High-end Mediterranean restaurant coming to Mass Ave

High-end Mediterranean restaurant coming to Mass Ave

Axios6 hours ago
An upscale Mediterranean-inspired restaurant and lounge is coming to Mass Ave next month.
Driving the news: Dusk will open in early August in the space vacated by World of Beer at the end of 2023, restaurateur Nasco Angelov told Axios.
The first floor will be a 135-seat restaurant and patio, which Dusk is expanding beyond the outdoor space World of Beer occupied.
The basement will be a weekend-only speakeasy serving craft cocktails and bottle service with space for about 80.
Zoom in: Angelov said the menu will be Mediterranean-inspired, drawing from Greek, Lebanese, Moroccan and Italian cuisines.
Entrees will be priced between $30-$50, he said.
The vibe: Swanky. Think Miami or Tulum, Angelov said, with a big city lounge element.
The large marble bar will be backlit and flanked by fire towers built into the tiled wall.
DJ booths will be on both floors, and there will be live music on the weekends.
Wood panels hang from the ceiling and rich grasscloth covers most of the walls — with the exception of a wall of original 1900 brick that the team cleaned up and restored to honor the building's 125-year history.
Plus: Wait until you see the wallpaper in the women's bathroom. It may single-handedly bring back the bathroom selfie.
If you go: 409 Mass Ave.

Lauren Sánchez's Wedding Outfit Reportedly Stolen By Mysterious Party Crasher

Just days after Lauren Sánchez's over-the-top, star-studded wedding to Jeff Bezos in Venice, drama continues to unfold. Recent reports have revealed that one of the journalists' wedding outfits was stolen by an uninvited guest. In addition, it was also reported that another of Sánchez's dresses nearly caught fire, adding to the chaos of her and Bezos's big day. In a shocking post-wedding twist, one of Sánchez's elaborate wedding outfits has mysteriously vanished. The stolen gown, part of a jaw-dropping 27-dress wardrobe curated for the three-day Venetian celebration, disappeared under curious circumstances. The Daily Mail cited a report from the Italian tabloid Corriere della Sera, which stated that the dress was reported missing shortly after the lavish event. However, the specific designer behind the gown has not been publicly revealed. The alleged culprit is an elegantly dressed woman who reportedly slipped past tight security without an official invite. While she was 'kindly escorted out,' her personal information wasn't recorded, and that's when the disappearance occurred. It is believed that this mysterious gatecrasher may have stolen one of the bride's gowns during the chaos of the weekend-long festivities. As if a stolen wedding dress wasn't enough, another of Sánchez's gowns nearly went up in flames. Reports claim that a Dolce & Gabbana gown intended for the ceremony caught fire at some point during the celebration. Thankfully, it wasn't the dress she wore to say 'I do.' That particular gown, designed by Domenico Dolce himself, was a breathtaking masterpiece featuring a high lace turtleneck, floral sleeves, and a sweeping train. Sánchez dazzled guests as she walked down the aisle on the island of San Giorgio Maggiore in a luxurious ensemble, handpicked after a magical fitting in Milan. 'It was more powerful than I thought,' she told Vogue of the moment she tried it on for the first time, describing how the dress made her feel like a "princess." Although Bezos reportedly begged to see the dress ahead of the ceremony, Sánchez stuck to tradition. 'I almost gave in,' she admitted in the interview with Vogue. 'But I want it to be a surprise. As you get a little older, not many things surprise you. I can't wait to see his face.' Sánchez gave fans a glimpse of the stunning moment on Instagram, sharing a romantic post-wedding photo of her and Bezos, captioned with their wedding date. She also uploaded a carousel of behind-the-scenes photos, including shots of the dress being styled by Dolce himself as well as assistance from her glam squad. 'Not just a gown, a piece of poetry,' she wrote in the post's caption. 'Thank you @dolcegabbana for the magic you made.' After exchanging vows in lace, Sánchez later wowed wedding guests in a rose pink Atelier Versace gown, custom-designed by Donatella Versace herself for the final wedding party. The ethereal silk chiffon dress featured delicate pleats and a corseted bodice adorned with rose gold, bronze, and gold Swarovski crystals. It was a shimmering statement of opulence, paired with a jewel-encrusted black clutch bag emblazoned with 'Mrs. Bezos' in dazzling diamonds, solidifying her new status in true style. The Venice wedding hosted A-listers galore, including Oprah Winfrey, Leonardo DiCaprio, and the Kardashians, who watched as Sánchez and Bezos took their first steps into forever. Kim Kardashian had nothing but glowing words for her friend Lauren Sánchez following her lavish wedding to Bezos. Taking to her Instagram Stories page, Kim shared her reaction. She posted a photo of Sánchez from her Vogue bridal shoot, writing, 'LEGENDARY.' In the next slide, featuring Sánchez in her wedding gown, Kim gushed, 'What a beautiful bride you are @laurensanchezbezos!!! We all cried watching you walk down the aisle in pure bliss!' Reflecting on the enchanting setting, she added, 'The forest where you got married was magical but the love we all felt in the room is what we will never forget and why we all love and support you both so much!' Kim ended her tribute with heartfelt support, saying, 'Forever rooting for the happiest couple! You deserve it all.'
