Tom Shanklin 2005 British and Irish Lion - "Finn Russell was amazing, him and Gibson-Park are quality, the way they pull the strings, the time they have on the ball, their decision-making makes everyone's jobs so much easier."This is probably the most competitive Lions squad ever, there is quality everywhere, two amazing half-backs, the power of the pack, people putting in 80-minute shifts in the back row."Fair play to Farrell, he has nailed it."

He posted: "Throw back 2013. Timegoes so fast, live life and enjoy the now as we spend all our lives looking to the future & forgetting to live in the current time zone. "Life is short enjoy the 1s who count and dont let anything hold you back! be the best version of yourself on the daily, All praise to god in jesus name." Fury dethroned Klitschko of the WBA, IBF and WBO world titles in an iconic 2015 upset in Germany. But he dropped all the belts just two years later amid a battle with depression and substance abuse that saw him balloon to 30 STONE. Fury returned in 2018 and drew with Deontay Wilder for the WBC title - before winning the belt in their 2020 rematch. He lost the gold in May to Oleksandr Usyk - who became the first four-belt undisputed heavyweight champ. And after losing the December rematch, Fury, 36, retired a month later. Finn Russell warns Lions want to ‘finish on a high' with a series whitewash

Finn Russell insists the British and Irish Lions have arrived in Sydney for the final week of their Australia tour intent on completing a series whitewash over the Wallabies. The rivals delivered an all-time classic in the second Test at Melbourne Cricket Ground but it was Andy Farrell's men who held their nerve to emerge 29-26 winners. Advertisement Now they are chasing the 100 per cent record Down Under that Farrell set as a pre-tour target – an achievement that has not been managed since the 1927 visit to Argentina. Lions fly-half Finn Russell (second right) is tackled during the second Test win over Australia in Melbourne (David Davies/PA). Russell, who started the celebrations wearing a chocolate garland given to some of the players by Sione Tuipulotu, views the looming Sydney Olympic Park showdown as a must win occasion. 'Everyone here has been gunning for this for their whole career. To get to the Lions is one thing and then to get a series win is another,' the Scotland fly-half said. 'This is my third tour and I've not won one so it's special to get this, bringing four nations together to be a family for five, six weeks. Advertisement 'So to get the series is amazing, but the job's still not done yet. We need to go and try and finish it off. Even though we've got the series, we want to finish on a high. Everyone wants to play in that game.' Russell has been a key figure in the Lions' first series triumph since 2013, forging an influential half-back partnership with Jamison Gibson Park that has been among the tourists' greatest strengths. On current form the best fly-half in the game, the 32-year-old is finally getting the accolades that his talent deserves after piloting Bath to Gallagher Premiership, Challenge Cup and Premier Cup success in the recent club season. 'I've learned another style of rugby at Bath. It's a different style that's about getting control back because of the backs that we have to launch,' he said. Advertisement Hugo Keenan, scorer of the try that won the second Test and clinched a series win for the Lions over Australia, celebrates with team-mates at the MCG (David Davies/PA). 'It's changed the way I look at the game a little bit. On Saturday, we had a couple of calls on their 10 metre line and I'm looking at kick plays rather than launching straight away. 'I'm loving my rugby right now. Some of the boys might say it's the most confident I've been and it's my best rugby, which might be true, it might not. 'I've not won much in my career so to have won the titles at Bath and now this, it's amazing, it's so special.'

Liverpool handed positive Alexander Isak transfer update - 'Only see him joining'

Liverpool have been linked with a move for Newcastle United forward Alexander Isak, with the Sweden international said to have asked to leave the Magpies this summer Former Liverpool star Stan Collymore has tipped Newcastle striker Alexander Isak to make the switch to Anfield this summer, claiming discussions have been ongoing for over 12 months. The Reds have been heavily linked with a move for the Swedish striker for several weeks but appeared to cool their interest when Newcastle refused to do business earlier in the window. ‌ In response, Liverpool pivoted to Hugo Ekitike, signing the French forward in a £79million deal. But now it appears Isak is pushing for an exit, with the 25-year-old telling Newcastle his wants to explore his options. ‌ As such, the door has been reopened, and Liverpool could be set to pounce. Isak has opted out of Newcastle's pre-season tour of Asia while his future gets sorted ahead of what could be a British transfer record departure from St James' Park. ‌ The Magpies are reportedly holding their ground, insisting on a valuation of more than £150m if they are to consider selling him. With the expected exits of Darwin Nunez and Federico Chiesa, combined with growing interest in Luis Diaz, Liverpool are believed to still be targeting new attackers before the transfer window closes, and Isak remains their top target. Collymore, who scored 35 goals for Liverpool, is confident the move will go ahead. "I can only see Alexander Isak joining Liverpool if he does leave Newcastle, which is now expected," he wrote in his column for CaughtOffside. "I think this has been something that's been ongoing probably for 12 months or more. I think the expectation from Newcastle was that it was going to be next season that other clubs were going to bid. "A lot of fans will want him to be sold abroad, but it doesn't work like that. If the player says that they're going to down tools unless you let me go to this specific club, it's very, very difficult for the club." The addition of Ekitike pushes Liverpool's total summer outlay beyond £265m, and should Isak arrive, the overall investment would likely top £400m. Collymore explained the reasoning behind the club's aggressive spending. He continued: "With Liverpool, I know that there probably will be some room for Diaz and or Nunez to go. But still, at the moment, if they were to get Isak across the line, you've got Diaz, Gakpo, Nunez, Salah, Wirtz, Ekitike, and potentially Isak. That's six top-quality front players. "So for me, it just says that Liverpool now are realising that if they're going to stay top of the Premier League, if they're going to continue to win Champions Leagues, but more importantly, win domestic leagues in the manner that Manchester City have done, they have to accept that Man City, Man United, Chelsea and Arsenal are going to continue to spend as more and more money pours into the Premier League. And I think that FSG have realised that they've got to do the same."
