Titleist brings 2025 T Series irons to the Charles Schwab Challenge
Last year at The Memorial Tournament, Jack Nicklaus's event at Muirfield Village in Dublin, Ohio, Titleist brought its GT family of drivers and fairway woods to the PGA Tour for the first time. On Monday at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas, the company has brought its next generation of irons -- the T Series -- out to the PGA Tour for the first time so players can test them and potentially put them in play at the 2025 Charles Schwab Challenge.
While Titleist has not released any details about the clubs, including when they will be made available to the public or their price, there are four irons in the 2025 T Series -- the T100, T150, T250, and T350. There are also two utility woods being released alongside the irons, the T250•U and U•505.
The T100 has been the most-played iron on the PGA Tour since it debuted in 2018, and in 2023 the T150 took the place of the T100•S in Titleist's lineup. The T150 has a size and shape that is nearly identical to the T100, but the lofts are 2 degrees stronger to help golfers generate more distance. In the past, the T100 and T150 have been dual-cavity designs that feature a cavity-back shape with a metal cap on the back of each head. Inside the caps, Titleist typically adds large blocks of tungsten in the heel and toe area to increase perimeter weighting and stability without making the heads larger.

Interestingly, the hollow-body T200 appears to have been replaced by the T250. Historically, the higher the number assigned to a Titleist iron, the more forgiving and distance-oriented the club, so by shifting the T200 to T250, Titleist could be indicating that the T250 will be slotted more to the game-improvement side instead of the better-player's distance category.
The T200 and T350 irons released in 2023 are hollow-body designs, created to enhance ball speed, while also housing tungsten in the heel and toe areas.
It is also worth noting that cosmetically, the T100 and T150 appear to be very similar, while the T250 and T350 appear to be very similar. On the PGA Tour, it is very common for players to blend different clubs to create a combo or blended set of irons, and Titleist appears to be making that visually easier. An accomplished golfer might opt for T150 long irons and T100 short irons, while mid- and higher-handicap players might explore mixing T350 long irons with T250 mid- and short irons.

Who's on Jack Nicklaus' golf Mount Rushmore? Sorry, Arnold Palmer
Whose faces would be carved into gold's Mount Rushmore if Jack Nicklaus made the final call? Well, obviously, his own likeness would be among the four. The other three, according to a recently resurfaced video on Twitter, would belong to Bobby Jones, Ben Hogan and Tiger Woods. Sorry, Arnie. More: How did Memorial Tournament, Muirfield Village get their names? Jack Nicklaus explains Arnold Palmer, Nicklaus' longtime friend and rival, didn't make the legendary golfer's personal cut. The video was originally shot for Golf Digest in August 2024 and was recently repurposed by a popular Twitter account called Official Tour Pro. Nicklaus, 85, became close friends with Palmer, his rival, while they and Gary Player dominated the sport in the 1960s to help golf gain popularity in the U.S. Palmer, who died in 2016 at age 87, won 62 PGA Tour titles and still ranks fifth in all-time victories behind Sam Snead, Woods, Nicklaus and Hogan. Jones, who co-founded the Masters Tournament and Augusta National Golf Club where it's played, played only as an amateur while making his living as an attorney. He's considered the greatest amateur player who's ever lived. Nicklaus, meanwhile, won 117 professional tournaments, including 73 PGA wins plus a record 18 major championships. That's three more majors than Woods, who's still playing. Nicklaus also fronts one of the world's leading golf course design and construction firms, Nicklaus Design, and has designed numerous courses – including Muirfield Village in Dublin that hosts the annual Memorial Tournament. Nicklaus has also inspired a line of ice cream flavors plus Golden Bear Lemonade, but neither has a spot on the Mount Rushmore of golf-inspired food/beverage items next to the tasty half lemonade/half iced tea mixture known as an Arnold Palmer. Blue Jackets reporter Brian Hedger can be reached at bhedger@ and @ This article originally appeared on The Columbus Dispatch: Tiger Woods makes Jack Nicklaus' golf Mount Rushmore. Who made the cut?

Inside look at Happy Gilmore's unique golf swing 29 years after his first tee shot
"Happy Gilmore 2," the long-awaited sequel to Adam Sandler's 1996 hit film, swings into action on Netflix on July 25. In the original movie, Adam Sandler plays a wannabe ice hockey star whose grandmother's house is repossessed by the IRS. To save her house, he takes his powerful swing to the golf course, hoping to win a professional tournament and the big cash prize that comes with it. However, he faces opposition from Shooter McGavin, a preppy pro golfer and full-time jerk, played by Christopher McDonald, who is determined to thwart his plans. Now, 29 years after winning his first tour championship, retired golfer Happy Gilmore, despite being quite rusty, returns to the sport to pay for his daughter Vienna's ballet school. "It's all in the hips": The Happy Gilmore swing "Happy Gilmore" introduced a wacky and very popular, almost slap-shot style swing now commonly referred to as the "Happy Gilmore swing." The PGA (and USGA) rules do not prohibit a player from taking a running or walking approach to the ball before striking it, which is the core of the Happy Gilmore swing. The legality hinges on the player not altering the conditions of the stroke. This includes not pushing, scraping, or scooping the ball, with multiple swings or altering its lie before the swing At the CIMB Classic in 2015, John Peterson became one of the first, if not the first, golfer to attempt a "Happy Gilmore" swing in an actual PGA Tour tournament. Almost three decades later, the Happy Gilmore sequel is set to introduce a new generation to Happy's infamous swing. Here's a look at Sandler executing Happy's swing in the original movie: Who is coming back for "Happy Gilmore 2" Several familiar characters will be returning to reprise their roles in the sequel. ◾Adam Sandler – Happy Gilmore ◾Julie Bowen – Virginia Venit ◾Christopher McDonald – Shooter McGavin ◾Ben Stiller – Hal L. ◾Dennis Dugan – Doug Thompson ◾Kevin Nealon – Gary Potter ◾Lee Trevino – Himself ◾Verne Lundquist – Himself Several actors from "Happy Gilmore" have passed away since the movie's release in 1996. ◾Carl Weathers – Chubbs Peterson ◾Frances Bay – Grandma ◾Richard Kiel – Mr. Larson ◾Joe Flaherty – Donald ◾Bob Barker – Himself SOURCES USA TODAY Network reporting and research; Netflix;
