3 Texas A&M matchups included in The Athletic's Top 100 college football rivalry rankings
While the return of Texas A&M vs. Texas made headlines last season after the decade-plus drought during the Longhorns' first season in the SEC, the Aggies have become bitter rivals with the LSU Tigers, which includes the historic 7-OT game during the 2018 season, which served as the 57th meeting between both programs, and only heightened the hatred between the fanbases.
Both rivalries will continue on the gridiron as long as all three teams stay in the SEC, and are still considered two of the greatest rivalries in college football history. On Monday, The Athletic released its top 100 college football rivalry rankings, which included three Texas A&M rivalry matchups, including the Aggies' longtime yearly matchup with the Baylor Bears.
No. 74: Texas A&M vs. Baylor
Known as the "Battle of the Brazos," Texas A&M currently leads the series 68–31–9, and while both programs have not played since the 2011 season, the Aggies dominated the Bears 55-28 behind a dominant performance from wide receiver Ryan Swope.
No. 71: Texas A&M vs. LSU
The first meeting between Texas A&M and LSU took place in 1899, resulting in a 52-0 victory for the Aggies. However, LSU has since won four National Championships, and currently leads the series 32–24–3. While Texas A&M defeated the Tigers 34-23 in one of the best comeback wins of the year, the Aggies have not defeated LSU in Death Valley since the 1994 season.
No. 15: Texas A&M vs. Texas
The Texas Longhorns have dominated the Lone Star Showdown since the early 2000s, while the Aggies won ten out of eleven games from 1984 to 1994. During the first matchup since the 2011 season, Texas was the better team on paper, and while the Aggies had their chances, the Longhorns didn't allow an offensive touchdown, leaving a sold-out Kyle Field with a decisive 17-7 victory.
In 119 meetings, Texas leads the series 77–37–5. Texas A&M will travel to Austin for its regular-season finale in 2025.

Notre Dame transfer Rocco Spindler makes PFF College First Team Preseason All-Big Ten
Pro Football Focus College released its preseason First Team All-Big Ten Offense on Monday afternoon, one month before Nebraska begins the 2025 season. Right guard Rocco Spindler represents the Huskers on the list. The Notre Dame transfer joins Nebraska after spending four seasons with the Fighting Irish. He played in 40 games for Notre Dame at right guard, starting in 23 of them. Spindler got his first chance of action during his freshman season in 2021, playing in two games before redshirting. He then played in 12 games as a sophomore in 2022, before earning the starting role in 2023. The 6-foot-5, 320-pound lineman got 10 starts in 2023, helping the Fighting Irish rank second in school history in scoring and yards per play. His performance on the Notre Dame helped him become a 2023 Joe Moore Award Semifinalist. Spindler then started the final 13 games of the 2024 season, guiding Notre Dame to the College Football Playoff championship game. Before joining the Fighting Irish, Spindler emerged from Clarkson High School in Michigan with a four-star rating and ESPN tabbing him as the nation's No. 1 offensive guard. National college football writer calls Big Ten playoff plan 'absurd'
Blake Toppmeyer at USA TODAY Sports isn't buying what the Big Ten is selling. He isn't alone. SEC commissioner Greg Sankey didn't seem to be interested in expanding the playoff on the Big Ten's terms. Tony Petitti, the commissioner of the Big Ten, has proposed an alteration to the College Football Playoff. Under his plan, the playoff would expand to 16 teams with four guaranteed bids for the Big Ten, four for the Southeastern Conference, two each for the Big 12 and the Atlantic Coast Conference, and a final spot reserved for the highest-ranked non-power conference champion. The three remaining bids would be at-large. "I think everybody outside of Big Ten land has realized that this Tony Petitti plan is patently absurd," Toppmeyer said on The Paul Finebaum Show. Big Ten coaches are behind the plan because they helped Petitti formulate it. And because it helps their conference, in turn, it helps their team. The Big Ten would have held 54 spots in the College Football Playoff over the last 11 years, the history of the playoff, if Petitti's plan were in place. "It would make the regular season worse when you consider 13 of the 16 bids would be rewarded purely off of conference standings and play-in games," Toppmeyer said. "Games like Texas-Ohio State, LSU-Clemson, Michigan-Oklahoma, that we're looking forward to this season, if we were in a world of Petitti playoff plan, those nonconference games would become glorified exhibitions. That's not how you make the season better." As much as the plan has support in the Big Ten, most of the rest of the college football world agrees with Toppmeyer. ACC and Big 12 commissioners have recommended the 5 + 11 plan, for example. But whatever changes come to the playoff will ultimately be decided by the Big Ten and SEC. SEC commissioner Greg Sankey has largely hemmed and hawed on Petitti's plan so far. Any changes to the playoff format would have to be agreed on by December 1 to take effect for the 2026 season, and it's looking more like the playoff may not expand at all. Broncos training camp Day 4: Schedule, tickets, parking
The work continues. The Denver Broncos continue their 2025 training camp schedule today with Day 4 of practice scheduled for 10:00 a.m. MT at Broncos Park Powered by CommonSpirit. Gates to the facility will open at 8 a.m. MT. Due to ongoing construction at the team's facility, capacity is limited to about 800 fans at each practice. To attend, fans are required to download free tickets on a first-come, first-served basis on Ticketmaster. The tickets for each practice were quickly claimed when they first became available, but it's worth monitoring Ticketmaster to check if tickets are returned ahead of practices. Broncos 2025 Training Camp Schedule Parking will be available at Dove Valley Regional Park (7900 S Potomac St Rd, Centennial, CO 80112) on a first-come, first-served basis beginning at 8 a.m. on the morning of practice. There are fewer than 300 parking spots available, so fans are encouraged to use ride-sharing options to arrive at practice. Fans with tickets will sit at the south end of the practice fields on temporary bleachers. Fans who attend practice are encouraged to wear sunscreen and stay hydrated. Lawn chairs and umbrellas are not allowed at practice. Select players are expected to be available to sign autographs for kids aged 5-15 in a kids' zone after each practice session. Fans should note that Denver's practice schedule is subject to change due to weather. Be sure to check the team's X page for the latest updates on the practice schedule.
