Winona Ryder, 53, was rejected by Al Pacino, 85, after falling ‘actively in love
The Stranger Things star, 53, is all loved up with her partner Scott Mackinlay Hahn these days, but as a 22-year-old actress she had a big old soft spot for The Godfather star Al Pacino, who is 32 years her senior.
In the late 90s, the Girl, Interrupted star was working on Al Pacino's directorial debut Looking for Richard when the pair struck up a friendship of sorts.
While Al Pacino would take Winona around New York to the best coffee spots, she was 'actively in love with him' – but the film veteran rejected her advances. Ouch.
'I was absolutely in love with Al Pacino when I was working with him,' Winona revealed in a recent interview with Elle Magazine.
'We were doing that workshop for Richard III, which I didn't know was gonna be a movie. I was actively in love with him.
'He was obsessed with coffee, and he would take me all over New York – like, to the weirdest places – to try different coffees. I'm 22, or whatever.
'Finally, he's dropping me off wherever I'm staying, and I'm like, 'I love you, you know. I really am completely in love with you.'''
However, rather than accept her advances, Al touched her hand with pity and said: 'Aw, honey, noooo.'
While the three-decade age difference might have put Al off in the 90s, Winona noted that he seems to have changed his tune…
'10 years later, I meet his girlfriend, who's younger than me.' She laughs. 'Dude, I'm f*cking throwing myself at you,' she joked, adding: 'I still play poker with him sometimes. It's the best.'
It seems over the years Al has got more and more liberal about gaping age-gaps, as his most recent ex-girlfriend Noor Alfallah is 54 years younger than him.
Aged 31, Noor and Al welcomed his fourth child, a son named Roman, in 2023.
He also has three other children: 34-year-old daughter Julie who he welcomed with acting coach Jan Tarrant, and 23-year-old twins Anton and Olivia, who he shares with actress Beverly D'Angelo.
Meanwhile, Winona is smitten in her 14-year relationship with eco fashion designer Scott, who she met at the 2010 premiere of her film Black Swan.
Speaking to Harper's Bazaar last year, Winona said: 'He's so great. He really is. I'm really lucky.' More Trending
She also revealed that Scott knows so little about the entertainment industry that he didn't recognise her when they first met.
'He thought I was Milla Jovovich,' she said. 'He told me I was great in The Fifth Element.'
Winona was previously engaged to Johnny Depp who she was with for four years in the early 1990s.
She also previously dated Matt Damon, Rilo Kiley guitarist Blake Sennett, and Helmet singer Page Hamilton.

‘Amazing' Netflix drama called 'best murder mystery in years' confirmed for second season
A new Netflix drama that rocketed up the charts has been given an exciting update after leaving fans hooked Netflix's new murder mystery called one of the streamer's best shows of 2025 has been renewed for a second season. Drawing comparisons to HBO's hit drama True Detective, this six-part detective show scored rave reviews from fans and dominated the streamer's TV chart in July. Starring Eric Bana as Kyle Turner, a National Parks Service special agent, Untamed follows the grizzled investigator solving a young woman's mysterious death whilst struggling to come to terms with a family tragedy. Sam Neill and Rosemarie DeWitt also starred in the first season. Details about season two are sparse, but Deadline confirms Bana will return as Turner to solve another mystery. In a statement, the actor said: 'I am absolutely thrilled that we get the chance to bring another season of Untamed to life. 'The response to Season 1 has been a testament to the incredible effort by our crew to deliver something truly unique. I can't wait to take Kyle on his next journey.' Mark L Smith, who created the series with his daughter Elle Smith, told Tudum: 'Elle and I envisioned it as a stand-alone, six episodes. 'But then the more that we got into it, it was just such a great cast … it was just like, 'Oh yeah, how do we keep this going?'' Countless fans will be thrilled to see the series return after Untamed received an impressive 50 million views in its first two weeks of release. One viewer shared their thoughts on IMDb: 'The best detective series since the first True Detective. 'Could not stop watching from the first minute of the series. This is [an] excellent show with great setting and actors and plot.' Another said: 'Phenomenal work and gorgeously shot. Selfishly I hope Kyle's journey continues in another series. He's like a broken Atticus Finch of a hero.' Watch Stranger Things on Netflix for free with Sky This article contains affiliate links, we will receive a commission on any sales we generate from it. Eric Bana is incredible—quiet, intense, and completely believable as a man dealing with insurmountable grief while trying to solve a mystery in Yosemite. 'The show looks stunning; the park feels like its own character with breathtaking shots of cliffs, forests, and rivers. 'If you like mystery shows that have heart, amazing acting, and absolutely gorgeous scenery, Untamed is a must-watch.' Another added: 'Loved this show, it's a real tear jerker but also kept me on the edge of my seat. This is one of the very best shows Netflix has put out. Great story telling, great actors and beautiful scenery.' And a final fan declared: 'The best series that I have watched in a long time. 'Honestly, I could watch this series over and over. I really hope that Netflix makes a part two.' Fans's prayers have been answered as Bana will return as Turner after leaving Yosemite to let go of his past - but there'll undoubtedly be more sinister conspiracies lurking just around the corner. Untamed is available to stream on Netflix.

