Dubai: RTA to auction 350 exclusive 2, 3, 4, and 5-digit number plates
The auction will feature plates from the following codes: H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O, P, Q, R, S, T, U, V, W, X, Y, Z — including Classic. Registration opens on Monday, August 4, while the auction will go live on August 11, and will run for five days. All sales are subject to a 5% Value Added Tax (VAT), and participants must hold a valid traffic file in the Emirate of Dubai.
To participate, bidders are required to submit a security cheque payable to RTA in the amount of Dh5,000, along with a non-refundable participation fee of Dh120. Payments can be made at Customer Happiness Centres in Umm Ramool, Al Barsha, and Deira, or via credit card through the RTA website: www.rta.ae.
Successful bidders must complete payment within 10 working days from the closing date of the auction. Payments may be made at authorised service provider centres — by cash for amounts up to Dh50,000, and by certified cheque or credit card for amounts exceeding Dh50,000. Transactions can also be completed at Customer Happiness Centres or via the RTA website.

Abu Dhabi's hotel sector hits Dh682 million in revenues during May
31 July 2025 18:20 ABU DHABI (WAM) Hotel establishments in Abu Dhabi continued their positive performance in May 2025, driven by higher occupancy rates and an increasing number of international sector recorded total revenues of Dh682 million, reflecting the sustained growth of the emirate's tourism and hospitality to preliminary data from the Department of Culture and Tourism-Abu Dhabi, released by the Statistics Centre – Abu Dhabi, the breakdown of hotel revenues for the month includes Dh408 million from room revenues, Dh224 million from food and beverage services, and Dh50 million from other Dhabi's hotels welcomed approximately 481,000 guests in May 2025, highlighting the emirate's growing appeal as a world-class tourism destination. This growth is supported by the diversity of accommodation options and the high standards of hospitality services.A total of 172 hotel establishments were in operation in Abu Dhabi during the month, offering 34,383 rooms. The total number of guest nights exceeded 1.345 million, with an occupancy rate of 80%. The average revenue per available room reached from non-Arab Asian countries topped the list with 155,000 visitors, followed by Europeans with 112,000, and UAE nationals with 88,000, indicating the sector's continued momentum and the emirate's position as a preferred destination for global also hosted 31,000 guests from GCC countries, 52,000 from other Arab nations, 25,000 from North and South America, and 8,000 from non-Arab African countries, along with visitors from various other global category, five-star hotels received the largest number of guests, with 236,000 visitors, led by 72,000 European guests. Meanwhile, four-star hotels accommodated 126,000 guests, while hotels rated three stars or below welcomed 70,000, and hotel apartments hosted 50,000 guests.
