Located on the pedestrianized shopping street Veldstraat, the more than 7,700-square-foot space offers Belgian consumers a complete Skechers experience.
Designed as a modern, digitally enhanced space, the Ghent flagship is outfitted with high-resolution LED screens and staffed by product specialists and educators, offering an immersive, tech-driven shopping experience.
The store houses Skechers' signature technologies, while dedicated areas also spotlight specialized collections for football, running, basketball, golf, and pickleball. In addition to its extensive footwear selection, the store carries coordinating apparel and accessories.
'Skechers Performance has been a game-changer with our advancements and comfort features, as elite pros sign up to play and win in our product on the pitch, court, and green,' said Michael Greenberg, president of Skechers.
'We opened our first-ever performance flagship store in Canada in January to huge fanfare—a new concept with our latest performance product gallery in Ghent. This will enable more athletes and enthusiasts to discover our signature comfort that performs, alongside consumers of every age who wear our lifestyle product.'
The new Skechers store joins eight retail locations across Belgium, with an additional location opening in Messancy this summer.
'Consumers in Belgium are familiar with our brand and its comfort—and with this store joining our current locations in Brussels, Antwerp and other destinations, we now have a retail presence in our three largest cities and beyond—offering more access than ever to the product portfolio that Skechers is known for around the world,' added Maurice van Berkel, general manager of Skechers USA Benelux B.V.

After Ferrand-Prévot's triumph in the Tour de France Femmes, France 'is now enamored by women's cycling'
For 36 years, France had longed to see one of its riders finish the Tour de France wearing the yellow jersey. That wait ended on Sunday, August 3, in Châtel, Haute-Savoie, located in the Alps. "Pauline Ferrand-Prévot has found her Holy Grail," wrote Le Soir. The leader of the Visma-Lease a Bike team, winner of the 2025 edition and the "new Sun Queen," has "captivated" the country in recent days, wrote the Belgian daily. Like many international outlets, the paper celebrated the women's version of the Tour, packed with drama and standout moments. This was especially true after the men's race, where the suspense was short-lived. "The fourth edition of the modern Tour was predicted to be one for the history books (...) And it certainly delivered," observed American outlet The Athletic. Like other foreign publications, The Guardian highlighted the public enthusiasm surrounding the race, validating the vision of its director, former cyclist Marion Rousse. Rousse remarked that she was delighted "not to have seen a Tour de France Femmes, but a Tour de France" along the roadside. Record viewership figures (25.7 million viewers on France Télévisions) confirmed the enthusiasm.

Campine's agile navigation through the trade war effects
Campine's agile navigation through the trade war effects Beerse, Belgium – July 31, 2025 – 20:30 CET Campine NV, metals recycling and specialty chemicals company from Beerse, Belgium and listed on Euronext Brussels, navigates in an agile way through the different effects of trade wars. Following the U.S. administration's announcement on April 2 nd, 2025, of new import tariffs for European products, Campine received official confirmation that its antimony trioxide (ATO) is exempt from these duties. This contrasts sharply with the 15% tariffs now applied to most other European exports under the recently announced EU–U.S. trade agreement. This exemption allows Campine to continue serving U.S. customers without disruption or pricing disadvantage, at a time when some Asian competitors are faced with newly imposed trade barriers. 'We have added 50% additional ATO production capacity at our Belgian facility to support ongoing demand worldwide,' said Hans Vercammen, Division Director Specialty Chemicals. 'This brings our yearly ATO output potential to about 18.000 tons.' he concludes. 'Campine sources antimony metal from a diversified range of suppliers across the globe' says CEO De Vos, 'as more non-Chinese sources have now expanded capacities, the availability of the metal has substantially improved in recent weeks, which has stabilised prices around 60.000 USD/ton. There still remains a shortage of ATO on the global market, despite weaker demands, as some customers are trying to use less or substitute the ATO temporarily or partially with alternative products. Campine became the world largest supplier of Antimony trioxide after the Chinese government issued restrictions for export of antimony and its derivates in September 2024.
