It has now been revealed that the defender had to fly back to the US to prepare for her next club match.
Carter plays for New York side Gotham FC and they face the Chicago Stars on Saturday.
The club were harshly unwilling to give her any extra time off to celebrate and she was summoned back for training.
It means Carter will also miss the open-top bus parade on Tuesday afternoon.

Kelsey Leonard lands second-round stoppage win in first professional fight
Kelsey Leonard landed a second-round stoppage victory in her first professional fight in Belfast on Saturday night. The Naas native faced English fighter Kira Carter at Girdwood Community Hub in Belfast with several Irish boxers on the card. The 26-year-old stepped back into the ring following defeat to Michaela Walsh at the National Elite Competition in June, but it didn't take long for her to snatch a first professional win. The Kildare boxer spoke to TG4 after the win: 'Really happy. Excited the journey has finally started, it was a bit cagey in the first round, just trying to get a feel of everything. It was very different, so I'm happy with it.' She added: 'I'm happy with the outcome, Kira is a good opponent, so, I did have those nerves coming in, she has a lot of good wins in her career, she hadn't been stopped many times either, it was a tough opponent but, once I trusted in myself and put the pressure (it came off).' Asked what she wants next, Leonard said: 'I want to get used to the professional scene as much as I can, get as many fights as I can and work my way up this year and see where it goes.' 'That would be the ideal slot,' Leonard said when asked about fighting on Michael Conlan's undercard later this year. 'But we miss Bruno sometimes when he's playing as a No 10 but there are times when he's playing there and can't get the ball. 'He runs a lot and has a lot of endurance. He's smart and ready for the physicality, playing deep or as a midfielder.' Fernandes is a goalscorer and a goal threat. He will not be as effective from deeper. 6 Alternatively, his desire to get forward and impact the game could result in a lack of positional discipline, a flaw which opposing managers will swiftly jump on. Amorim tried to paint a different picture, arguing that with his side now having more thrust and dynamism going forward: 'If you have a player with the quality of Bruno, without pressure on the ball, it gives us more options.' Yet if United had banked Al-Hilal's £100m — and Al-Nassr may bideven more — they might have landed a more natural and defence-minded option to fill the void. Round pegs, round holes. Amorim's system relies on wing-backs providing width but the danger is them being caught out of defensive position, with the onus on the central midfielders to cover any shortcomings. That is not Fernandes' prime asset. Had he chosen Saudi in June, it would have left broken hearts . Doing it now might cause despair. Yet, perhaps, getting cash to spend would be better for the club — presuming they use it wisely. 6

The survey, by charity Sport in Mind, revealed that rising childcare costs, lack of support, and the pressures of juggling work and parenting are pushing many to breaking point. Neil Harris, CEO of Sport in Mind, said: 'Parents told us their biggest concerns around mental health this summer stem from the pressure of juggling work and parenting, the lack of support or personal time, and growing financial strain. 'The ongoing cost of living crisis is hitting families hard, with rising childcare and activity costs making it even tougher to keep children active and mentally well during the holidays.' Read more uk news Childcare costs have rocketed in recent years, with holiday clubs now averaging £157 per week, per child. Other extra-curricular activities have also become just as expensive, with nearly a quarter of parents saying that financial barriers prevent their child from participating in sport over the summer holidays. These hefty price tags along with a lack of organised activities and preferences for screens or video games, leave kids vulnerable to mental health issues, the charity says. Sport in Mind is delivering free sessions via the Holiday Activities Programme, a government-funded scheme helping children stay active and engaged during school breaks as well as free Youth journals. Seasonal affective disorder (SAD) is a type of depression that affects one in 20 people in the UK. While traditionally associated with dark winters, 'reverse SAD' affects ten per cent of those with the condition. Clinical psychologist Dr Andrea Pickering, fellow of the British Psychological Society and clinical director at Clinical Partners, said: 'It is triggered by seasonal changes, most commonly during winter but sometimes in summer. 'Like other forms of depression, it's linked to chemical changes in the brain, particularly involving serotonin which regulates mood, and melatonin which controls sleep. 'In winter, less sunlight leads to lower serotonin levels and increased melatonin production. 'In summer, the brain can become overstimulated by too much sunlight or heat, which can disrupt sleep cycles and leave people feeling agitated, anxious and unbalanced.
