BGT choirmaster works with Year 6 on leavers' song

Yahoo9 hours ago
Year 6 pupils prepared for their end-of-year assembly with the support of a professional vocal coach.
Children at Hackleton Primary School in Northampton had been working with Gareth Fuller, a choir director known for his appearance on Britain's Got Talent and involvement in Northants Sings Out.
The pupils will perform a rendition of Bruno Mars' Count on Me at their leavers' service next week.
Marley, one of the Year 6 students, said: "I'm finding it very enjoyable and very fun. I've never done anything like this. I've never even had a proper microphone in my hand."
The leavers' song had become a tradition at Hackleton Primary, with pupils selecting a track that reflected their shared memories and friendships.
Teachers said this year's song captured the spirit of support and togetherness as the Year 6 cohort prepared to move on to secondary school.
Jo Roberts, deputy headteacher and Year 6 teacher, said: "It works really well. The message is about how they can still count on each other, even though they'll be going their separate ways.
"The children have really enjoyed working with Gareth; it's been a special experience."
The rehearsals, held at Fit Dog Studios in Gayton, Northamptonshire, offered pupils the chance to step out of the classroom and into a professional recording space – many for the first time.
Gareth Fuller said: "[The children are] really, really good. It's so nice for them to experience something like this before heading into the big world of secondary school."
Pupil Amelie added: "I'm quite confident now – Gareth has taught us new ways to sing. I think it will be pretty amazing once we get on that stage."
The leavers' performance is set to take place next week.

Lana Del Rey's Fan-Loved Album Mounts A Multi-Chart Comeback

Lana Del Rey's Ultraviolence returns to three U.K. charts, while Born to Die remains a mainstay ... More across five, climbing as high as No. 19 on vinyl. BARCELONA, SPAIN - MAY 31: (EDITORIAL USE ONLY) Lana Del Rey performs in concert during Primavera Sound Festival on May 31, 2024 in Barcelona, Spain. (Photo by Xavi Torrent/Redferns) Born to Die is the album that keeps Lana Del Rey on charts all around the world consistently. Her debut project seems to never completely disappear from rankings in places like the United States and the United Kingdom, where it not only continues to rack up enough streams to appear on a tally or two, but also sells consistently. This week in the U.K., Del Rey claims a pair of successful albums, as Ultraviolence joins Born to Die on multiple tallies, mounting a surprise comeback. Ultraviolence Returns to Multiple Charts Del Rey pushes Ultraviolence onto three charts in the U.K. this frame, and the full-length didn't appear on any of them last week. At the moment, Ultraviolence shows up highest on the Official Physical Albums chart, where it lands at No. 88. The same project returns to the Official Albums Sales tally at No. 97 and barely makes it onto the main ranking of the most popular albums and EPs in the country, coming in at No. 99, in second-to-last place. No. 1 and Hundreds of Weeks on the Charts Ultraviolence has already ruled both the Official Albums chart and the Official Physical Albums ranking in the past, and it peaked at No. 5 on the list of the bestselling collections of any kind throughout the U.K. Del Rey has kept Ultraviolence on the Official Albums Sales tally for 91 weeks, while it has ranked as one of the bestselling physical projects for 121 frames. It's only managed 29 stays on the main albums list so far, but it adds to that sum every once in a while, and it was last seen on the Official Albums chart in January of this year. Born to Die Still Dominates Born to Die is still the big winner when it comes to Del Rey's catalog in the U.K. Even as Ultraviolence returns, its predecessor appears on five rankings, and it lives inside the top 40 on all of them. Born to Die improves its standing on all but the Official Albums Streaming chart, where it drops three spots to No. 34. That breakout set, which dropped in 2012 and turned Del Rey into a household name all around the world, currently sits highest on the Official Vinyl Albums tally, where it jumps from No. 33 to No. 19, as sales of the classic on wax have apparently grown considerably from one week to the next.

‘Bruno Mars Net Worth' Trend Explained Amid Out of Debt Joke

Bruno Mars' net worth started trending online recently after the 'Grenade' hitmaker made a joke about a rumor from last year, which suggested he was in debt. The 16-time Grammy winner recently surprised fans at BLACKPINK's concert in Los Angeles on July 13, 2025. The South Korean girl group stopped by the city as part of their ongoing Deadline World Tour. But why is Bruno Mars' net worth trending, and what's the joke about him being out of debt? Here's everything you need to know. Bruno Mars shared a post on Instagram, highlighting his surprise appearance at BLACKPINK's concert at SoFi Stadium in L.A. At the concert, he joined Rosé in performing the duo's hit song 'APT.' 'Almost out of debt BehhhhhBehhhhh!!!' Mars captioned the post, adding, 'Preciate You ROSAAAAYYYYYY!!!! The caption humorously references a rumor that made the rounds last year. This rumor, which supposedly originated from a NewsNation report, alleged that the 'Die with a Smile' singer amassed a $50 million debt to MGM Resorts. An insider claimed that MGM 'basically [owned]' Bruno Mars. They added, 'He makes $90 million a year off of the deal he did with the casino, but then he has to pay back his debt… after taxes (Mars makes $1.5 million per night).' MGM Resorts subsequently debunked the rumor in a statement to multiple outlets. 'We're proud of our relationship with Bruno Mars, one of the world's most thrilling and dynamic performers,' the statement read. 'From his shows at Dolby Live at Park MGM to the new Pinky Ring lounge at Bellagio, Bruno's brand of entertainment attracts visitors from around the globe,' it added. (via Complex) It continued, 'MGM and Bruno's partnership is longstanding and rooted in mutual respect. Any speculation otherwise is completely false; he has no debt with MGM.' MGM concluded its statement, expressing excitement at 'creating unforgettable experiences' for guests. This wasn't the first time Mars made a joke about the debt rumors. Early this year, the pop icon celebrated a major milestone in his career — reaching 150 million monthly listeners on Spotify. He took to Instagram Stories to encourage fans to continue streaming his music, jokingly adding, 'I'll be out of debt in no time.'
