Forrester kept calm to set himself up to finish well after fellow substitute Conor Carty's initial effort had been saved following a ball through by Brandon Kavanagh.

With a potential third round tie

The Saints boss said: "We can't assume anything. It's not inevitable, that just because Kalju are at home that they will play that way.
'We must prepare for all eventualities and we must try and establish some control on the game ourselves.
'Rather than looking for counter-attacks on the word go, we must look to establish some kind of control and try to score the first goal.'
While the former Ireland boss admits they have done their homework on the two European powerhouses they could meet in the third round, he ensures this tie is far from over.

The five-time Premier Division winning manager added: 'From our point of view, we always do our preparation regardless.
"One thing we're not doing ourselves is looking beyond this game. It would be foolish to do so. I think this game itself will be hard-fought.
'They are a level-headed group, they understand we are not at the level that we can dismiss anybody, Estonian teams have traditionally been tough opposition, we have to earn the right to win.
'To win in Estonia won't be easy but the players are playing well now in the last couple of weeks and really starting to take control of the games in a good way, although we need to convert more of our chances.'

McCoy tells of sadness as racecourse he rode first winner at announces closure

Irish racing was dealt a seismic blow with the shock announcement on Friday morning that Thurles racecourse would close with immediate effect. Cheltenham Gold Cup winners Don Cossack and Sizing John both won at the track, as did dual Ryanair Chase victor Allaho. Thurles also provided Rachael Blackmore with her first ever winner, as it did AP McCoy. 'Thurles will always be a special place for me," said William Hill ambassador McCoy. "It's where I rode my first winner back in 1992 aboard Legal Steps, a second-string of Jim Bolger's, riding against the likes of Christy Roche and Mick Kinane. It's sad that it's closing, because I always used to think it was 'the only all-weather track in Ireland', because they'd race there no matter what the weather was like! 'It's very sad to see any racecourse closing, and it's just a sad day. You've had plenty of good horses winning there over the years, and the likes of Willie Mullins and Gordon Elliott were never afraid to send their best horses to the track. You obviously had Don Cossack, Allaho, and Sizing John win there over the years, and that's just a testament to the place. 'Rachael Blackmore rode her first winner there too, and it was one of my favourite tracks in Ireland due to having ridden my first winner there. It's a loss to Irish racing and it's never good to see a track close.' Willie Mullins recorded more than 250 winners at the venue and told of his shock at the immediate closure. He told the PA news agency: "It was a major shock this morning to hear the news. It will be a huge blow for Irish racing, more specifically Irish jump racing and winter jump racing. "Thurles is a track that always had beautiful ground in the winter when other tracks couldn't. "It's the last family-run track in Ireland, I believe. Pierce Molony ran it for years, his father ran it before him and Riona and family have run it since Pierce died and they've been fantastic for the Irish jump fraternity over the years."

Son Heung-min announces Tottenham departure

Tottenham captain Son Heung-min has revealed he will leave the club this summer. Son has spent the last decade at Spurs and achieved his goal of silverware in May when he helped the Premier League team to Europa League success with a 1-0 victory over Manchester United. It ended a 17-year trophy drought for the club and South Korea captain Son explained his decision to target a "fresh challenge" during a press conference in his home country ahead of Tottenham's pre-season friendly with Newcastle on Sunday. After Spurs arrived in Seoul on Friday, Son – following a remarkable 454 appearances and 173 goals for the north London club – confirmed his desire to depart this summer, with MLS outfit Los Angeles FC leading the race for his signature, it has been reported. Son told a press conference: "Before we start, I wanted to say I have decided to leave the club this summer. "Respectfully, the club is helping me with this decision. "It was the most difficult decision I have made in my career, such amazing memories. It was so hard to make this decision. He continued: "I need a new environment to push myself. I need a little bit of change – 10 years is a long time. "I came to north London as a kid, 23-years-old, such a young age. I leave the club as a grown man, a very proud man. "I want to say thanks to all the Spurs fans for giving me so much love. I hope the goodbye is also good timing and this is the right time to make that decision. I hope everyone can accept and respect that." New Tottenham head coach Frank confirmed Son would start and be captain in Sunday's friendly with Newcastle at Seoul's World Cup Stadium. It could be Son's final appearance for Spurs, despite the UEFA Super Cup fixture with Paris St Germain in Udine on the horizon on 13 August. Frank said: "It's very clear that Sonny will start and lead the team out as captain. If that is the last game for Sonny, what a place to do it here in front of his home fans. It could be a beautiful ending." Son joined Tottenham in 2015 from Bayer Leverkusen and after a tricky debut campaign, he quickly became a fan favourite and subsequently a modern-day Premier League great due to his consistency and personality, clinching the golden boot award in the 2022-23 season, but he is now set to exit after 10 years in north London.

