The actor, 56, apologized to the former commander in chief's daughter for his 2018 portrayal of her father in 'Vice.'
Rockwell made his plea for forgiveness during a June 17 appearance on 'Today with Jenna & Friends,' alongside Bush Hager and guest co-host — and his longtime partner — Leslie Bibb.

'So, like, when you played Jenna's dad,' Bibb, 51, began.
Rockwell interjected: 'Yes, oh my God, I'm sorry. I'm sorry for that.'
'No, you don't need to apologize,' Bush Hager, 43, reassured Rockwell. She recalled discussing the role with Bibb during the actress' March 27 appearance on the show.
'I said to Jenna, I said, 'It was really weird for me because when Sam was playing your dad, I never thought George Bush was, like, sexy?' But then suddenly I was like, 'What's happening?''

As a split-screen comparison of Bush and Rockwell in the film appeared on-screen, Bibb echoed her previous sentiment: 'Her dad has never been sexier. Look at you two!'
According to Bibb, Rockwell listened to the former president 'nonstop' to prepare for his role in Adam McKay's 2018 political satire.
'Vice' also starred Christian Bale (Dick Cheney), Amy Adams (Lynne Cheney), Steve Carell (Donald Rumsfeld) and Tyler Perry (Colin Powell).

'Did you ever just bring [the impression] out?' Bush Hager asked Rockwell. 'Like, if you'd go to a Tex-Mex restaurant, all of a sudden you'd be talking like George Bush?'
'Well, I was on 'Jimmy Kimmel [Live!],' and I remember watching that interview with your dad and Jimmy Kimmel over and over again. And he said something like, 'Dónde está Guillermo?'' Rockwell replied, sending Bush Hager and Bibb into a fit of laughter.
Bush Hager asked in disbelief, 'Did he really say, 'Dónde está Guillermo?'' to which Rockwell responded, 'He did, he did. It's a great interview.'

Nowadays, Rockwell admitted, his impression of the 43rd president has 'gone away,' instead taking the form of 'just one amalgam of Southern people.'
'Now, when I do Walton Goggins, I do George, your dad,' Rockwell said. 'Or when I do your dad, I do Matthew McConaughey or Woody Harrelson.'
'I love it,' Bibb said.
The 'Popular' alum introduced Rockwell as the 'love of [her] life for 18 years' at the top of her NBC appearance.

The couple met and started dating in 2007, after what Rockwell described as a 'kind of thunderbolt, 'Dream Weaver' moment in 'Wayne's World'' when they first saw each other.
Bibb and Rockwell went on to work together in several projects, including 2010's 'Iron Man 2' and 2015's 'Don Verdean.'
Most recently, Rockwell made a cameo in Season 3 of 'The White Lotus,' in which Bibb played Kate Bohr as part of the season's main cast. Goggins, 53, also starred.
Rockwell and Goggins have been friends for 15 years ever since they worked together on 2011's 'Cowboys & Aliens,' Goggins told Vanity Fair in an interview published on March 17.

'That is both a positive and a negative in the sense that we haven't worked together since then,' Goggins added. 'Further complicating this collaboration is that Sam is my hero. He's really one of the guys in my generation that I look up to, and he knows that.'
Rockwell made his surprise in episode 5, during which his character, Frank, meets Rick (Goggins) in Bangkok, Thailand. Frank then delivers a bizarre monologue about his sex life.
'It was riddled with anxiety because we know each other so well, and I certainly didn't want to let him down,' Goggins told USA Today, referring to filming the scene with Rockwell.
13 Rockwell had a surprise guest spot in the fifth episode of the popular HBO series' third season.
HBO
'The first words that came out of our mouths, it was as if we were these people our whole lives,' he continued. 'And it was like we truly had met up after leading this kind of criminal expat life forever. It was everything that I had hoped it would be. [Viewers] don't know the story between Rick and Frank, [but] it says a lot about excess and how one lives one's life.'
'There's not a better person I could have gone through it with than Sam,' Goggins concluded. 'I'm just so grateful for that time together with my buddy.'

