Varun Dhawan Says Wife Natasha 'Does Everything' For Baby Lara: 'I'm Just Enjoying Playing With Her'
Varun Dhawan has opened up about his fatherhood journey. In a recent chat with ETimes, Varun Dhawan said that after a child is born, mothers initially do everything and fathers step in later and become useful. Varun Dhawan said that he is still learning how to be a good father to his daughter, Lara Dhawan.
Varun said, 'I'm still figuring it out. Like how responsible I have to be, or how much of a kid I can still be or can be… I think men tend to go through this. Right now, Natasha is doing everything, and I have to give her credit. The woman does practically everything initially, and the man then comes in and becomes useful."
'I'm just enjoying playing with her. Being a dad is a lot of fun right now, and every day I'm trying to be a better dad… I don't think I'm there yet. I do watch TV at a really low volume now, else my wife will throw me out of the house," he added.
Varun and Natasha welcomed their first child together, baby girl Lara, in June 2024. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, the actor spoke about embracing parenthood. He said, 'I think when any individual, any man, becomes a parent, for the mother it is a different experience; I feel she becomes a tigress; that moment only something happens."
He added, 'But, as a man, I'd say that when we become parents, for some reason, you feel protection towards your daughter. I am sure you feel for sons also but towards the daughter… If anyone causes even so much (little) harm to her, I'd kill them. I am dead serious when I say that. Literally, I'd kill them."
On the work front, Varun Dhawan was last seen in Baby John. He will be next seen in Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, Bhediya 2, and Border 2.

'Thammudu' OTT release: When and where to watch Nithiin's action drama; read more
(Picture Courtesy: Facebook) After its theatrical release on July 4, 2025, 'Thammudu' is all set for its digital debut. The Nithiin-starrer, which struggled at the box office amid mixed-to-negative reviews, will begin streaming on Netflix from August 1. The platform confirmed the release date through an official post that read, 'Thana lakshyanni, akkani thirigi thevadaniki ee thammudu is on a mission!' The film will be available in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada, opening it up to a broader South Indian audience. A story of siblings, survival, and skill 'Thammudu' follows Jai, played by Nithiin , a gifted archer separated from his sister Jhansi in childhood. Years later, Jhansi, now a principled government officer, refuses to sign a falsified report about a chemical factory explosion in Vizag. Her moral stand turns her into a target of powerful and corrupt forces. As her world begins to crumble, Jai reenters her life. The hero is determined to protect her and her family using not just courage, but also the precision of his bow. Even with an intriguing plot, the movie had received mostly mixed reviews from the audiences. Thammudu - Official Trailer A packed cast and a new turn for familiar faces Directed and written by Venu Sriram, 'Thammudu' marks his first collaboration with Nithiin. The film also brings actress Laya back to Telugu screens, years after her brief appearance in Amar Akbar Anthony. The supporting cast includes Sapthami Gowda, Varsha Bollamma, Saurabh Sachdeva, Swasika, and Hari Teja, among others. B. Ajaneesh Loknath's music received decent responses from the viewers. ETimes gave the movie a rating of only 2 stars out of 5 and an excerpt from our official review read, "On the technical front, the film is visually appealing, with cinematographer KV Guhan capturing the tribal locales with flair. Ajaneesh Loknath's background score is atmospheric but rarely elevates the emotional beats. The action choreography is stylised, though several sequences stretch believability, further distancing the viewer from the story's emotional core. Thammudu had all the ingredients for a stirring emotional-action drama, but in trying too hard to be everything, it ends up being less than the sum of its parts. A film that had the potential to hit the bullseye sadly misses the mark."

Sanjay Dutt Reveals What He Did With Rs 72 Crore Property That Fan Left Him Before Dying
Last Updated: Sanjay Dutt returned a Rs 72 crore inheritance from fan Nisha Patil to her family. It's not every day that someone leaves you property worth Rs 72 crore. However, that's exactly what happened to Sanjay Dutt. The actor recently opened up about this unbelievable moment in his life and revealed that he chose to return the entire inheritance to the fan's family. In a conversation with Curly Tales, Dutt was asked whether it was true that a female fan had bequeathed him the property before passing away in 2018. Confirming the story, he said simply, 'I gave it back to her family." Back in 2018, a devoted fan of Sanjay Dutt, Nisha Patil, made headlines after she left her entire property, worth a massive Rs 72 crore, to the actor. The unexpected gesture left Dutt stunned. Nisha, a 62-year-old homemaker from Mumbai, was reportedly suffering from a terminal illness and had informed her bank to hand over all her assets to Dutt after her death. The actor, who made his debut in 1981 with Rocky, has enjoyed a successful, albeit controversial, career in Hindi cinema. Over the decades, Dutt starred in a range of popular films including Vidhaata, Naam, Saajan, Khal Nayak and Vaastav, cementing his place as one of Bollywood's most charismatic actors. However, his journey was interrupted by legal troubles. He was arrested under the Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act (TADA) for possessing illegal weapons linked to the 1993 Bombay blasts. Though eventually acquitted under TADA, he was convicted under the Arms Act and sentenced to five years in prison. He completed his sentence in 2016 after several paroles and furloughs. Dutt made a major comeback with the 2003 blockbuster Munna Bhai M.B.B.S., a film that became a cultural phenomenon. His life story was later adapted into the 2018 film Sanju, directed by longtime collaborator Rajkumar Hirani, with Ranbir Kapoor portraying the actor. Sanju went on to become one of Indian cinema's biggest hits. Currently, Dutt is busy with multiple projects. In 2025 alone, he has five films lined up. The Bhootnii and Housefull 5 have already hit theatres, while Akhanda 2, Dhurandhar, and The RajaSaab are set to release later this year. He is also part of the Kannada film KD – The Devil, which is slated for release in 2026. First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