Joe Marler admitted his 'bulls*** behaviour' towards Lions call-ups wasn't right

It requires a substantial character to acknowledge when one has messed up, and former British and Irish Lion Joe Marler isn't above confessing to his blunders. In particular, the ex-England prop feels remorse for his "bulls*** behaviour" towards 'The Geography Six' during the 2017 Lions tour of New Zealand. Andy Farrell's Lions squad will wrap up their summer tour of Australia on Saturday, having already secured a series triumph by establishing a 2-0 lead. It goes without saying that matters have been considerably more peaceful than the New Zealand expedition of eight years past. That summer journey stands out for various reasons, not least because it represented the first drawn Lions series in more than six decades. Nevertheless, head coach Warren Gatland also faced criticism for selecting The Geography Six ahead of other, arguably more suitable, candidates. Scotsmen Allan Dell and Finn Russell plus Welshmen Kristian Dacey, Tomas Francis, Cory Hill and Gareth Davies were summoned to the squad to bolster the group, primarily for non-Test matches. Wales and Scotland were touring in New Zealand and Australia, respectively, meaning some of their players were favoured over other top-quality options situated further afield at the time. Marler, 35, was apparently irritated certain England colleagues, who were touring Argentina, and others were overlooked. The discontented front-rower, who hung up his boots last year, has since admitted he didn't conceal his emotions from those who received the summons. "The murmurs throughout the majority of the squad were like, 'What the f***, guys?' For me, I look back on it and I regret the way I behaved towards the six players for the majority of the time," he told guest Dan Cole on The Joe Marler Show (via Wales Online) in 2021. Marler made the admission to close friend Dan Cole on his podcast in 2021 (Image: Getty Images) "For some reason, I just went full resentment towards them as if it was their fault that they'd been called up. [Or] that when they got the call, they should have said they don't fancy it. "That's how I felt at the time, and looking back on it, I feel like that's f***ing bulls*** from me. Especially the point at which they tried subbing us off and I was like, 'F*** off.'" Marler was so furious that he point-blank refused to be taken off during a midweek win over the Hurricanes in Wellington. The Lions attempted to make their changes, but referee Romain Poite allowed play to continue when Marler declared he wasn't budging from the pitch. It's virtually unprecedented for a rugby player to defy the coaching team's instructions, regardless of whether the fixture was a Test match. Marler's reflection four years later clearly showed he recognised his mistakes. Marler made five appearances on the 2017 tour but didn't earn a Test cap (Image:) The ex-Harlequins star also revealed his thoughts on Gatland and his coaching methods. And despite the New Zealander's legendary status in certain circles, one particular scrummaging session left Marler questioning everything. "I don't think I ever got close enough to blow smoke up his a***," he added. "I found him quite an awkward character, which says a lot really because I tend to surround myself with awkward characters! "I thought he was alright. My experience was that I felt the Test team had already been picked, and it was going to be pretty hard to change a lot about that. That's just my view of it. Then I think I struggled with him when I couldn't work out this scrum drill. I couldn't work out whether he was taking the p*** out of us or whether he was being serious. "If he was taking the p*** then it's like, 'Hang on a minute, you're taking the p*** out of the midweek veg. You're not working on trying to keep the squad together.' But if he wasn't taking the p*** out of us and it was a legit drill, then it's, 'Hang on a minute, you're meant to be one of the best coaches in the world.'"
