Blackpink make history as first K-pop group to top Spotify's global weekly chart twice
SEOUL - Blackpink have made K-pop history once again, becoming the first K-pop group to top Spotify's Global Weekly Top Songs chart twice, with their
latest single Jump reinforcing the quartet's status as a global pop powerhouse.
According to YG Entertainment on July 19, Jump reached No. 1 on the global weekly chart dated on July 17, following their previous chart-topper Shut Down from their 2022 studio album Born Pink.
Blackpink now hold the record for both the first and the most No. 1 entries on the chart by any K-pop group.
The song's streaming performance was equally notable.
Jump garnered 44,759,923 streams in just one week - the biggest debut for any track released in 2025 so far.
A week earlier, the group set a new milestone by becoming the K-pop act with the most No. 1 songs on the chart, holding the top position for six consecutive days.
Blackpink's success is not limited to Spotify.

On the UK Official Singles Chart released on July 18, Jump debuted at No. 18 — the group's highest ranking to date and their ninth overall appearance on the chart.
The song's music video, released on July 11, also made a powerful impact online. It was the most-viewed YouTube video worldwide within 24 hours of release and has topped YouTube's Global Daily Top Music Videos chart for seven consecutive days.
Meanwhile, Blackpink are currently on their Blackpink World Tour, which spans 16 cities and 31 shows.

Anna-Maria said: 'We are very happy to be back. I had a shoulder dislocation in the summer of 2023 and I had pain and it hadn't fully recovered for Doha, so we had to withdraw from the world championships because our big goal was the Paris Olympics. 'Now we are very happy because this was the highlight of the year and we finished with a gold medal.' It has not been easy for the siblings since the Paris Olympics, where they were fourth in the duet. At the end of 2024, their long-time coach Albena Mladenova, who had guided them for 12 years, retired. Italy cancels concert with pro-Putin conductor Valery Gergiev

ROME - Italian authorities have cancelled a classical concert scheduled for July 27 following criticism over the attendance of a top Russian conductor shunned in the West since Moscow's invasion of Ukraine. Mr Valery Gergiev, who is widely regarded as close to Russian President Vladimir Putin, had been expected to lead an Italian orchestra and soloists from St Petersburg's Mariinsky Theatre, which he heads, on July 27. The Reggia di Caserta, a grand 18th-century palace near Naples which had been due to host the concert, said in a short statement on July 21 that the event had been called off. It gave no reason. The performance had drawn criticism last week from Italian politicians and international activists, including the wife of late Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny, who called Mr Gergiev an 'accomplice' of Mr Putin. The cancellation is 'good news. Not joyful, but good. No artist who supports the current dictatorship in Russia should be welcomed in Europe,' Ms Yulia Navalnaya wrote on X. Italian Culture Minister Alessandro Giuli, who last week said the concert risked turning into 'a sounding board for Russian propaganda', welcomed the organisers' 'free and undisputable' decision to call it off. 'While respecting the exceptional artistic quality of the event, the cancellation... obeys a logic of common sense and moral commitment aimed at protecting the values of the free world,' Mr Giuli said.
