
Name chosen for new Oro-Medonte public school set to open this fall

Horseshoe Heights PS is located at 739 Horseshoe Valley Road, next to Horseshoe Valley Memorial Park on Line 4 North in Oro-Medonte.
A new elementary school in Oro-Medonte officially has a name: Horseshoe Heights Public School.
The Simcoe County District School Board (SCDSB) approved the name during a Board of Trustees meeting earlier this week.
According to SCDSB, naming the new school involved extensive community consultation, with families, students and residents invited to suggest names to reflect the surrounding environment, the area's history, and the diversity of the future school community.
'One hundred unique name submissions were received,' the board noted.