Mark Rothko's former NYC home re-lists for $9.5M
Only in New York could a single Gilded Age carriage house have ties to both the abstract painter Mark Rothko and the music legend Elvis Presley. Now, the duplex where the late Rothko created his art at 155 E. 69th St. is back on the market for $9.5 million. That's the same price the property asked last year with a different brokerage, as Gimme Shelter exclusively reported. But the listing comes with a catch. 9 The famed artist Mark Rothko, who died in 1970 at age 66. Getty Images 9 The home is replete with elegant touches, such as a fireplace in this plush living area. Zoe Wetherall 9 A view of the grand layout. Zoe Wetherall 9 Fireplaces accent many areas inside. Zoe Wetherall One family owns and raised their family in a five-bedroom duplex that's now back on the market. A Japanese company owns the second half and operates a non-profit tea society foundation there, and has no plans to sell at the moment, said listing brokers Jeremy Stein and Jennifer Henson, of Sotheby's International Realty. The Urasenke Tea Ceremony Society, according to its web material, is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and understanding the 'Way of Tea' through lectures, demonstrations and classes. Both the society and the duplex owners agreed when they bought the property that they would sell the building 50 years later if both parties didn't want to hold on to it. That's 12 years from now, Stein said. 'At the moment, the Japanese company doesn't want to sell but they will have to in 12 years and the [$9.5 million] property will be worth a lot more at that time,' Stein said. He added that if someone bought the duplex now and lived in it, they'd make a large profit when they would sell the building, which is estimated at the moment to be worth around $24 million. At one point in the 1950s, the property was divided into music studios — and that's how Presley fits in. It's where he re-recorded the end of the soundtrack for his first film, 'Love Me Tender.' 9 Untitled, Mark Rothko, 1955, National Gallery of Art, Washington DC. Zoe Wetherall 'There are scenes of him [in 1956] signing autographs outside the house, and getting mobbed as he leaves in a car out of the garage,' Stein said. The home was built for a wealthy financier, James Stillman. The carriage house's next chapter was recording studios and, after that, Rothko's studio. Rothko often worked in the space and sometimes would cover the skylight with a parachute to create different types of light when he worked. The property is where Rothko created art for the famed, and non-denominational, Rothko Chapel in Houston. 9 There are five delightful bedrooms inside. Zoe Wetherall 9 The landscaped roof deck comes with views of the neighborhood. Zoe Wetherall This building is part of a 'stable row,' one of the side streets between Lexington and Third avenues where wealthy Manhattanites kept their horses and carriages during the Gilded Age. Built in 1884, the double-wide red brick structure was designed by architect William Schickel. It features arched windows, a large arched door, a one-car garage, a coveted curb cut and the enclosed garden. The private residence, which can also be accessed through the garage, opens to a large living area with a working woodburning fireplace and a glass-enclosed terrace. There's also a formal dining room, with access to the terrace, and an eat-in chef's kitchen. There are three bedrooms on this level — one with a working fireplace — as well as three baths and a laundry room. The upper level boasts an atrium at the top of the stairs with skylights. There's also a main bedroom suite lined with windows that look out to the landscaped roof terrace, plus another working fireplace. There's also a home office on this floor, along with a tea room, storage and access to the terrace. Along with the stairs, there's an elevator that goes from the top floor to the garage. In addition, a mezzanine level comes with additional storage and a wine cellar.

Tim Burton Appears Doubtful About Making ‘Beetlejuice 3'
LYON, FRANCE - OCTOBER 12: Tim Burton attends the opening ceremony during the 16th Film Festival ... More Lumiere In Lyon on October 12, 2024 in Lyon, France. (Photo by Stephane Cardinale - Corbis/Corbis via Getty Images) Beetlejuice Beetlejuice director Tim Burton said in a new interview that 'he loves the characters' but doesn't 'necessarily see' making another Beetlejuice film. Burton, of course, directed the blockbuster 2024 sequel 36 years after the release of the original Beetlejuice starring Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder and Catherine O'Hara, bringing back the trio of stars along with his Wednesday star Jenna Ortega as the daughter of Ryder's Lydia Deetz. During an interview with Burton and Ortega ahead of Netflix's Wednesday Season 2 —where it was also revealed that Netflix has renewed the show for a third season — The Hollywood Reporter asked the iconic director about Warner Bros. co-CEO Mike De Luca comment from an interview with Deadline in April where noted that development on Beetlejuice 3 was starting 'imminently.' 'Really? Nobody told me Maybe I've been replaced,' Burton told THR, while Ortega added, 'Maybe I've been, too. Maybe [her character] Astrid dies and goes to heaven instead [of the films' Netherworld]. They should just take Baby Beetlejuice on tour and send him to Hawaii.' Ortega, of course, was referring to one of the previous potential sequel ideas to the original Beetlejuice movie. After that, Burton reiterated for THR an answer to the idea about doing another Beetlejuice movie that he gave to the press (via Deadline) at Beetlejuice Beetlejuice's world premiere at the Venice Film Festival in August 2024. 'It took 35 years to make the second one, so by that time I'll be 105. I know those odds are not good,' Burton told THR. 'I really, really enjoyed making this one, and [Warner Bros.] didn't even really want to do it. We did it the same way I did the first one, with the actors doing improv. It was beautiful to see some of the old cast and have Jenna. But it's like trying to re-create the Wednesday dance scene. I love the characters, but I don't necessarily see it.' Schaben / Los Angeles Times via Getty Images) Jenna Ortega Wouldn't Be Interested In Another 'Beetlejuice' Film Unless Tim Burton Was Directing It In response to Tim Burton's answer about being replaced as director for a third Beetlejuice movie, THR's reporter, James Hibberd said to the filmmaker, 'It's tough for me to imagine you being like, 'Let somebody else do it,'' — and it's something that the director doesn't like the idea of, either. 'I feel very proprietary about everything I do, even if I don't own the characters,' Burton told THR. 'When they did the [Beetlejuice Broadway musical], I got pissed.' THR then asked Jenna Ortega whether she would consider starring in another Beetlejuice film without Burton in the director's chair. 'Oh, I would never. I also think anybody would be really wrong to get behind that project,' Ortega told THR. 'Without him involved, what is it? It is what it is because of Tim. There's no other film you can compare Beetlejuice to. So why would you do that? That would be a tad disrespectful.' Wednesday Season 2 arrives on Netflix with four episodes on Aug. 6, with Part 2 and four episodes debuting Sept. 3.
