New Form 6 Program Launches at 2 Public Universities
She said the pilot programme, to be implemented at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) and Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), reflects the ministry's continuous commitment to enhancing the quality and prestige of Form Six education.
'So, InsyaAllah, on June 10, we will receive the first intake of 100 students at UKM and 60 students at USM.
'They (students) will need to apply and meet specific criteria. We are truly looking forward to this pilot initiative,' she said after officiating the launch and handover of the Anti-Corruption Heroes Comic Collection published by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) and the Malaysian Institute of Translation and Books (ITBM) at the World Trade Centre (WTC), here today.
The Form Six Education Programme at public universities was announced by the Education Ministry last May 19.
According to her, the teaching staff for the programme will be provided by the ministry, and the teachers are already prepared to implement the pilot programme.
Fadhlina said that in its initial phase, the programme would be carried out at two public universities first, before being expanded to other public universities based on need and suitability.
Commenting on the launch of the comic collection, Fadhlina said it was one of the government's grassroots efforts to expose children at the primary school level to anti-corruption awareness.
'Hopefully, with these comics and interactive videos we plan to feature on the Digital Educational Learning Initiative Malaysia (DELIMa) platform, the ministry can further strengthen advocacy and public awareness, especially among our children, on the importance of combating corruption,' she said.
Earlier, Fadhlina witnessed the handing over of the Wira Anti Rasuah comic collection from MACC Deputy Chief Commissioner (Prevention) Datuk Azmi Kamaruzaman to the Director-General of Education Datuk Azman Adnan.
The comic collection is an English to Malay translation of the original book titled 'Bribe Busters: A Trace Comic Book' and is in and is in multi-format, namely an informative comic book and video to attract young readers in an effort to instill the value of integrity in students.
The publication of this book is proof of the commitment and togetherness of ITBM and MACC in supporting the government's efforts in addressing the causes of corruption through the culture of integrity, transparency and accountability starting from the school level in line with the Education Strategy contained in the National Anti-Corruption Strategy (NACS) 2024-2028.
To ensure access to this book reaches students and becomes one of the reading and reference materials in educating good values, integrity and patriotism, the book collection will be distributed to all primary schools under the Ministry of Education.

PETALING JAYA: Nearly RM1mil in cash went up in flames when anti-graft officers stormed a suspect's house here, only to find thick smoke and burning banknotes. The raid, carried out by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) on July 17, targeted the home of a project manager from a leading construction firm suspected of involvement in bribery linked to a data centre tender. According to a source, the suspect had set fire to stacks of RM100 notes, totalling close to RM1mil, in a desperate bid to destroy evidence just moments before the raiding party entered. 'When the door was opened, the team found the house filled with smoke. The smoke was pouring out from a bathroom. 'Inside, there were bundles of cash being burnt,' the source revealed. But the money trail did not end there as a thorough search of the premises uncovered RM7.5mil hidden in pillowcases, along with a stash of luxury watches and jewellery. Charred cash: The burnt stacks of RM100 notes found after the accused attempted to destroy evidence linked to suspected involvement in bribery. — Bernama MACC deputy chief commissioner (operations) Datuk Seri Ahmad Khusairi Yahaya confirmed the raid, calling the suspect's attempt to dispose of evidence 'a serious offence' under Section 201 of the Penal Code. If convicted, the suspect could face up to seven years in jail and a fine. However, he said the core of the investigation remains focused on alleged offences under Sections 16 and 17A of the MACC Act 2009, which deal with bribery and corporate liability for corruption.

Cost relief ‘tribute' likely
BUTTERWORTH: The Prime Minister has hinted at an important announcement, described as an 'extraordinary tribute' to Malaysians, which will be made either tomorrow or on Tuesday. It is expected to address efforts to ease the rising cost of living. Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the Finance Ministry is currently refining proposals that can be announced immediately to ease the burden on the people and address current issues. Anwar said that more time is needed to enhance the 'surprise' before the big reveal. 'I need a little more time to make the announcement, to allow my team under the Finance Ministry to prepare the 'surprise' in greater detail to ensure it is comprehensive. 'If not Monday, Tuesday ... give me two or three more days to refine it.' The Prime Minister said the government is looking for the best approach to balance the rising cost of living with the country's fiscal capacity, given that existing expenditure on assistance such as the Rahmah Cash Contribution and civil servant salary increases has reached billions of ringgit. 'We want to increase salaries and allowances for public servants by RM10bil this year and next year by an additional RM18bil. 'We want to do the same with the STR by RM13bil, making it RM23bil. 'Every day at the Finance Ministry, we are working hard to find an approach that can be announced soon, especially to address the cost of living,' he said when launching the Bumiputra Master Plan, the Tunas Madani programme and the JKPSB housing project yesterday. Anwar announced via social media earlier this week that he would make an important announcement as a gesture of appreciation for Malaysians. At the same event, the Prime Minister said that eight newly appointed Court of Appeal judges and 14 High Court judges are scheduled to be sworn in on July 28. He said the appointment process had gone through all the necessary stages, including the assessment by the Judicial Appointments Commission, discussions with the Malay Rulers, and the consent of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong. 'Many have asked me why it was not announced earlier. I cannot answer arbitrarily because the process of appointing judges involves the consent of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong. 'It needs to go through discussions with the Rulers and after it is agreed, it will then be brought back to the King for consent,' Anwar explained. Earlier this week, His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, consented to the appointment of the new Chief Justice of the Federal Court, Datuk Wan Ahmad Farid Wan Salleh, Datuk Abu Bakar Jais as President of the Court of Appeal, and Datuk Azizah Nawawi as Chief Judge of Sabah and Sarawak.
