Meghan Markle planning expansion of her lifestyle and wellness line only weeks after taking ‘step back'

Yahoo09-06-2025
Meghan Markle's As Ever lifestyle brand is planning to expand.
The Duchess of Sussex has adjusted beyond selling more than just jam and flower sprinkles. According to documents obtained by Page Six, Meghan will be adding 'hospitality services in the nature of provision of food and drink' and 'hospitality services in the nature of provision of temporary accommodation' to her business.
These hospitality services would potentially include hotels and restaurants.
The Independent has reached out to representatives of Meghan for comment.
The news comes less than one week after the Duchess announced that As Ever will be restocking some of its highly sought-after products.
She teased the return of her products on Tuesday, writing on her Instagram: ''June Gloom?' Not over here! Because this month your favorite products are back.'
Meghan then issued a call-out to sign up to the brand's mailing list for fans to find out details and timing.
Products, including $15 Flower Sprinkles, $14 Raspberry Spread in Keepsake Packaging, $28 Limited-Edition Wildflower Honey with Honeycomb, $12 Herbal Lemon Ginger Tea, $12 Herbal Hibiscus Tea, and $12 Herbal Peppermint Tea from the first As Ever launch in April, sold out in less than an hour.
A date for the restock has not yet been revealed.
The news came after the Duchess said in an interview with Fast Company that she was planning to 'assess' new avenues for her brand as she wants to take a 'step back, gather data from the launch, and figure out exactly what As Ever could be.'
'I want to really focus on the hospitality angle of As Ever, but as we take the learnings, we can understand what the customer's needs are seasonally,' Meghan told the publication.
'My heart is very deeply in my home. Everything comes from being rooted in the love story of your home and garden, and then you can imagine different verticals coming out of that.'
Asked whether she might explore moving into clothing one day, Meghan responded: 'Fashion is a category I plan to explore down the line because I find it to be an intriguing space for me.'
She further echoed her decision to 'pause' production for As Ever during an episode of her Confessions of a Female Founder podcast on Tuesday with her guest, Tina Knowles.
As she and Knowles were discussing the amount of work and testing that went into their respective products, Meghan admitted she wasn't sure what to do after seeing all of her products sell out in 45 minutes.
'Then what do you do? You say, OK. We planned as best as we could,' she said. 'Are we going to replenish and sell out again in an hour, or is that annoying as a customer?'

E! News cancelled after 34 Years

The nightly celebrity news programme E! News has been cancelled after 34 years on the air. Versant, the company that oversees E! and a number of former NBCUniversal cable networks, is axing the show, which currently broadcasts at 11.30pm Eastern Time, with the final episode airing on 25 September. E! News is fronted by hosts Keltie Knight and Justin Sylvester. The series, which launched in 1991, previously had a hiatus during the pandemic but returned in 2022 after a two-year break. The Hollywood Reporter and Deadline report that employees learned of the cancellation on Thursday (24 July) morning, with a repeat episode airing that evening instead of an original episode. Around 20 people work on the E! News programme, with some understood to be offered other roles at the company and others expected to leave. New episodes will resume next week, with the network's other programmes, Access Hollywood and Access Daily, airing as usual. E! News will still exist as a digital brand and will instead focus on growth on its social platforms, which have seen impressive growth on Instagram and TikTok, Deadline reported earlier this year. E!, which currently has around 87M social media followers, puts out numerous digital programmes, including E! News The Rundown on Snapchat, Hot Goss on Instagram and RE!CAP on YouTube. The channel also airs shows including E!'s Dirty Rotten Scandals, Botched Presents: Plastic Surgery Rewind and Honestly Cavallari: The Headline Tour, hosted by TV personality Kristin Cavallari. In the shake up, NBCUniversal has split itself in two, per The Hollywood Reporter. Peacock and Bravo will stay as key pieces of NBCU, while the rest (USA Network, Syfy, E!, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen and Golf Channel) will make up the new company Versant. The company's digital businesses Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes and Golf Now will also move to Versant. Long term E! News viewers were quick to react to the news online. 'Here's to the news channel I was raised on,' one person said on Instagram. 'What is going on?' asked another. 'Honestly that was my dream job growing up,' another fan added, with a fourth echoing: 'This was my ultimate dream platform to host on. The end of an era.'

Green light for free summer parking in Ashbourne

Free parking will be introduced in Ashbourne after midday "as soon as possible" in a bid to help businesses survive a summer of roadworks. Derbyshire Dales District Council, which is responsible for the £15.9m Ashbourne Reborn regeneration project, approved the proposal at a meeting on Thursday. Councillor Joanne Linthwaite told the council chamber the roadworks in Ashbourne were having an "unprecedented" impact on businesses in the town. Councillors approved measures on Thursday to scrap parking charges after 14:00 from 28 July and for parking to be free after 12:00 "as soon as possible" at the district council's car parks until 7 September. The St John Street roadworks are due to end in September while others in Dig Street will now continue into November, the council said. The authority previously said the regeneration works will help to "transform the pedestrian experience" with wider footways and new and improved crossings around the town centre. 'Simply not surviving' Linthwaite said: "It's important to stress that Ashbourne town centre is shut down. "It's not just the roads, it's the pavements. To get into the shops you're having to go over ramps, over pipes, over cables over trenches." The Lib Dem councillor added that car parking income for the council for the last two years had been "significantly" higher than projected. She added: "I don't think it's too much to ask that some of that money effectively is used to support businesses that may not survive the eight or nine months of this work." "We're not just talking about incomes being reduced, we're talking about businesses simply not surviving." A council report said concerns had been raised by businesses that some might not be able to "endure the disruption" during the main visitor season to benefit from the works in the longer term. According to the report, 60% of businesses reported a decrease in turnover in 2025 compared to the same period in 2024. It added: "Some business properties have become vacant during the construction period. "While this is likely to be a result of a complex combination of factors and longer-term issues, anecdotally the works have been cited by business owners as a contributing factor." According to the council, free parking after 14:00 would cost £25,000, including £22,000 in lost revenue, but would encourage people "to stay longer and spend more" in the town. Steve Capes, director of place and economy at the council, told councillors that implementing free parking from midday would add about £20,000 to the cost of the scheme. Mariah Carey Announces Release Date for 16th Studio Album, ‘Here For It All'

Mariah Carey is Here For It All. The pop icon announced the title and release date of her 16th album on Monday morning (July 21), revealing that the LP fans have been calling 'MC16' will drop on Sept. 26. The news came in a brief Instagram video in which MC flipped her hair back and walked slowly in shiny black leather high-heeled boots and black cat suit in front of a giant mural of herself, with the album title spelled out over and over in black and white behind her. It ended with a brief snippet of the title track in which Carey crooned, 'I'm here for it all!' The final image appears to be the album's cover picture, featuring a broadly smiling Carey, eyes closed, filling up most of the page, her hair blowing in the wind as she holds her left arm up to her cheek and her right hand up to her chest.
