Coach Carl urges Crusaders' fans to turn out in force
If everything goes their way, it will certainly be a day to remember for the Crusaders.
Should Workington Town lose out at home to Keighley Cougars, a triumph for North Wales would see them crowned as League One champions for the season.
Head coach Forster told CruCast: 'We're trying, we really are and we just want the fans' support.
'I think... the next two Sundays are potentially two cup finals. It can actually be won on Sunday if we do what we need to do and Keighley beat Workington.
'So, you know, we could be in a party atmosphere come Sunday, or it's next week at Rochdale.
'But, I think if you look back at when we went to Doncaster in that cup final, it felt like a home game.
'So, I just urge everyone to come out, support the boys, you know. Sunday, we could achieve what we've wanted to achieve for the last three years, which would be massive for the club and I think we should all be there to enjoy it together and, if it's not this week, I think we've just got to build some momentum and, you know, get as much support as we can and hopefully bring that trophy home.'
It's been some campaign already for the Crusaders, with 12 wins from their 13 matches.
However, their solitary loss did come away against Sunday's visitors Swinton back in early June.
The Lions came roaring back from a 16-6 interval deficit to record a terrific 26-20 triumph. Sam Wilde, Pat Ah Van and Ollie Brookes scored North Wales' tries on the day, with Jamie Dallimore kicking the remainder of the points.
Reflecting on that match, Forster admitted: 'I felt when we played them at their place we let emotions take over, a few ex-Swinton lads in our side probably over-played and as a team we just went away from what we do well.
'Swinton have also added some more quality since then, so we'll be looking at their last few games and we're ready for a very physical game.'
With Jake Spedding and Jordan Case both returning from injury last weekend, coupled with the first appearance of the season for Jamie Jenkins and reserve player Kian Fishwick being brought into the fold, Forster admitted he's got a selection headache this week.
'The lads who came in last week did really well, we knew that during the run-in we'd need every member of the squad so last week gave me an opportunity to test a few different combinations and also get game time into lads who we'll need over the next six to seven weeks,' he said.
'They did really well, and they've certainly given me a headache when it comes to choosing the squad on Friday.'
Elsewhere on Sunday, Dewsbury Rams travel to Newcastle Thunder and Rochdale Hornets welcome Whitehaven.

Man Utd respond to offer to sign £66m former Arsenal and Chelsea target
Manchester United have been offered former Arsenal and Chelsea transfer target Dusan Vlahovic as Ruben Amorim searches for a new striker. Amorim is determined to welcome a new goalscorer to Old Trafford this summer after current first-choice striker Rasmus Hojlund endured a dismal 2024-25 campaign. Hojlund, who completed a £72m move from Atalanta in 2023, scored just four goals in the Premier League as United slumped to a 15th-place finish. Amorim was hoping to reunite with his former Sporting star Viktor Gyokeres but the Sweden international rejected the Red Devils in favour of a move to Arsenal. Manchester United have since been heavily linked with a move for Benjamin Sesko but face serious competition from Newcastle United in the race to sign the RB Leipzig forward. In The Mixer: Exclusive analysis, FPL tips and transfer talk sent straight to your inbox every week – click here and sign up before Friday to make sure you don't miss the first edition. Sesko does not boast the goalscoring record of Gyokeres but has contributed 39 goals over the past two seasons and, at 22, has time on his side to improve. United have identified Sesko as their priority target for the striker position after going cold on Aston Villa's Ollie Watkins and Chelsea's Nicolas Jackson. But Newcastle appear to be leading the battle to sign Sesko, having made a second offer for the Slovenia international on Monday after their opening £70m bid was knocked back. Clubs around Europe are fully aware of United's pursuit of a striker and as a result some have offered unwanted players to Sir Jim Ratcliffe. One such example is Juventus, who have contacted Manchester United in recent days to offer them the chance to sign Serbia star Vlahovic. The 25-year-old has scored 58 goals in 145 appearances for Juve since completing a £66m move from Fiorentina in 2022. Speaking last week, Juventus chief Damien Comolli confirmed the club would sell Vlahovic this summer if they received a 'good proposal'. 'We have agreed with Dusan on his exit this summer if we get a good proposal,' he said. 'But he can only leave with a good bid and we've not received it so far.' More Trending According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United rejected the chance to sign Vlahovic, telling Juventus their sole focus is currently on Sesko. The Series A giants were informed United were still hopeful of securing a deal for Sesko but could reconsider their interest in Vlahovic should Newcastle beat them to their No. 1 target. Vlahovic was heavily linked with Arsenal before and after his 2022 move to Arsenal, while Chelsea were said to be considering a move before they signed Joao Pedro and Liam Delap. Ex-Manchester United striker Louis Saha recently urged his former club to target Vlahovic, saying: 'His numbers are good, his profile is good and he has experience. It would be a good signing in my eyes.' For more stories like this, check our sport page. Follow Metro Sport for the latest news on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Inside Ange Postecoglou's Tottenham sacking as Daniel Levy reveals awkward chat after Europa League heroics
