Revealed: Why the AFL doesn't want you to know who this mystery man is
It follows two recent social media posts which made chilling death-threat references to Michael Voss (Carlton) and Simon Goodwin (Melbourne).
Speaking on Channel Seven 's The Agenda Setters on Monday, journalist Caroline Wilson revealed a third coach – Luke Beveridge from the Western Bulldogs – was first flanked on-field by the same mystery man ahead of his team's round 17 clash against North Melbourne at Marvel Stadium on July 3.
As many footy fans will recall, it was the night the Kangaroos were celebrating their centenary as a club.
'He (security) was there protecting Luke Beveridge. Why Luke Beveridge needed protection on that particular night, I'm not sure,' Wilson said.
'He emerged again the following week in Carlton colours, looking out for Michael Voss. Of course there'd been that dreadful, horrible social media comment that could have been perceived as a death threat to the Carlton coach after the loss to Collingwood.

'He emerged again, also at Marvel Stadium, on the weekend, and of course, (Demons boss) Simon Goodwin addressed his presence after the game. There was a pretty nasty social media comment directed at the Melbourne coach after the (recent) loss to St Kilda.
'The AFL are very sensitive about this, they'd rather we weren't reporting it.
'But I think the fact that he's a pretty prominent-looking bloke and we've spotted him at Marvel Stadium now three times since Round 17, at a time when there's been some pretty ugly stuff directed at coaches.'
The Western Bulldogs have refused to comment as to why Beveridge was given the extra protection ahead of the Kangaroos milestone game.
'Clearly something happened to provoke Luke Beveridge getting that (extra) protection,' Wilson added.
'I can't tell you what it was, but they were obviously worried.
'But it was telling that the AFL was concerned (enough) to alleviate the worries of the wives and families, who clearly watch their husbands go out in very exposed situations.
'I mean, I don't like to be dramatic, but two guns got into the MCG earlier this year.'

England 's Ashes series down under against Australia will be shown live on TNT Sports. Exchange student, 13, in custody after 14-year-old girl fatally stabbed at NSW host family home
A teenage Chinese girl has been killed and her fellow student arrested following a stabbing at their host family's home. The 13-year-old girl, also a Chinese student, was assisting police on Tuesday afternoon following the death of the 14-year-old in the NSW Hunter region. The pair travelled to Australia as part of a program to attend a local school and were staying at the same residence. 'We're not aware of any other relationship between the two young girls other than they were both part of this program and staying with the host family,' NSW police Supt Tracy Chapman told reporters. Emergency services were called about 10.20pm on Monday after one of the hosts heard a commotion and found the 14-year-old girl with stab wounds. She was treated at the scene before paramedics took her to John Hunter hospital, where she later died. A kitchen knife was seized for forensic examination. No charges have been laid. The students arrived in Australia in late July and were expected to depart in mid-August, Chapman said. Police were working with the Chinese consulate to notify their families. Specialist detectives and the homicide squad are part of the complex investigation. 'As you can imagine, an investigation with young girls involved, language barriers, working through the consulate – they're not Australian residents obviously - and so there are obvious complications,' Chapman said.

TNT Sports to show Ashes series in Australia for third successive time as England look to regain the urn down under
TNT Sports have won the rights to broadcast this winter's hotly anticipated Ashes. It will be the third successive Ashes series in Australia that TNT – or its forerunner BT Sport – have aired following the 2017-18 and 2021-22 tours. Sky Sports showed the 2013-14 series, but it is understood they had little interest in this winter's contest despite having the rights for all home England matches. TNT's line-up and production plans for the Ashes, which starts in Perth on November 21, will not be revealed until nearer the time. However, Mail Sport understands they will take a 'hybrid' approach, with presenters and pundits working out of a studio in the UK, but some experts on the ground in Australia. They are also likely to have their own commentary team, rather than rely on the feed from the host broadcaster as they have done in the past. TNT Sports have won the rights to broadcast the upcoming Ashes series in Australia TNT's Ashes deal means the subscription channel will be the home of England matches this winter, having already secured the rights for the white-ball tours of New Zealand in October and Sri Lanka in January. Their one-year contract with Cricket Australia also sees them broadcast every men's and women's international in Australia from August 2025 to March 2026. 'We are privileged to be able to bring every ball of this much-anticipated, iconic series to TNT Sports this winter,' said Scott Young, executive vice president at WBD Sports Europe.
