Govt draws up modalities to ensure regular health check-up of CCI inmates across Odisha
The departments of Women and Child Development (W&CD) and Health and Family Welfare (H&FW) have jointly laid out specific directives to be implemented through convergence at both the state and district levels.
As decided, all CCIs in the state will be mapped to the nearest health facilities such as district hospitals, CHCs, PHCs, urban primary health centres (UPHCs), or Ayushman Arogya Mandirs (AAMs). This mapping is aimed at ensuring easy and consistent access to healthcare services for all children in institutional care. CCI staff will coordinate with these mapped facilities to facilitate regular health check-ups for every child.
Health department sources said, each child will be issued an individual health card documenting immunisations, growth monitoring, medical check-ups, treatments, and referrals in order to track health outcomes effectively. These records will be updated during every health visit and reviewed periodically by government officials during institutional inspections, she said.
The Ayushman Arogya Mandirs will provide teleconsultation services through a hub and spoke model, connecting community health officers and medical officers with specialists at secondary and tertiary hospitals. CCIs will be encouraged to use this facility whenever necessary.
This apart, mobile health teams under Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK), which are currently engaged in screening school-aged children, will extend their services to CCIs and include these institutions in their visit schedules.
Keeping in mind the mental health needs of children in institutional care, CCIs will be linked with the district mental health programme (DMHP) teams for regular assessments and counselling support.
The state government has directed district collectors and CDMOs to facilitate convergence and coordination between the district child protection units and the district health administrations. A joint orientation session will be organised for CCI staff, DCPUs, and local health officials to train them on using health facilities, teleconsultation portals, and mental health support systems.
The government will review the initiative at the district level with compliance reports submitted to the state authorities.

In the article, Devi shared that to ensure that 'benefits reach the last mile swiftly, transparently, and efficiently', the Ministry of Women and Child Development roped in technology in its programmes. The benefits include improved 'access to nutrition, education, legal safeguards, and essential entitlements'. A key example is the Ministry's Poshan Tracker initiative -- 'driving the national vision of a Swasth Bharat, Suposhit Bharat'. Under the initiative, the Anganwadi centres serve as digitally empowered community hubs bridging the urban-rural divide. Recognised with the Prime Minister's Award for Excellence in Public Administration (2025), it also provides digital training modules to Anganwadi workers for early childhood education. "Poshan Tracker is transforming nutrition monitoring with real-time dashboards, geo-tagged Anganwadi Centres & face recognition for Take Home Ration distribution -- ensuring transparency and efficiency across India," Devi wrote on X. Further, under the Saksham Anganwadi initiative, 14 lakh Anganwadi centres across the nation have been integrated with the Poshan Tracker. 'Over 10.14 crore beneficiaries, including pregnant women, lactating mothers, children under six, and adolescent girls, are now registered on Poshan Tracker,' ensuring last-mile delivery, Devi said.

City hospitals don't have adequate infra, govt. is working to address it: CM
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday highlighted the need to create a better atmosphere for doctors, stating that hospitals are overburdened due to inadequate infrastructure. On the occasion of National Doctor's Day, she assured that 'the government is working towards enhancing medical infrastructure' in the city. 'Today, there is immense pressure on Delhi's is a need for ICUs and trauma centres, but so far, we haven't been able to build enough infrastructure to meet that need,' Ms. Gupta said while addressing the media at an event organised by Santosh Eshwar Foundation and Lok Nayak Hospital. Hitting out at the Aam Aadmi Party, she said the previous government did not work on this front. 'Our government is working on every front to enhance the medical infrastructure. It might take some time, but our goal is clear: nobody should lose their life because of a lack of treatment in Delhi,' she said. In an X post, she heaped praises on doctors, stating that 'their commitment brings hope to countless Indians every day'. 'The launch of 33 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs and 17 Jan Aushadhi Kendras is a reflection of our resolve to ensure accessible, affordable, and dignified healthcare for all,' she said in the post. 'It is our endeavour that all the doctors of Delhi get a stress-free, safe and modern work environment. With this goal, the Delhi government is working in mission mode to equip hospitals with modern technology and basic facilities,' she added.

Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], July 1 (ANI): Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, on Tuesday, appealed to all the doctors and said that the profession is not just a business but a 'noble profession', which is a symbol of service, compassion and dedication. He said that the faith, respect and reverence that the public has for the doctor should be strengthened further. 'All the doctors are requested to always keep alive their image with their conduct, service and dedication, which the society has given to the doctor by calling him 'God of the Earth',' he said. While congratulating and wishing all the doctors on National Doctors Day at the program organised on Doctors Day at the Chief Minister's residence, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that you people provide life-giving service to the lives of countless people with your service, dedication and compassion. 'A unique confluence of knowledge, science and spirituality is seen in Indian culture. Our culture is not only based on faith and belief, but it is also the result of a deep scientific approach, contemplation and research,' CM Dhami said. The Chief Minister met and interacted with each doctor who attended the program and felicitated them. The Chief Minister stated that the government is establishing a medical college in every district of the state, enabling people in remote areas to access modern health facilities within their own district. 'Out of these, five medical colleges have already been made operational, while the construction of two more medical colleges is also in progress. Super speciality departments have also been established in Dehradun, Haldwani and Srinagar Medical Colleges, where state-of-the-art medical facilities like cardiology, neurosurgery and urology are being provided,' he said. 'The construction work of the state's first modern cancer institute is also in progress in Haldwani. Along with this, we have also started heli ambulance service for every area of the state, which is proving to be a lifesaver for the people of remote areas in any emergency,' the CM added. Chief Minister Dhami said that under the free investigation scheme in the state, a free facility of 207 types of pathological tests is also being provided to the patients. 'On the one hand, our government is modernising the district hospitals and community health centres and equipping them with better facilities. At the same time, consultation facilities are also being provided by specialist doctors in remote villages through Uttarakhand telemedicine services. We are also constantly trying to overcome the shortage of staff in all our government hospitals and medical colleges,' he said. The Chief Minister said that during the COVID pandemic, when the whole world was facing a serious crisis, the doctors were engaged in selfless service. 'In such a difficult time, you people worked day and night to save patients without caring for your own lives. The spirit of service you people displayed by wearing PPE kits, putting yourself at risk of infection and staying away from your loved ones will be written in golden letters in the history of humanity. It is a symbol of your dedication and determination towards human service that you always remain dedicated to serving the patients, regardless of any situation,' he said. (ANI)
