Three men arrested for stealing electricity for bitcoin mining
Johor police chief Datuk M Kumar said the three, who were part of a syndicate, were arrested in an operation conducted with the cooperation of the Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) on April 22 and 23.
The team also seized 87 Bitcoin mining rigs worth RM217,500 in nine raids on premises around Johor Bahru, Seri Alam, Kulai, Segamat and Tangkak
'Various mobile phones, laptops, routers and several keys were also seized. The group targets residential areas and shoplots as operation areas.
'Electricity theft caused TNB to suffer losses of RM1,289,371.86,' he said in a statement today, adding that the case is being investigated under Section 427 of the Penal Code and Section 37(1) of the Electricity Supply Act 1990.

Pakistani Man Charged With Sodomy, Sexual Assault And Robbery
SHAH ALAM, July 23 (Bernama) -- A Pakistani man was charged in the Sessions Court here today on five charges involving sodomy, sexual assault and robbery of two children and two teenage boys between April and June. Muhammad Hassan, 24, however, pleaded not guilty after all charges were read out before Judge Norazlin Othman in Urdu. The accused is facing two charges of having unnatural sex with a 19-year-old and a 15-year-old boy without their consent. The offences were committed on June 26 and May 18 in an area near Section 27 Shah Alam at 10.05 pm and 1.30 pm respectively. The accused was charged under Section 377C of the Penal Code which provides for a maximum prison sentence of 20 years and caning. The man was also accused of robbing a 19-year-old teenager of RM230 in cash at the same place and time and was charged under Section 392 of the Penal Code which provides for a maximum prison sentence of 14 years and a fine or whipping, if convicted. In addition, in the same proceedings, the accused was also charged with committing sexual assault on two boys aged eight and 13 in May and June, also around Section 27. The charge was made under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017 which provides for a maximum prison sentence of 20 years and can be subject to whipping. Today's proceedings were conducted by deputy public prosecutors Nurul Sofea Jaysal and Ruthra Raj Selvarajoo while the accused was not represented.

Grandfather defends parents in autistic child neglect case
PETALING JAYA: The grandfather of six-year-old Zayn Rayyan Abdul Matin testified in court today, insisting his son and daughter-in-law were loving parents who would never neglect or harm their autistic child. Zahari Mohd Reba, 57, appeared as a defence witness in the trial of Ismanira Abdul Manaf, stating that both she and her husband, Zaim Ikhwan, deeply cared for their late son. 'Zayn was my beloved grandson. If either of his parents were not working, I would make sure they came over to spend time with him. He was very close to his parents. I believe my son and daughter-in-law were not involved in his death,' Zahari said during examination-in-chief by defence lawyer Haresh Mahadevan. The grandfather described his grief over losing his eldest grandchild, emphasising the strong bond Zayn shared with his parents. Under cross-examination by Deputy Public Prosecutor Raja Zaizul Faridah Raja Zaharudin, Zahari confirmed that Zayn, who was autistic, needed constant care and had a close relationship with both parents. He also agreed that Ismanira and Zaim treated Zayn and his younger sibling equally. On Monday, Judge Dr Syahliza Warnoh ruled that the prosecution had established a prima facie case, requiring Ismanira to enter her defence. Zayn Rayyan's parents would have never harmed him, says grandfather

Zahari Mohd Reba, 57, testified during the defence proceedings of Ismanira Abdul Manaf, saying both she and her husband, Zaim Ikhwan, loved their autistic son dearly. "Zayn was my beloved grandson. If either of his parents were not working, I would make sure they came over to spend time with him. "He was very close to his parents. I believe my son (Zaim Ikhwan) and daughter-in-law (Ismanira) were not involved in his death," Zahari said during examination-in-chief by defence lawyer Haresh Mahadevan.
