Ohio State Predicted to Lose Nation's No. 6 Recruit to SEC Powerhouse originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
Throughout the offseason, the Ohio State Buckeyes and head coach Ryan Day have built on their national championship win, which is evident from their impressive 2026 recruiting class.

They've already received a total of 19 commits for a group that ranks No. 5 in the nation. On Monday, it was revealed that they, along with Texas, Michigan and Florida, were the four finalists for offensive tackle Felix Ojo.
Ohio State has shown interest through the recruiting process, bringing him in for a total of three visits, including an official visit on May 30.
However, on Wednesday, On3's Sam Spiegelman predicted Ojo will pass on the Buckeyes and instead commit to the Longhorns.
Texas Longhorns head coach Steve Sarkisian is predicted to land offensive tackle Felix Ojo.This would be an exciting addition for the SEC squad, as On3 Industry Rankings place Ojo as a five-star recruit, the No. 3 offensive tackle, the No. 1 player in Texas and the No. 6 player in the nation.

Considering where he sits as a prospect and the fact that he stands at 6-foot-6.5 and weighs 275 pounds, with one more year of high school left, he is the kind of player who could come in as a true freshman and compete for playing time.
If the prediction does become a reality, Ojo would be Texas' third five-star recruit and fill in nicely to a class that already has 15 commitments, ranking No. 7 in the SEC and No. 16 in the nation.
This outcome would sting for Ohio State and Day, but it wouldn't sting them much as they have already landed several offensive tackle recruits, including four-star Sam Greer and three-star Aaron Thomas.

All-Star Tatis leads the Padres to a 4-1 win against the Rangers

SAN DIEGO (AP) — All-Star Fernando Tatis Jr. scored the tying run in the third inning and doubled in the go-ahead run in the fourth for the San Diego Padres, who beat the Texas Rangers 4-1 on Sunday night to take two of three. Tatis, named to the National League All-Star team for the third time, reached base four times. Advertisement With runners on first and second and two outs in the fourth, Tatis doubled into the left field corner to bring in Trenton Brooks for a 2-1 lead. Martín Maldonado came around from first, slid headfirst and originally was called safe on Marcus Semien's relay throw to catcher Jonah Heim, but the Rangers challenged and the call was overturned. The Padres failed to capitalize on a bases-loaded situation with two outs in the bottom of the first against Jack Leiter (4-6). But they tied it two innings later when Tatis reached on a leadoff walk, stole second and scored on Luis Arraez's two-out single to center. Maldonado and Jake Cronenworth singled in runs in the sixth and seventh, respectively. Padres rookie opener David Morgan had a rough first inning but allowed the only run thanks to a play at the plate and a great diving catch by Cronenworth with the bases loaded. Advertisement Leiter allowed two runs and five hits in 3 2/3 innings, with five strikeouts and two walks. Kyle Hart (3-2) got the win and Robert Suarez pitched a perfect ninth for his 25th save to tie for the big league lead. Key moment Tatis' RBI double came one pitch after he was brushed back and lost hold of his bat. Key stat Manny Machado, who needs two hits to reach 2,000 for his career, went 0 for 4 with two strikeouts. Up next Rangers RHP Jacob deGrom (9-2, 2.13 ERA), who was named to the American League All-Star team, is scheduled to start Monday night in the opener of a four-game series at the Los Angeles Angels. Padres RHP Yu Darvish, out with elbow inflammation since spring training, makes his season debut. ___ AP MLB: Bernie Wilson, The Associated Press

Denis Bouanga scores, LAFC ties season-high with 22 shots in 3-0 win over Rapids

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Denis Bouanga converted from the penalty spot in the 42nd minute, Hugo Lloris had two saves and Los Angeles FC beat Colorado 3-0 on Wednesday night as the Rapids played all but the first few minutes a man down. LAFC, which had 70% possession and tied their season high with 22 shots, is 7-0-0 at home against the Rapids all time in the MLS regular season with a 20-2 goal differential. Bounga's PK gave LAFC a 1-0 lead. The 30-year-old forward joined Carlos Vela (78) as the only players in club history to reach at least 50 career regular season goals. LAFC (8-5-5) had a nine-game unbeaten streak snapped last time out with a 1-0 loss to Vancouver. Javairô Dilrosun's first-touch shot, off a feed from Ryan Hollingshead, was parried by goalkeeper Nico Hansen but Nate Ordaz was there to tap in the rebound from point-blank range and make it 2-0 in the 48th minute. Dilrosun, who was acquired June 11 on loan from LIGA MX powerhouse Club América through July 24 with a purchase option scored his first career goal in MLS to give LAFC a 3-0 lead in the 59th. Jackson Travis was shown a straight red card in the sixth minute after he extended his elbow into the face of LAFC fullback Sergi Palencia and the Rapids played a man down the rest of the way. The last time the clubs met, Palencia was accused , and cleared, of discriminatory action toward Rapids defender Chidozie Awaziem. Colorado (7-10-5) has one win in its last seven games. ___ AP soccer:
