TDP conclave ‘Mahanadu' begins in Jagan bastion, Kadapa
With the event expected to draw over five lakh people over three days, thousands of party workers poured into Kadapa from across the state as the city turned into a sea of yellow with TDP flags, banners, and hoardings adorning streets, buildings, and junctions.
The 'Mahanadu' will kick off with the inauguration of a photo exhibition, blood donation camps, party flag hoisting, and tributes to party founder N T Rama Rao, followed by an inaugural address by CM Naidu. He will also set the tone for three days of introspection, celebration, and strategic direction.
The party will release six resolutions, designed to set the party's ideological and administrative vision for the future.
The conclave will also see the formal launch of the 'My TDP App', which will provide a digital platform to connect the party's top leadership with its grassroots workers. The app will help track performance, share updates, and reward active participation, making it a central tool for internal coordination and public outreach.
On May 28, the conclave will see in-depth discussions on 14 key draft resolutions, ahead of the NDA alliance government in the state completing its first year in power. The resolutions cover governance achievements and vision-based initiatives, including the government's accomplishments in the last year, work done on accelerated irrigation projects, including river interlinking and Godavari water to Banakacharla, the development of the capital city, Amaravati, etc.
It will also include discussions on education reforms, women and youth empowerment, power sector reforms, turning agriculture profitable using technology, and strengthening law and order by cracking down on the mafia.
Naidu's vision of a welfare state through inclusive governance by uplifting the backward classes, Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and minorities, and Reddy's alleged 'failure as Opposition leader' will also be debated.
Deliberations will also be held on infrastructure growth, a P4 model programme to build a poverty-free society, and the Swarnandhra Vision@2047.
Earlier, Union minister and Srikakulam MP Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu had described Mahanadu as a 'major festival that unites the Telugu Desam Party family' and urged all 'Pasupu Sainyam (TDP cadre)' to participate in large numbers and celebrate the 2024 victory that has redefined political equations in the state.

Former YSRCP government didn't pay Andhra Pradesh's share of crop insurance, says Union Agriculture Minister Chouhan
The Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojna (PMFBY), the crop insurance scheme of the Union Government, had to be revamped owing to the non-cooperation of certain State governments, particularly the erstwhile YSRCP-led government in Andhra Pradesh, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday (July 29, 2025). Mr. Chouhan said the then Andhra Pradesh government failed to pay the State's share of the premium for the insurance for three years. Responding to a question from an MP from Rajasthan, Hanuman Beniwal, Mr. Chouhan said the Centre had mandated that farmers' claims would he paid in 21 days. 'Some States announced that they would pay the farmer insurance premium themselves. However, Andhra Pradesh didn't contribute the State's share towards premium, due to which farmers suffered and couldn't get insurance,' he said. Considering this bad experience, the Centre modified the policy and decided to pay its share of insurance even if the State government does not pay, he said. PM-Kisan fund release On Wednesday (July 30, 2025), Mr. Chouhan announced that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release the 20th instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) on Saturday (August 2, 2025). Mr. Chouhan chaired a high-level meeting in New Delhi on Wednesday (July 30, 2025) to review the preparations for the event, which will be held in Varanasi. 'Since the launch of the scheme in 2019, ₹3.69 lakh crore has been transferred to farmers' accounts through 19 instalments. In the 20th instalment, ₹20,500 crore will be transferred to 9.7 crore farmers,' a government release said. The Directors and vice-chancellors of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and agricultural universities, as well as the heads of 731 Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) virtually attended the meeting.

A.P. teacher unions call for State-wide protest against ‘neglect' of their issues on August 2
Leaders of the Federation of Andhra Pradesh Teachers' Organisations (FAPTO) have decided to stage state-wide protests on August 2, seeking immediate solutions to the issues faced by teachers in the State. The decision to stage the protests at Collectorates across the State was taken at a meeting held in the federation's office in Kurnool on Wednesday (July 30). State general secretary of Andhra Pradesh Primary Teachers Association (APTA) and State co-chairman of federation K. Prakash Rao said that even after a year of the TDP-led coalition government assuming power in the State, no significant step was taken to resolve the issue of pending payments to employees and teachers. He said the teachers who were recently promoted or transferred had not received salaries for past two months and despite repeated appeals, the authorities remained indifferent. He urged teachers across the State to participate in the protests in large numbers. State president of Andhra Pradesh Teachers Federation (APTF-1938) and State committee member of FAPTO G. Hrudayaraju said teachers were being burdened with non-teaching activities, leaving them with little time for classroom teaching. He said the authorities should prioritise and respect the teaching time. He also demanded that the government immediately release the pending arrears, formulate the 12th Pay Revision Commission and announce Interim Relief. FAPTO chairman for Kurnool district Seva Lal Naik, secretary general G. Bhaskar, United Teachers' Federation's Kurnool district president Ravi Kumar, general secretary Naveen Patil, State Teachers' Union's Kurnool district president Gokari, general secretary Janardhan and others were present at the meeting.
