Wanted: Two men accused of shooting at man they were trying to rob in Matthews
Around 6 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 27, a man told officers that two men with a handgun demanded money from him while he was walking near the 3600 block of Straussburg Woods Lane. The man says the two shot at him when he ran away. Luckily, he was not hurt.

The suspects are described as two slim, black men approximately 18 to 25 years old, wearing black hoodies, masks, black pants and black gloves. The two were seen leaving the area in a white SUV.
Police believe the SUV was a white 2021 Ford Explorer with the N.C. license plate RTC-3240 that was stolen earlier in the morning from the 11000 block of Torino Road. The vehicle was last seen on Albemarle Road near Wilgrove Mint Hill Road.
Police believe the two incidents are isolated and not part of a string of crimes. Both suspects are considered armed and dangerous. The public is asked to stay away from them and call 911 or 704-847-5555 if you see them or have any information on the case.
Matthews Police also stress the importance of locking your vehicle and staying aware of your surroundings when walking.

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The El Paso Police Department and Take 5 Oil Change are taking 'proactive steps' to protect vehicle owners from the rising threat of catalytic converter theft.
