Nithiin's Thammudu is struggling at the domestic box office. According to Sacnilk, just Rs 40 lakh on the fifth day. This figure is 40% lower than the Rs Rs 67 lakh. It made on July 7.
The film had an overall occupancy of 11.40% on the fifth day. The morning shoes had an occupancy of around 10.93%. The afternoon shows recorded an occupancy of 10.80%. The night shows fared the best on this front. They had an occupancy of 12.24%. It recorded its best occupancy in Karimnagar (47%). The film, however, stayed dull in regions such as Kakinada (6%), and Nizamabad (~2%)

Thammudu review: Nithiin's film has failed to impress critics
Thammudu received mixed reviews with critics praising the performances but panning the execution. The Times of India stated that it was 'weighed down by overblown melodrama'.
'Thammudu had all the ingredients for a stirring emotional-action drama, but in trying too hard to be everything, it ends up being less than the sum of its parts. A film that had the potential to hit the bullseye sadly misses the mark,' read a portion of the review.
The dull word-of-mouth is one of the biggest reasons Thammudu has not been able to live up to expectations and is likely to end up as a flop.
About Thammudu
Thammudu is an action drama set in the fictional village of Ambaragoudu where certain shocking events take place over the course of a single night. It features Nithiin and Kantara actress Sapthami Gowda as the lead pair. Laya essays a key role in Thammudu, which is her first Telugu film after Amar Akbar Anthony (2018).
Interestingly, Thammudu is not a remake or sequel to Pawan Kalyan's film of the same name. The 1999 release was inspired by the American drama Breaking Away (1979) and emerged as a blockbuster.

According to the latest India Box Office Report: Jan–Jun 2025 by Ormax Media, Chhaava emerged as the winner of this year at the box office, earning ₹ 693 crore. In total, 17 films crossed the ₹ 100 crore mark at the Indian box office between January and June this year. However, Chhaava is the only film to cross the ₹ 250 crore mark within the timeline. Coming to the success of Chhaava, the Vicky Kaushal film released on February 14, 2025. The film continued to run in theatres until March 21, 2025, marking its 36th day. As per multiple reports, the film held 24-hour screenings in Maharashtra due to high demand. Reportedly, 6 am and midnight shows were added for the film right after its release, recording about 97% occupancy. A little less than a month after its release, Chhaava also released a Telugu dubbed version in theatres to keep up with the demand. Later, the film made its OTT debut on Netflix on April 11. The film is directed by Laxman Utekar, and produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films.
