Deacon Blue has shared news ahead of Glasgow Hydro gig
The 64-year-old musician helped form the band in 1985 alongside Ricky Ross, Lorraine McIntosh, Dougie Vipond, Ewen Vernal, and the late Graeme Kelling.

Details about Prime's condition have not been released, but the band confirmed he has given them his blessing to continue with their scheduled tour, which concludes with two nights at Glasgow's OVO Hydro this October.
In a heartfelt statement, the band wrote: "Dear friends,
"We want to share some news with you about our brother Jim.
"Unfortunately, he is seriously ill and undergoing care in hospital. We would like you to join us in wishing him well and to share your love with him.
"We spoke to Jim yesterday about Deacon Blue's plans for the rest of the year, and he encouraged us to continue with love in our hearts and with his full blessing that the shows go ahead even if it means replacing the irreplacable Jame Miller Prime for the time being.
"Together with Jim's family, we want to thank all nurses, doctors and ICU staff for their ongoing care, professionalism and comapssion.
"With love, Ricky, Lorraine, Dougie, Gregor, Lewis and Tom."
Fans flooded the comment section following the sad update sharing their well wishes for Jim.
One fan wrote: "Wishing Jim a speedy recovery and you all safe travels on your musical journeys."
Another commented: "Oh Jim! Guys, I'm praying for him and for you all during this horribly uncertain time. Jim = legend."
A third added: "Sending prayers and healing wishes to you, Jim.
"Stay positive and do as the medical staff tells you! We look forward to seeing you tinkling the ivories when you're ready."
The Glasgow-based band will perform two major shows at the OVO Hydro on Friday and Saturday, October 10 and 11, 2025, as part of their Deacon Blue: The Great Western Road Trip tour.

Last year, the Glasgow Times reported that the band's latest album will pay tribute to the city's iconic Great Western Road.
Founding members Ricky Ross and Lorraine McIntosh discussed the project during an appearance on the Zoe Ball Breakfast Show on BBC Radio 2.
Ricky, 66, said: "We are in the middle of making a record. We will be bringing it out on March 21, 2025 (and it) is called The Great Western Road.
"Great Western Road leads from the city centre through the West End of Glasgow, which is a really cool and trendy part - and I always thought that for a certain time we owned that. It was the place we wanted to be and we seemed part of it for about two months in 1987.
"The band would meet at a bar called Chimmy Chungas, and it was the gang headquarters of Deacon Blue - that's what Great Western Road was for me."
At the time, the duo also shared that Deacon Blue will perform a mix of intimate theatre shows and larger arena dates across the UK.
When Zoe Ball asked about the difference between theatres and big venues, Lorraine joked: 'Yes, they are terrifying.'

It was lovely to see them all collaborating and having fun with their ideas. 'We then used different techniques to engage them, from painting and mark-making to mood boards and looking at shapes, but all driven by their interests and imaginations, whether it's space, palm trees, racing cars or lions! "For those who couldn't attend in person, we got them involved through worksheets to enjoy at home. It was amazing to see their imaginations come to life. In the process, we've transformed a patch of the Hilltown for the wider community to enjoy.' Wrestling and axe-throwing at Holywell's Party in the Park
Party in the Park took place yesterday (Saturday, July 26) between 11am and 4pm at both Fron Park and the adjacent Holywell Leisure Centre. The event drew huge crowds despite the drizzly weather at times, and was once again organised by Holywell Town Council, following the success of its debut event 12 months ago. Among those in attendance were the mayor and mayoress of Holywell, Matt Sprake and Fi Vaughan respectively. Meanwhile, outside, there were three wrestling shows (with meet and greets) from Basix Pro Wrestling for people to enjoy, as well as BMX bike and skateboarding coaching, and archery and axe-throwing sessions. People could also try their hand at a climbing wall and karaoke, while there was also an inflatable assault course and basketball, bushcraft, crown green bowling, community stalls, face painting, and glitter tattoos. Children were entitled to free lunch packs, while there were also ice cream, burger and coffee vans. North Wales Police were in attendance, with youngsters able to try on officers' uniform and sit inside a police car. Stalls were set up by the likes of St John Ambulance, Holywell-based Bethel Baptist Chapel, and Red Dragon Ventures, who gave people the chance to practise cardiopulmonary resuscitation training with a dummy, create nature-based artwork, build teddy dens, and toast marshmallows. The Assassin fans are only just recognising Neighbours legend in pivotal role
The Assassin is the latest thriller which has left viewers on the edge of their seats. The Assassin airs on Prime Video and the exhilarating drama stars Keeley Hawes and Freddie Highmore as estranged mother and son, Julie and Edward. Julie, a retired killer for hire, had been living a life of solitude in the stunning setting of Greece in The Assassin until her son showed up with questions about his upbringing. As Julie's past came back to haunt her, various influential figures from her life were introduced, including Aaron Cross - the billionaire father of Edward's fiancée Kayla (Shalom Brune-Franklin). Viewers are only just realising Aaron Cross is played by Alan Dale, a 78-year-old New Zealand actor known for playing Jim Robinson in Neighbours. The soap legend's role of Jim was one of Neighbours' twelve original characters, who made his debut in the first-ever episode in 1985. He was the patriarch of the Robinson family and his role was described as an anchor, similar to Leslie Grantham's role of Den Watts in EastEnders. The actor stayed for eight years before Jim was killed off, following a dispute with the show's producers over pay. 'I made some sort of crack about the fact that when we started doing Neighbours [in 1985], we got paid the same money as when I was doing The Young Doctors [which he starred in from 1979-1983],' he told TV Week. In an interview with The Sunday Telegraph, the star said he struggled to find work in Australia after Neighbours because he was typecast as Jim. He did reprise his role in 2018, during the Christmas Day episode, appearing as part of a ghostly sequence. Dale went on to star in The O.C, NCIS, Ugly Betty and Dominion. One of his latest roles was as Owen Deveraux in season two of Wreck. As a child, he was a keen rugby player and after retiring from the sport, he decided to become a professional actor at 27 years old. Dale then moved to Australia, where one of his first roles was as Dr John Forrest in The Young Doctors from 1979 to 1982. He and his family live in Manhattan Beach, California, and he owns property in Australia. The father-of-four married Tracey Pearson, the 1986 Miss Australia, in 1990.
