Zoomlion's flagship crawler crane, the ZCC9800W, is currently being used for critical hoisting operations at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, which is under construction.
Designed for large-scale infrastructure and energy projects, the crane is «delivering high-precision lifts of steel components weighing hundreds of tons, operating with efficiency and stability on site», Zoomlion said in a press release on Wednesday.
Following the completion of work in Rabat, the ZCC9800W will be transferred to the construction site of the Grand Stade Hassan II in Benslimane, Morocco, which is set to become the largest football stadium in the world and host the upcoming 2030 World Cup.
Zoomlion also highlighted the crane's proven performance in demanding environments, including «wind turbine installations in Inner Mongolia under –40°C conditions and petrochemical projects in Vietnam facing wind speeds over 8 m/s».
«The crane's performance in Morocco marks a key milestone in Zoomlion's continued advancement in the high-tonnage crane segment», the press release added.
For the record, the ZCC9800W is one of several heavy-duty cranes ordered by Eurogrues Maroc, a leading Moroccan industrial lifting company, from Zoomlion this year. The fleet also includes the Zoomlion ZCC17000—Africa's first 1,250-ton crawler crane—along with the ZAT9000V (900 t) mobile crane, ZAT5000V (500 t) mobile crane, ZAT1600V (160 t) mobile crane, and ZRT900V (90 t) all-terrain crane.
The acquisition comes as Morocco accelerates preparations for the 2030 World Cup, with the new equipment set to support major infrastructure projects across the energy, transport, and sports sectors.

Morocco and Zambia 2-2 Draw in WAFCON 2025 Opening Match

Rabat – The 2025 CAF Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) kicked off tonight at the Rabat Olympic Stadium with a match between Morocco and Zambia that ended in a 2-2 draw. Zambia's Barbara Banda scored the first goal for her team in the first minute. Morocco soon responded in the 12th minute through a penalty, but Kundananji scored a second goal for Zambia in the 27th minute. Both sides celebrate flashes of strength and discipline. However, many criticized the slow defense of the Moroccan women's team, noting that the worst scenario a coach can face is conceding a goal in the opening seconds of the game. Ghizlan Chebbak created balance in the game after her stunning performance and equalizer in the last minutes before the end of the match. Morocco, the host country, is entering the tournament with ambitions after finishing as runners-up in the 2022 tournament. In that final, they lost narrowly to South Africa 2-1, but their impressive performance secured them a spot in the 2023 Women's World Cup. It also earned them respect on the continent and nationally. Zambia is committed to do its best throughout the competition, having finished third in 2022 after a hard-fought win over Nigeria in the bronze medal match. This year marks their fourth appearance in WAFCON. Tags: WAFCONWAFCON futsal

FIFA hails Yassine Bounou as one of the greatest modern goalkeepers

After making waves against Real Madrid and Manchester City at the 2025 Club World Cup, Yassine Bounou has further cemented his status as «one of the greatest goalkeepers of the modern era», the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) proudly declared. In an article dedicated to the Moroccan international, FIFA highlighted that the Al Hilal shot-stopper has «proven himself time and again». Bounou has «left his mark on unforgettable matches», delivering heroic performances in FIFA competitions and once again rising to the occasion on the global stage. Nicknamed «the Spider», he led his Saudi club to the quarter-finals with a dramatic 4–3 victory over Manchester City, an achievement FIFA notes in its reflection that «a good goalkeeper is often half the team». «With his exploits in decisive matches, Bounou has transcended the traditional role of a goalkeeper to become the architect of historic moments etched in football history», the article continues, referencing Morocco's historic win over Spain in the 2022 World Cup (0–0, 3–0 on penalties). In that match, Bounou saved penalties from Carlos Soler and Sergio Busquets and made two crucial saves in regular and extra time, helping Morocco reach the quarter-finals for the first time ever. In the quarter-final against Portugal, which Morocco won 1–0, Bounou delivered another stellar performance, denying three dangerous shots, including a powerful strike from João Félix, to keep a clean sheet for the second consecutive game. The victory made Morocco the first Arab and African nation to reach a World Cup semi-final. At the 2025 Club World Cup, Bounou again made headlines, saving a late penalty against Real Madrid to help Al Hilal earn a crucial point. He registered five saves in that match, four from inside the box, against top talents like Vinícius Jr. and Gonzalo García. Just days later, Bounou donned his «superhero cape» once again, making 11 saves, eight of them from inside the box, against Manchester City in a stunning 4–3 extra-time win that propelled Al Hilal into the next round. FIFA also recalled his heroics in the 2023 UEFA Europa League final with Sevilla FC against AS Roma. With the match tied 1–1 after extra time, Bounou emerged as the hero in the penalty shootout, saving attempts from Gianluca Mancini and Roger Ibañez with unshakable composure. His performance not only secured Sevilla's seventh Europa League title but also earned him the Man of the Match award.