The ex-Celtic favourite was brutally binned by Spurs just weeks after ending the club's 17-year trophy drought Daniel Levy had doubled down on Tottenham 's decision to sack Europa League-winning boss Ange Postecoglou. The Spurs supremo decided to pull the trigger just weeks after Postecoglou led the North London club to European glory. Ex- Celtic favourite Postecoglou boldly vowed to end Tottenham's 17-year wait for a trophy and was true to his word after beating Manchester United in May's final. But a catastrophic Premier League campaign ended with the Lilywhites finishing fourth bottom on just 38 points - and the Aussie paid the price with his job after two rollercoaster seasons at the helm. Levy took some heat from supporters and pundits for wielding the axe and the chairman had to justify his decision in an awkward conversation with Postecoglou. He told the Overlap with SkyBet: "Ultimately, the decision sits with me, but it's always a collective decision. "We have a board of directors, but under the board, we have a group of technical staff, and they advise. "We had to explain the decision to part ways with Ange. Ange just won us a trophy – a European trophy – highly significant and he's always going to be in our history. 'However, we couldn't lose sight of the fact that we finished 17th in the league, we lost 22 Premier League games, and it's impossible for Tottenham to be in that position, and so we had to take the emotion out of it and we had to give some data points as to why we decided to do what we did. "Whichever level you do it, no one likes telling somebody, 'You're losing your job', but it is the nature of football. "We're there to win and yes, we won a European trophy – and it was fantastic – but we also need to win on all fronts – and the Premier League says it all." Tottenham moved on quickly from Postecoglou by luring Thomas Frank from Brentford as their new head coach. Levy added: "Whenever you appoint a coach, you always believe it's right and you need a lot of ingredients for it to be right. Thomas Frank is a highly intelligent individual; he's got a fantastic way about him in terms of communication. "He will be great at developing both young players and older players – and making them better. "He gets the style of football we want to play; he understands that Rome wasn't built in a day – we haven't set him: 'You've got to win the league this year'. We just want to compete at the highest level." SPFL club chairman launches shock blast at OWN fans as he brands scenes at weekend ‘nothing short of a disgrace'
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) HAMILTON ACADEMICAL chairman Jock Brown has launched a furious statement against 'people who have the audacity to call themselves Accies supporters.' The club chief has branded scenes surrounding a fans' protest on Saturday as 'nothing short of disgraceful.' Accies were slapped with a 15-point deduction in April in relation to multiple SPFL rule breaches. That deduction effectively relegated the club, who finished bottom of the Championship and were consigned to League One football for this season. And less than two weeks ago, the club was hit with a transfer embargo that is due to last until the end of the season. Nonetheless, manager John Rankin was able to add three new players to the squad on the eve of the league kick-off at the weekend there. A cash row between the club's current hierarchy and the owners of New Douglas Park saw Hamilton dramatically LEAVE their home stadium. Upon announcing that shock move in early May, the club revealed they were planning on building a new stadium in the area. They also agreed a deal to play their home matches at Broadwood Stadium in Cumbernauld. It's been a tricky time for Accies fans and a group of them decided to make their feelings known ahead of their opening League One fixture at the weekend. Around a 100 fans, including the Accies Supporters Association chief, protested before the match against Montrose. Players are running the Rangers dressing room - Martin knows EXACTLY what he's doing The stadium move was at the forefront of the fans' anger, with a banner placed outside the ground and T-shirts being worn reading "Hamilton for Accies." The group of fans also chanted for the exits of Hamilton owner Seref Zengin and director of football Gerry Strain. Red smoke bombs were also set off outside Broadwood. Two days on, Hamilton chief Jock Brown has released a furious statement in relation to the protests. He alleges that members of the group 'verbally abused decent supporters' and that police intervention ended up being required. Brown labelled the scenes on Saturday 'nothing short of a disgrace.' The chief also revealed the club are now taking steps to "ban the ringleaders of that shocking behaviour from all our matches." In a statement released to the club website, Brown said: "Our opening league match of the season on Saturday was blighted seriously by people who have the audacity to call themselves Accies supporters. "A 'protest' took place at Broadwood which necessitated police intervention and heaped shame on the perpetrators who verbally abused decent supporters collecting their tickets – including our oldest season ticket holder and a teenage boy, a minor, who were subjected to disgusting foul and abusive language. "I have always supported peaceful protest, so long as it shows complete respect to innocent members of the public. "What happened on Saturday was nothing short of a disgrace. "Not only were our decent supporters abused, but members of North Lanarkshire Council and club staff carrying out their match day duties. "That is all completely unacceptable and will not be tolerated. "We are taking steps now to ban the ringleaders of that shocking behaviour from all our matches indefinitely. "We are well aware that Accies fans did not want to move away from Hamilton. "Neither did any member of the board. But we have already explained why staying at New Douglas Park was impossible. "No other location in Hamilton was suitable so the temporary move to Broadwood was necessary. "We have a two-year lease with an option for a further year. During that time we shall do everything possible to identify and develop a new site in Hamilton. "Meanwhile, we trust that all good Accies supporters will share the board's dismay and anger at the appalling behaviour on Saturday." SunSport has contacted Police Scotland for comment. On the pitch, Hamilton won the match 2-0 thanks to goals from Oli Shaw and Charlie Telfer, the latter of whom was playing as a trialist. Hamilton travel to take on Queen of the South in their next match on Saturday afternoon. Keep up to date with ALL the latest news and transfers at the Scottish Sun football page
