Urgent plea for O negative blood donors in Birmingham
The NHS said four bank holidays, the Easter holidays and half-term break all falling within a six-week period had made maintaining steady stocks particularly challenging. Blood donations often drop over bank holiday weekends and holiday periods when people are busy and forget to donate.Gerry Gogarty, director of blood supply for NHS Blood and Transplant, said: "Our 'missing' O negative donors in the West Midlands have the power to relieve the pressure on supplies of this vital blood type."If you are O negative and haven't given blood in a while, please book an appointment to donate today. Don't hesitate - patients need you now."Our donor centres like the one in Birmingham's New Street generally have the best availability. If you can't find an appointment straight away please book further ahead or keep checking back to help fill last minute appointments or cancellations. Every donation makes a critical difference."

How has Tesco's F&F upped its game By Fabulous' Fashion Editor Clemmie Fieldsend ZARA has become a high street staple in recent years thanks to its hot-off-the-catwalk designs and affordable prices. But recently those prices have risen with the brand's popularity. However, if you are looking for high fashion inspired outfits with low price tags you needn't drag yourself to your local shops, just head to the supermarket instead. F&F has come a long way from selling a few backs of T-shirts and fluffy dressing gowns and is now a must have shopping destination for thousands. They produce good quality, long lasting and on trend clothes that puts others to shame. F&F is filled with Zara dupes and other looks inspired by our favourite shops that will set you back less than £50 - and you can get them while you pick up your dinner. I for one love F&F denim, it's durable, fits really well and has all the best silhouettes. So even if you're not looking for reasonable prices but just want good clothes, get yourself to Tesco. "The first set is sooo nice!" penned a third. Meanwhile a fourth said: "Okay I'm running to Tesco." "Slayyyyy I'm going shopping,' claimed a fifth

EXCLUSIVE Doctor warns of upsetting risk of weight loss jabs EVERY user should know about - and reveals how to combat it
A doctor has warned those who use weight loss jabs like Ozempic, Wegovy and Mounjaro to expect a disturbing change to their appearence: sudden hair loss. According to Dr Roshan Vara, hair transplant surgeon and co-founder of Treatment Rooms London, many patients struggle with this upsetting side effect and seek remedies. But, he told MailOnline, the unfortunate side effect is not directly caused by the medicine in the injections. It's most likely due to the dramatic change in nutrient intake, which can trigger deficiencies in vital vitamins and minerals needed to help hair follicles flourish. 'Products like Mounjaro or Wegovy can mean patients are unintentionally placed under a calorie restriction,' explained Dr Vara. 'This restriction causes your skin and hair to suffer as the body prioritises essential functions, diverting nutrients away from your hair and into internal organs.' Dr Vara's warning comes amid a swathe of skinny jab users taking to social media forums such as Reddit to share their concerns about hair loss. Some have written that they are so disturbed by the side effect, they've stopped taking injections, known as GLP-1 agonists, altogether. But Dr Vara said the good news is that this type of hair loss, known medically as telogen effluvium, is a temporary condition. When normal calorie consumption is resumed, the hair regrows, he said. Dr Vara urged weight loss jabbers to pay close attention to what they're eating and drinking, even if they have a much reduced appetite and fewer cravings than usual. He said: 'A balanced and nutritional calorie intake is a big part of this, as well as monitoring stress and hormonal changes. 'If patients are still reporting hair loss despite this balance, they should consult a hair loss specialist, to explore what else could be triggering this.' The warning comes as 'King Kong' weight loss jab Mounjaro, also known as tirzepatide, will be offered to around 220,000 people over the next three years under new NHS prescribing rules. Previously the potent drug, which helps patients shed up to a fifth of their body weight in a year, was available privately and at a small number of specialist NHS weight loss clinics. GPs can now prescribe the drug to patients with a BMI over 40—classed as severely obese—and at least four obesity-related health conditions, such as type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure or sleep apnoea. Mounjaro is a GLP-1 injection, which mimics the effect of a hunger hormone that is released by the stomach in response to eating and tells the brain when it is full. In 2021, Wegovy—which contains the drug semaglutide, also found in Ozempic—became the first GLP-1 injection to be approved for use in the UK. Studies suggest that around 1.5million people in the UK are using GLP-1 jabs to lose weight. However, as the popularity of the injections has risen, so too has concern about a number of little-known ill-effects. These include including nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, bone fractures, tooth damage, severe anxiety and depression, as well as more serious conditions like organ damage. Last month, it was reported that more than 100 British deaths have been linked to weight loss jabs. None of the fatalities, which have all been reported since the jabs were licensed for use in the UK, are proven to have been caused directly by the drugs. However, health chiefs tasked with policing the safety of medicines admit reports of side effects indicate 'a suspicion' they may have been to blame. In November last year, news broke of the death of Scottish nurse Susan McGowan, 58, who experienced multiple organ failure, septic shock and pancreatitis after taking just two doses of Mounjaro. Hers is the only confirmed fatality linked to the jabs in the UK. While scientists aren't completely clear on the reasons why GLP-1 drugs can trigger deadly pancreatitis, experts have suggested the medication may 'overstimulate' cells in the organ. Medications like Mounjaro interact with the pancreas by enhancing insulin release, helping to stabilise blood sugars. However, this could cause put excess strain on the organ, causing it to become severely inflammed.

Flight attendant reveals the most common reason why passengers argue on every flight
A flight attendant has shared one of the biggest issues plane passengers argue about - and she claims to experience the exact same fallout 'without fail' on every flight. Lucy Wilson, from Arundel, West Sussex, currently works as cabin crew for Virgin Atlantic, and regularly shares lighthearted content about her role on TikTok. In a recent video posted to her page, @lucywilsonnx, she revealed a 'controversial' seating preference is often the root cause of heated disagreements at 35,000 feet. According to the flight attendant, passengers are most likely to row over seat reclining. She asked her followers: 'I want to get your opinion on something very controversial. Are you a seat recliner or are you not?' Lucy continued: 'Now, every flight I do, without fail there will be someone arguing about someone in front of them reclining their seats.' She explained she was curious to understand a passenger's point of view, as cabin crew are normally indifferent to the matter. The flight attendant said: 'From a crew perspective, it's very different. We just say to passengers, "Pop your seats up for meal service," but other than that, you're free to do whatever you want.' She noted that if all passengers were to recline their seats, especially during long-haul or night flights, it would result in 'everyone getting the same amount of space.' In the comments, viewers agreed with Lucy's outlook on reclining seats, as shared, 'Get that seat back,' while another wrote, 'Get those seats reclined!!!' It comes as a flight attendant has shared two forms of common passenger behaviour that 'send her over the edge' when she's having a particularly 'bad day.' Dallas-based air hostess Cher Killough, who has worked in the industry for six years, recently took to TikTok to highlight disruptive in-flight habits that often leave her 'clenching' her jaw. Sharing a video to her page, @cherdallas, the cabin crew noted she becomes frustrated when a passenger ignores crucial safety instructions because a previous flight attendant either turned a blind eye or allowed them to do so. She added: 'Well, the last flight attendant wasn't doing her job. I have to subtly argue and just explain the reason - which normally I'm fine with doing - but if I'm already having a long day, this will have me in the galley begging God for some strength.' Cher then revealed her second in-flight gripe: passengers who continue to 'pop open' the bins after she informed them 'several times' they are full and cannot be used.
