Ajay Devgn and Mrunal Thakur's Son Of Sardaar 2 release date has been postponed from July 25 to August. The reason for the delay was not disclosed.
Ajay Devgn and Mrunal Thakur's Son Of Sardaar 2 was slated for release on July 25. The film's release date has now been postponed. The upcoming comedy-drama will hit the screens on August 1, 2025, coinciding with Mrunal's birthday. The reason behind the delay was not disclosed by the makers.
The release date of Son of Sardaar 2 was postponed less than a week before it was to hit the screens. Announcing the same, the makers dropped a new poster, which said, 'The laughter riot just got a new date. Son of Sardaar 2 will now release in cinemas on 1st August 2025 worldwide." Take a look:
The trailer of Son of Sardaar 2 released on July 14. It began with a reference to its prequel, Son Of Sardaar, that released in 2012. Shortly into the trailer, Ajay took a dig at Pakistan, calling them out for dropping bombs in our country. There is also a major Sunny Deol reference from Border 2. Also featuring Mrunal, one can also see a little more into her chemistry with Ajay, after their hook step from Pehla Tu Duja Tu went viral. Mukul Dev also appears on screen for the last time, accompanied by Vindu Dara Singh, Ravi Kishan and Kubbra Sait.
While Son of Sardaar 2 evokes a sense of nostalgia, the film is signficant for another reason – It marks model-actor Mukul Dev's last film. His close friend, Vindu, spoke to ETimes about his performance in the film. He said, 'He has done such fantastic work in SOS 2. He was my Tony and I was his Tito. He had an amazing role and people are going to roll on the floor laughing after seeing his work in July when the film releases. But unfortunately, he will not be around to enjoy the success and see the love."
Directed by Vijay Kumar Arora, Son Of Sardaar 2 boasts a power-packed cast including Ravi Kishan, Sanjay Mishra, Mrunal Thakur, Neeru Bajwa, Chunky Panday, Kubbra Sait, Deepak Dobriyal, Vindu Dara Singh, Roshni Walia, Sharat Saxena, Sahil Mehta, and the late Mukul Dev.
Presented by Jio Studios and Devgn Films, and produced by Ajay Devgn and Jyoti Deshpande, Son of Sardaar 2 is a Devgn Films and SOS 2 Limited production. It is produced by N R Pachisia and Pravin Talreja, with co-production by Kumar Mangat Pathak. Son Of Sardaar 2 will now release on August 1, 2025.

Lace, Slit, And A Red Lip: Fatima Sana Shaikh's Afterparty Look Was Pure Fashion

Last Updated: Fatima Sana Shaikh stole the spotlight with effortless elegance in an off-shoulder, floor-length gown with a thigh-high slit. A Bollywood afterparty is always a star-studded celebration. The Dirty Magazine's afterparty was no different. Among the many head-turners that evening, Fatima Sana Shaikh stood out with effortless confidence and quiet elegance. Known for her unique fashion choices and fearless vibe, Fatima delivered one of the most talked-about looks of the night. She delivered a perfect fit for the edgy aesthetic the event embraced. Fatima Sana Shaikh wore a stunning off-the-shoulder, floor-length gown that balanced timeless charm with a modern edge. The dress featured a bold thigh-high slit and was crafted from rich lace or embroidered fabric. A contrasting inner lining brought structure to the flowy outer layer. The gown's muted monochrome palette – in black, white and grey – let the fabric and silhouette do all the talking. Fatima completed the look with open-toe heels that complemented her outfit without stealing focus. Accessories were minimal but well chosen: a statement ring, a couple of subtle jewellery pieces and an overall air of effortless polish. Her hair was slicked back in a wet-look style that highlighted her strong features and gave the whole look a modern, runway-inspired feel. And the final touch? A bold red lip – timeless and striking. On the work front, Fatima was last seen in Metro… In Dino. The Anurag Basu directorial also featured Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Ali Fazal, Konkona Sen Sharma and Pankaj Tripathi. The film explored urban relationships with a fresh perspective and further showcased Fatima's versatility. Her Netflix film Aap Jaisa Koi, released on Netflix on July 11, the film promises an emotional storyline and another solid performance from Fatima. view comments First Published: July 20, 2025, 12:28 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
