Subject: Joe Burrow misses Cincinnati Bengals practice for Met Gala
Message: Call me old school, but I didn't like that (Joe) Burrow missed the team's practice to be at the Met Gala. I get it's optional, but Tee (Higgins) and Ja'Marr (Chase) were there. Don't you think it would've sent a strong message to the fans and rookies for Burrow to be there, too?

Reply: It really wasn't a big deal. Burrow was back at Paycor Stadium for voluntary practice on Wednesday.
Yeah, I understand it may have looked odd for a hard-working, team-first superstar like Burrow to miss practice for a New York City fashion show. Here in flyover country, we don't really like our sports heroes showing up on the red carpet.
But it's early May and Burrow has certainly built up enough locker-room goodwill that no one inside the Bengals organization is questioning his priorities. He also gave the team a heads up that he would miss the first few voluntary team sessions. Burrow is expected to attend most of the practices over the next month.
Now, if you want to question Burrow's fashion sense, have at it. Dude wears some ugly stuff, although I liked the classy suit he wore at the Met Gala.

And before the fake-name, costume-wearing Bengals fans take to social media and rip me, I'm joking. Burrow can wear whatever the heck he wants. It's not hurting me. Just like it didn't bother me one bit when he posed for a photo with Donald Trump last year.

Trey Hendrickson-Bengals contract standoff gets blunt take from Chad Johnson

The Cincinnati Bengals are set to play their first preseason game of 2025 next week, but they might be without Trey Hendrickson. He reported to training camp this week, but the contract extension standoff hasn't changed. Hendrickson continues to battle the Bengals in a contract standoff over a long-term extension. The situation escalated this offseason when the reigning sack leader pushed for more guaranteed money than the team was willing to offer. On a recent edition of 'Nightcap,' former Bengals wide receiver Chad Johnson weighed in on the standoff, noting that Hendrickson decided to show up for training camp for one reason. 'You gotta understand, Trey Hendrickson only came back so he doesn't have to pay the fines,' Johnson told Shannon Sharpe and Joe Johnson. 'He's not there. He's not there, you know—on good notice, right? He's only there because he don't want to pay the fines. 'And then—well, we're still at a standstill. There's been no forward progress in us getting the deal done. I'm assuming us to be far off. The only reason he's there is because [he] don't want to accumulate a certain amount of fines.' MORE:Pacman Jones gives unfiltered take on Trey Hendrickson, Bengals contracts and Joe Burrow vs. Patrick Mahomes Moreover, Johnson went on to say that Hendrickson and his camp have to reconsider their stance as he shed light on how Bengals owner Mike Brown usually handles these contract standoffs with players. 'One thing I know about the Brown family — you're not going to bully Mike Brown,' Johnson added. 'It's not happening. If his feet are cemented and he says, 'This is what we can do, and this is what we can pay,' that's what it's going to be. You know? 'And I'm hoping, I'm hoping, because defensively we need all hands on deck. We need all the help we can get. Trey Hendrickson had a hell of a year last year and the year before. I would love for him to be compensated as such.'

File Photo by John Angelillo/UPI | License Photo Aug. 1 (UPI) -- Demi Lovato released her new song "Fast," alongside an accompanying music video Thursday. The music video begins as the singer, 32, walks confidently down a dark street. "I'm not so sure, I've ever felt like this before," she sings. She continues walking and singing, seemingly unfazed by weight-lifiting men, an exploding car and a nun smoking a cigarette. Her husband Jordan Lutes offered his support of her work on Instagram, commenting on her post announcing the latest drop. "Beyond proud of you baby," he wrote. "This song and video are insane." The song will appear on her upcoming album. "She is such a master in the studio. This album is about letting inhibitions go, and we had so much fun making this music! It really comes across throughout," Zhone, who executive produces the project, told Rolling Stone. 2025 AFC North Odds: Can Steelers, Bengals Overcome Ravens?

Arguably the most competitive division in football now has three superstar quarterbacks and a polarizing rookie QB in the fold. Which squad is favored to win the AFC North? Here are the odds at DraftKings Sportsbook as of July 31, as well as what to know about the division. AFC North Ravens: -150 (bet $10 to win $16.67 total)Bengals: +250 (bet $10 to win $35 total)Steelers: +500 (bet $10 to win $60 total)Browns: +3000 (bet $10 to win $310 total) What to know: Another AFC division streak? Kinda. Baltimore has won the division twice in a row, but Cincinnati won it in 2021 and 2022. Pittsburgh won it in 2016, 2017 and 2020, while the Ravens won it in 2018 and 2019. Needless to say, this is one of the most competitive divisions in the NFL. Baltimore is a favorite to three-peat, behind two-time MVP Lamar Jackson. Cincy is second, as it returns arguably the most lethal QB-WR duo in the NFL, Joe Burrow and Ja'Marr Chase. Pittsburgh lands third. Can its new, old QB Aaron Rodgers have a resurgence? Key addition: There is a new quarterback in Pittsburgh — ever heard of him? Aaron Rodgers joins his third team, after 18 years in Green Bay and two with the New York Jets. Despite his laundry list of individual honors — four MVPs, four first-team All-Pro selections, 10 Pro Bowl nods — Rodgers only has one Super Bowl ring and one Super Bowl MVP to his name. Pittsburgh made the playoffs in 2017, 2020, 2021, 2023 and 2024, but it is 0-5 in those playoff appearances. Its last playoff win came in 2016. Rodgers' last playoff win came in 2021 in Green Bay. The Steelers acquired DK Metcalf on the outside, and are hoping that a fully healthy Rodgers can pick up where he left off last season, when he threw for 3,897 yards, 28 touchdowns and 11 interceptions in 17 starts.
