
Dubai FinTech Summit Opens with Global Focus on Innovation and Financial Transformation
Held at Madinat Jumeirah and organised by the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), the event aims to position the emirate as a global hub for financial innovation.
Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the two-day summit was inaugurated in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, reinforcing the UAE's growing reputation as a leading FinTech centre. The event draws more than 1,000 investors, 300 speakers, and 200 exhibitors, highlighting Dubai's appeal as a business-friendly, tech-forward environment.
Dedicated start-up and country pavilions, along with the FinTech World Cup, provide a global stage for emerging solutions. Strategic discussions are being held on key trends like AI integration, sustainability, and the evolving role of digital finance.
DIFC also unveiled its first Future of Finance report, showcasing the transformative impact of AI and FinTech on traditional financial models. The report identifies major opportunities in digital banking, cloud-based infrastructure, and hybrid product development.
During his opening remarks, DIFC Governor Essa Kazim announced the Dubai Future Finance Week, scheduled to debut in 2026, which will consolidate major financial events under one global platform. It is expected to attract over 40,000 participants.
Dubai's FinTech ecosystem has expanded rapidly, with over 1,300 AI and innovation firms from 63 countries now based in DIFC. Start-ups have raised more than $4 billion globally, strengthening Dubai's position among the top five global FinTech centres.
The summit continues tomorrow with more high-level sessions featuring global financial and regulatory leaders.

Artificial intelligence (AI) has rapidly reshaped the fintech landscape in recent years, driving innovations across credit scoring, personalised banking, algorithmic trading, and fraud detection. As financial institutions race to automate and optimise operations, AI adoption continues to grow, fueling strong market forecasts for the coming years. Artificial intelligence is helping to make processes faster and more cost-effective by spotting fraud, improving lending decisions, and offering more tailored banking services. With customer expectations rising and cyber threats evolving, AI has shifted from being a helpful tool to a necessity in fintech. The Statista and Research and Markets data show that just two years ago, the AI in fintech market was valued at $22.5 billion. Since then, it has grown by nearly 45 per cent and is projected to reach $32.2 billion in 2025. With tech companies increasingly adopting AI to improve workflows and services, the market is expected to grow by another $6 billion in 2026 and $8 billion in 2027, reaching more than $46 billion by 2027. Research and Markets further projects that global fintech market value will continue growing by an average of $10 billion per year, ultimately surpassing $79 billion by 2030. This marks a staggering 145 per cent increase in just five years, a growth rate 50 per cent higher than the projected five-year growth of the autonomous and sensor technology market and 40 per cent more than the expected growth of the computer vision segment during the same period. Beyond transforming internal operations, AI is also driving the overall growth of the fintech industry. According to a Statista Market Insights survey, the fintech industry is on track to reach more than $120 billion in value this year, a 16 per cent increase from last year and a 200 per cent jump since 2022. With AI automating tasks, enhancing security, and enabling smarter, faster, and more personalised financial solutions at scale, the market revenue is expected to grow by another 17 per cent, reaching over $141 billion by 2028.

Mubadala, e&, Shorooq back Dubai dining platform Qlub's $30mln funding
Dubai-based fintech Qlub has secured $30 million in a funding round jointly led by the UAE's Shorooq and Germany's Cherry Ventures. The round also saw backing from the UAE's Mubadala Investments, Abu Dhabi-listed e&, and Legend Capital of China. The new capital will fuel Qlub's international growth ambitions and enhance its digital product offerings. Founded in 2021 by Eyad Alkassar and Mahmoud Fouz, Qlub enables diners to scan QR codes to browse menus, order meals, and make payments directly from their smartphones. Qlub's platform is currently used in more than 3,000 restaurants across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia, Brazil, Qatar, Kuwait, and South Korea.