Lily Allen wears diamond band on her ring finger after emotional admission about ex
Lily Allen was spotted sporting a diamond ring over the weekend whilst out in London following her apparent split from Stranger Things cast member David Harbour last year Lily Allen, 40, has been spotted wearing a diamond ring months after splitting from her estranged husband David Harbour. She sported the jewellery whilst out in London just a few days ago after fulfilling a childhood dream. Lily, who recently hit out at a 'horrible' ex who questioned her hygiene habits, was seen out in the capital city over the weekend. The podcast host rode a bike through Notting Hill, where she grew up, on Sunday, whilst seemingly out on her own in the community, where she's said to have bought a flat. The singer-songwriter opted to wear a striped shirt underneath a brown cardigan and a pair of jeans. Her outfit, which included dark footwear, was accompanied by a brown bag. Lily was also spotted sporting a band on her ring finger. It appears to be different from the silver band and engagement ring that she wore during her marriage to David, 50. The new jewellery, which isn't believed to be an engagement ring, features a pear-shaped stone on gold bands instead. Lily being spotted out in Notting Hill comes following reports last year that she had bought a property there. Earlier this year, she confirmed on her podcast Miss Me? that she had bought a flat in the area of London where she grew up. On an episode released in March, Lily spoke to her pal Miquita Oliver that the flat is in a social housing building, though assured that it had already been privately owned prior to her buying it. She said: "I have wanted to live in this building since I was a baby. It has been a dream of mine forever and finally a flat in here became available and I was in a position to buy it." Lily, who is understood to have been recording the podcast from the flat, added that she had planned to attend community activities in the area with her two daughters. She didn't mention whether her husband David, whom she married in 2020, was living with them at the property though. The Brit Award winner and her children had lived with actor David, who is best known for his role on Stranger Things, in a townhouse in New York at one point. It was however reported last year that Lily had split from her husband. She's since said to have joined exclusive dating app Raya in an effort to move on from their marriage and has already been romantically linked to another celebrity. Lily was seen out with actor James Norton, 40, last month. Lily and James were spotted enjoying Charli XCX 's performance at Lido Festival in London in June, with it speculated that they were on a date. More recently, it was reported that James had been getting cosy with someone else. Speaking to the Mirror, a source said: "James and his female pal certainly didn't care who was looking. They were happy sitting outside the bar getting very cosy with one another despite the scorching temperatures across London." They added: "At one point, the woman was seen resting her hand on James' bare knees as they engaged in a deep conversation. It's a stark contrast from his recent date with Lily Allen, but it's clear that he's not short of female attention." In a recent episode of her podcast, Lily said that she was accused of having poor hygiene by one of her exes. She has suggested that it was "a form of bullying and abuse," and questioned the "gall" of the ex, whose identity she did not disclose. She told her co-host that one of her exes had accused her of smelling bad during the relationship. She however recalled asking other people in her life if they felt the same way. "I think that it was like a form of bullying and abuse." Her long-time pal reacted: "It's a horrible one." Miquita added in the episode: "As bullying forms of abuse go, it's a really horrible one."
