Hulk Hogan's cause of death revealed
Hulk Hogan's death last week was caused by a heart attack, according to a Florida medical examiner's report released Thursday. Hogan, 71, whose real name was Terry Bollea, previously had leukemia and atrial fibrillation, an irregular heart rhythm, the report from the District Six Medical Examiner said. To honor the 'Hulkster,' Gov. Ron DeSantis said, flags will be flown at half-staff at all official buildings Friday, which he declared 'Hulk Hogan Day in Florida.' 'He was a true Floridian through and through,' the Republican governor wrote in a memo Thursday. Hogan was pronounced dead at a hospital less than 90 minutes after medics arrived at his home in Clearwater to answer a call about a cardiac arrest on the morning of July 24, police said. The report said the cause of death was 'natural.' 'He had been dealing with some health issues, but I truly believed we would overcome them,' Hogan's wife Sky Daily posted on Instagram. 'This loss is sudden and impossible to process,' she added. 'To the world, he was a legend… but to me, he was my Terry.' Hogan was perhaps the biggest star in WWE's long history, known for both his larger-than-life personality and his in-ring exploits. He was the main draw for the first WrestleMania in 1985 and was a fixture for years, facing everyone from Andre The Giant and Randy Savage to The Rock and even WWE co-founder Vince McMahon. Hogan's daughter Brooke Bollea Oleksy, better known by her stage name Brooke Hogan, memorialized her father in a recent social media post. 'I am so grateful I knew the real version of him. Not just the one the world viewed through a carefully curated lens,' she wrote on Instagram. Funeral plans have not yet been publicly announced.

Report: Hulk Hogan died of a heart attack
Retired professional wrestler Hulk Hogan reaches out to fans as he arrives at Randall's Wines and Spirits for a signing appearance in St. Louis in 2024. File Photo by Bill Greenblatt/UPI | License Photo July 31 (UPI) -- Former pro wrestling star turned political activist Hulk Hogan, who died a week ago at the age of 71, was the victim of a heart attack officials announced Thursday. Hogan, whose real name was Terry Bollea, died of a myocardial infarction, commonly known as a heart attack, according to cremation reports obtained by ABC News through the Pinellas County Forensic Science Center. Hogan's cause of death was certified by his primary care physician. The report indicated that the former WWE star also suffered from atrial fibrillation and chronic lymphocytic leukemia, known as CLL, a type of blood cancer of the blood and bone marrow, according to the National Cancer Institute. A heart attack is typically associated with coronary artery disease which causes severe blood vessel blockages that prohibit enough blood from getting to the heart, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Hogan's wife, Sky Daily, wrote on social media that the wrestling star also suffered complications leading up to his death, but she did not specify what they were. "He had been dealing with some health issues," but I truly believed we would overcome them," she wrote in the July 25 social media post. "I had so much faith in his strength. I thought we still had some more time. "This loss is sudden and impossible to process. To the world, he was a legend... but to me, he was my Terry. The man I loved. My partner. My heart." Clearwater, Fla. police and medical personnel responded to a "cardiac arrest" medical call at 9:51 a.m. EDT on July 24 at Hogan's home in Clearwater Beach on the Florida Gulf Coast, near Tampa. He was treated on the scene and then transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Hulk Hogan's Cause Of Death Revealed
Wrestling icon Hulk Hogan died in Florida last week from acute myocardial infarction, or what's commonly known as a heart attack, officials confirmed Thursday. The 71-year-old's death was listed in a cremation approval form as the consequence of him having a heart condition known as atrial fibrillation, which causes an irregular heartbeat, according to the record shared with HuffPost by the Pinellas County Forensic Science Center. He also had a history of chronic lymphocytic leukemia, which is a cancer that affects white blood cells, according to the document, citing his primary care physician as the source. CLL is the most common form of leukemia in adults. It typically develops slowly and can take months to years before symptoms develop, according to the Cleveland Clinic. The famed entertainer, born Terry Bollea, was taken to a Pinellas County hospital July 24 after a 911 call was placed at his Clearwater home for 'cardiac arrest,' TMZ previously reported. He was pronounced dead shortly after.
