After the win, Flamengo, who brutally trolled Chelsea after they beat them 3-1 earlier in the Club World Cup, put up a message to congratulate their rivals on a well-earned victory.
The Brazilian club's post read: "Congratulations, Chelsea, deserved Champions."
However, Chelsea's social media admin had not forgotten the savage dig the South American side had aimed at them just weeks before.
At the time Flamengo had said: "Easy win against London Blue!"

And after seeing Flamengo call them by their proper name, they could not resist a sarcastic dig back at them.
Chelsea replied: "Chelsea? I thought it was London Blue?"
Trevoh Chalobah was loving the response, and said: "COOKED," with an added crying emoji.

£46m Chelsea flop set for transfer move with club to take huge financial blow
Joao Felix is on the verge of joining Benfica from Chelsea in a deal worth just €25m (£21.7m), according to reports in Portugal. The Blues are set for a significant financial blow over the 25-year-old, given they paid £46m to sign him on a permanent deal less than 12 months ago. Felix, previously dubbed an 'impostor' by football pundit Roy Keane, has struggled since joining Chelsea on a seven-year deal in August 2024. The Portugal international was sent out on loan to AC Milan for the second half of the 2024-25 campaign, where Italian press branded him a 'disaster'. Felix has played 40 games for Chelsea – including his loan spell before they bought him from Atletico Madrid – producing 11 goals and two assists. Wake up to find news on your club in your inbox every morning with Metro's Football Newsletter. Sign up to our newsletter and then select your team in the link we'll send you so we can get football news tailored to you. According to Portuguese outlet Record, Felix is now 'very close' to making a return to Benfica, the club where he started his senior career. The deal is expected to be finalised by tomorrow (Friday, July 25) with the player keen on a second stint with Benfica. It's believed that Felix could potentially play in Benfica's pre-season friendly clash against Fenerbahçe on Saturday. Felix was once viewed as one of the most exciting talents in the world – with Atletico paying an astronomical fee of £113m to sign him in 2019. But the versatile attacker – who can be deployed as a second striker, centre-forward or winger – has very much failed to live up the hype. 'He has still not found his place,' former Chelsea defender Marcel Desailly told Milan Presse earlier this year. 'He's been at Chelsea, Atletico Madrid, now Milan, without making any real impact. 'At this moment of his career, he needs a club with a clear philosophy that can build [a] project around him, put him at ease to express his potential that we still haven't really seen. More Trending 'What Joao Felix lacks is not technique, but character. He is not a leader.' According to Record, Benfica president Rui Costa has already reserved the No.10 shirt for Felix. The No.10 shirt is considered to be special at Benfica, with Costa donning it himself during his time as a player for the club. It was also worn by the late Eusebio, regarded as one of football's greatest ever players. Jose Mourinho brutally dismisses Chelsea's Club World Cup win with pre-season comparison
Chelsea claimed FIFA's Club World Cup in the United States of America but Jose Mourinho has played down their success, likening it to a pre-season tour despite the Blues' excitement Jose Mourinho has claimed the Club World Cup was "only important for Chelsea" and that watching the tournament reminded him of "every time I went to the United States for pre-season". The Blues became the first side to win the newly expanded FIFA tournament, which included a host of the world's top sides. Chelsea produced an upset in the final to see off PSG 3-0 despite the French side being heavy favourites after hammering Real Madrid in the semi-finals. En route to the final, Chelsea beat Benfica, Palmeiras and Fluminense. Enzo Maresca hailed his side's effort and ramped up the importance of the Club World Cup as he said: 'I think it will become as important as the Champions League and we value it as much as winning the Champions League.' That was despite some of the sport's major teams, Barcelona and Liverpool among them, not being given a chance to participate. And Mourinho, now in charge of Fenerbahce, hinted that the tournament was a little more than a glorified pre-season trip. The Special One told Canal 11: "This Club World Cup also highlighted a kid who also had a great season at Chelsea, Cole Palmer. But this run to the semi-finals reminded me every time I went to the United States for pre-season with Real Madrid and Inter, it reminded me a little of those games we played there. "So, I think this Club World Cup title is only important for Chelsea, as they'll sell a lot of jerseys with the logo on there. So, I think PSG was the big winner this season, not because of what they did domestically, because they always win domestically, but winning the Champions League and the way they did, especially with the idea of losing their best player." The ex-Blues boss made his thoughts clear as he added: "I think this PSG team is the best team of the season." The Parisians claimed the treble under Luis Enrique and secured the biggest winning margin in Champions League final history. The Club World Cup itself divided opinion. Jurgen Klopp was scathing in his assessment whilst plenty of games were not played in front of capacity crowds. It also included teams like Auckland City, who included a number of part-time players. Chelsea star Levi Colwill though echoed the thoughts of his manager as he claimed: "This is the biggest trophy I've ever won. I think the Club World Cup will be bigger than the Champions League and we were the first team to win it." The Blues will return to the Champions League this term having finished fourth.

Jarrod Bowen might be the perfect forward for Dream Team managers in Gameweek 1
WHERE would West Ham be without Jarrod Bowen? There are some in the east end of London who believe the answer to that question is: the Championship. 3 The latest in our SCOUT REPORT series focuses on the Hammers' talisman ahead of the new Dream Team season. While it's true that gaffers need a certain degree of longsightedness when selecting their XI, there's something to be said for targeting the opening weekend of the Premier League. Those keen on a strong start should be particularly interested in Bowen as he's due to face Sunderland in Gameweek 1. This is not to say the Black Cats should be underestimated as they will be cheered on by a partisan home crowd at the Stadium of Light upon their return to the top flight but it's simply a fact that newly-promoted clubs have given up a lot of points in recent years. And so it's only natural that Dream Team bosses managers will look at Leeds, Burnley and Sunderland for promising match-ups - at least initially. 3 Bowen racked up 277 points last season at an impressive average of 7.7 per game. The England international scored 14 goals and provided 11 assists in 2024/25. That boils down further to a goal involvement every 125.9 minutes. He also ranked third for tackles and fourth for bonus points (among forwards). 3 The 28-year-old has been a consistent performer for several years now and his individual output has rarely dipped, regardless of West Ham's form. Despite his excellent returns, engaged gaffers didn't turn to Bowen until the final Gameweeks of the season in 2024/25. Only then did his ownership rise to a figure befitting of a player who finished as the seventh-best performer in his position. His popularity is limited due to the fact West Ham don't have European fixtures to enhance their schedule but that will only be a relevant factor in September. When it comes to domestic games, there are few players who rattle along at Bowen's rate and so he should be considered a strong option for August, especially with Sunderland (a) in Gameweek 1.
