'What a journey it has been since our opening night, when nearly everything that could go wrong did go wrong,' Herritt said. 'The air conditioning failed, equipment broke down, and yet somehow, thanks to your support, the restaurant came to life and has continued to thrive.'
'Over the years, we've celebrated countless milestones together — from newlyweds and anniversaries to the graduations of the children who first came here in strollers,' he continued. 'Watching your families grow has been one of the greatest joys of this work.'

On the origin of the '7-11' nickname for Boston Celtics stars Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum

Once, in a more innocent era for the two Boston Celtics superstar forwards, Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum had a different nickname than one often hears for them now. Today's Fire and Ice was once known as "7/11," a nod to the jerseys worn by the two Celtics swingmen in that era (Brown wore and still wears jersey No. 7, and Tatum wore 11 back then before switching to his current jersey No. 0). Dating from their debut in Las Vegas Summer League back in 2017 -- ancient history by now, but a fun window into their past -- the folks behind the "NBC Sports Boston" YouTube channel put together a clip looking back at the nickname earlier this summer. Narrated by NBC Sports Boston reporter Chris Forsberg, the clip dives into those halcyon days when the dup cribbed the name of a popular convenience store for their collective identity (we think they landed with the right nickname later on, though). Indie rock band surprises young patients with mini-concert at Mass. hospital

After playing the Newport Folk Festival this past weekend, Mt. Joy made a pitstop in Boston to perform for young hospital patients. The indie rock band surprised patients, families and staff at Mass General Brigham for Children with a miniature concert on Monday evening, July 28. The band — consisting of vocalist Matt Quinn, guitarist Sam Cooper, drummer Sotiris Eliopoulos, keyboardist Jackie Miclau and bassist Michael Byrnes — played several songs including 'Highway Queen.' The visit was made possible by the nonprofit Family Reach. The organization works with Mass General Cancer Center to support patients facing the financial challenges of cancer treatment.
