The accused — Pushpendra (23), a final year BPharma student from Laxmi Garden in Sector 11; Rohit (22), a final year BPharma student from Raisina village, Bhondsi; Tarun (25), a final year BA student from Harsaru village; and Chetan (19), a Class XII passout and resident of Sector 84 — were arrested from Sector 81.
The police also seized two vehicles — a Mercedes and a Scorpio — which were used for the dangerous stunt near Bajghera police station, putting many lives at risk.
The video had surfaced around 10 days back.
The video showed the accused performing stunts in broad daylight. The accused were seen sitting on the car roofs. The Scorpio driver was seen driving with an open door of the vehicle with loud music playing in the background.
The accused have sought a public apology while in police custody. In a video released by the city police, all the accused were seen admitting their mistake and appealing to the public not to perform such stunts. Police said Tarun was sitting on the moving Scorpio in the video, while Chetan was standing through the sunroof and also shot the stunt videos.

Pinnacle finial stolen from Sarkhej Roza mausoleum dome
Ahmedabad: A theft was reported at the historic Sarkhej Roza site on Tuesday when caretakers found that a copper-brass kalash (pinnacle finial) and decorative leaf from the dome atop the main mausoleum of Sheikh Ahmed 'Ganj Baksh' Khattu (R A) missing. According to the FIR filed with Sarkhej police on Wednesday, the estimated weight of the stolen items is around 6kg and is valued at approximately Rs 1,700. Nizam Harikhan Siddiqui, secretary of the Sarkhej Roza Committee, filed the police complaint. He stated that the site is maintained under the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), while the committee assists with caretaking and security. The theft was discovered around 9.45am by ASI sanitation worker Najirkhan Bashirkhan Pathan. A rope was also found hanging at the rear side of the mausoleum, suggesting possible unauthorized access. They found no suspicious activity during the night but noticed the missing items the next morning. After a preliminary search yielded no results, the committee contacted police. Abrar Ali Saiyed, chairman of the Sarkhej Roza Committee told TOI, "Since the Roza is a protected site under ASI, we had requested the govt body for appointing security guards at the site."

Medical store owner among three held for smuggling of oxytocin
1 2 3 Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force on Wednesday busted an inter-state oxytocin smuggling racket, arresting three people, including a medical store owner, and seizing approximately 5.87 lakh ml of illegally packed oxytocin worth Rs 1.20 crore from the Kakori police station area. According to STF officials, Anmol Pal, a BPharma graduate and resident of Mayapuram, Budheshwar, runs a medical store. "Using his pharmaceutical knowledge and access, Anmol began sourcing high-density oxytocin from Bihar, falsely labelled as mineral water. He allegedly used his medical store as a front while setting up supply routes and illegal packaging units in a rented house near Mohan Road," said STF officials. To expand operations, Anmol brought in Awadhesh Pal, a resident of Budheshwar Model City, who assisted in bottling and repackaging the drug. Khageshwar, a driver from Sitapur, was hired to transport the illegal consignments across districts in a mini-truck. The STF team intercepted the trio on July 2 at 11:10 am near Budheshwar Chauraha–Mohan Road under Kakori police station limits. During the operation, 5,87,880 ml of oxytocin, one mini-truck, three mobile phones, Rs 12,000 in cash, 800 empty vials, 136 rubber caps, 40 aluminum seals, and other miscellaneous items were seized. Additional SP, STF, Amit Nagar said the gang repackaged oxytocin into smaller ampoules before distributing them in Lucknow and adjoining districts. The drug, a Schedule H hormone, is illegally used to stimulate milk production in cattle and accelerate artificial growth in fruits and vegetables — posing serious risks to public health. An FIR has been registered at Kakori police station under Sections 318(4), 280, 276, and 112 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Man held for setting father-in-law's car on fire, demanding money
Ludhiana: The man who made an extortion call to a Nirankari Mohalla-based businessman turned out to be his son-in-law. The accused, Tarun Kumar , claimed to be a member of the "Pandit gang." He also confessed to having married businessman Satish Jain 's daughter for money. Satish Jain filed a complaint saying that three masked men set his bike on fire early on June 20. He added that two days later, his son received a WhatsApp call from an individual claiming responsibility for the arson and demanding Rs 5 lakh. The caller threatened Jain, asking him to pay up if he wanted his family's safety. Police said that Tarun Kumar wanted to open a business and resorted to threats and extortion to obtain funds. In 2022, Jain's daughter eloped to marry Kumar. Unhappy with the marriage, Jain cut ties with his daughter and son-in-law. ASI Dharminder Kumar, in-charge of Miller Gunj Police Post, said that CCTV camera footage captured three masked men setting the car on fire. Jain expressed the suspicion that one of the assailants resembled his son-in-law. Investigation revealed that Tarun was in Ludhiana on the night of June 19-20, which led to his arrest. His two aides are at large. Tarun confessed to the crime, admitting that he married Jain's daughter for financial gain. He explained that they lived in a rented accommodation in Noida and struggled without steady employment. Tarun plotted the extortion, believing that he would be easily intimidated. Police said that Tarun used a stolen mobile number from Delhi to make the extortion call. A case was registered under sections 125 (acts endangering the life or personal safety of others) and 308 (2) (extortion) of the BNS has been registered at Division Number 6 police station.
