastructure build-out, NVIDIA is well-positioned to capture significant value as the industry standard for accelerated computing.' While we acknowledge the potential of NVDA as an investment, our conviction lies in the belief that some AI stocks hold greater promise for delivering higher returns and have limited downside risk.
