Duke basketball makes confident Cooper Flagg claim before NBA Draft
Duke basketball made a confident social media post about Cooper Flagg ahead of the NBA Draft. The Blue Devils are coming off a stellar third season under head coach Jon Scheyer. The past year's team finished with a record of 35-4, winning the ACC regular season and conference tournament championships en route to a No. 1 seed in the Big Dance. Duke subsequently made it to the Final Four, where its season ended in an epic clash against Houston.

While it may not have been the ending Jon Scheyer and company wanted, the Blue Devils' head coach has this program back to its healthy, championship-contending ways. And the main reason Duke basketball was able to put together this special season was due to former No. 1 overall recruit Cooper Flagg. The Newport, Maine native lived up to the hype and then some, becoming the first freshman since Zion Williamson to win the Naismith College Player of the Year award.
Flagg now heads into the draft as the heavy favorite to be the No. 1 overall pick, and Duke basketball believes that is a given in a recent post on Twitter when Cooper visited the program for a youth camp.
Next season's Blue Devils team has large shoes to fill after the success of Cooper Flagg and company. Fortunately, Jon Scheyer has assembled another elite recruiting class, headlined by the Boozer twins. Cameron and Cayden are five-star recruits who should be immediate stars on this roster. Duke basketball also returns a few contributors from this past season's team, including Caleb Foster, Maliq Brown, and Isaiah Evans. Evans, in particular, has All-American potential, so his coming back to Durham is critical for this program.

In addition, Jon Scheyer made a huge transfer portal splash, adding Washington State standout Cedric Coward. Duke basketball may not have the high-level talent that the Cooper Flagg squad did, but this team could be built for an even deeper NCAA Tournament run if this group builds the necessary chemistry. It would be par for the course with Scheyer's tenure should the Blue Devils continue going further in the Big Dance.
Overall, it wasn't all that bold for Duke basketball to make this claim. A lot would have to go wrong for Cooper Flagg not to be the No. 1 pick in this upcoming draft. The 18-year-old is a generational talent and will be the consensus favorite to win Rookie of the Year for the 2025-26 NBA season. And Flagg has brought Duke basketball back to where it belongs. It's up to Schyer to continue this momentum in Durham.

No. 1 overall NBA Draft pick Cooper Flagg signs rookie contract with Dallas Mavericks
The Dallas Mavericks have signed No. 1 overall draft pick Cooper Flagg to his four-year rookie contract, the team announced Wednesday. The team didn't disclose details in announcing Flagg's deal, but the total value of the contract for the top pick on the 2025-26 rookie wage scale is in the range of $62.7 million, with a first-year salary of about $13.8 million, according to Spotrac. Those numbers can fluctuate slightly. Flagg said during his introductory news conference last week that he intends to play in the Summer League in Las Vegas later this month. The Mavericks' Summer League opener against the Los Angeles Lakers and Bronny James is set to be nationally televised on July 10. "I'm excited to give him the ball against the [Los Angeles] Lakers and see what happens," Mavs head coach Jason Kidd said. The 18-year-old from Duke became the fourth freshman to win The Associated Press national player of the year honors in the 64-year history of the award. Flagg led the Blue Devils to the Final Four in his only season. A new era for the Dallas Mavericks The addition of Flagg should help Mavericks fans turn the page on the Luka Doncic era. Less than five months before the NBA Draft, the Mavericks stunned the basketball world by sending Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for a package that included Davis, guard Max Christie and a 2029 first-round draft pick. There was a sense of pessimism around the team, but that all changed on May 12. The Mavericks won the NBA Draft Lottery, despite having just a 1.8% chance, and with it the opportunity to select Flagg.

Kai Cenat & Crew Take Over Tony Parker's Texas Mansion For ‘AMP Summer' Streaming Marathon
Source: Slaven Vlasic / Getty Kai Cenat already has Gen Z on the edge of their computer chairs, and isn't letting up with his latest streaming event. His next big venture has been dubbed the AMP Summer, and he announced it via a trailer a few days ago. Set in the sweltering Texas desert, the AMP (Any Means Possible) crew, consisting of him, Duke Dennis, Chrisnxtdoor, Fanum and ImDavisss in their broken-down RV. Agent00 narrates the crew attempting to fix their ride when T-Pain arrives on horseback to offer them a nearby crib to stream from that's outfitted with a 24-hour restaurant, two basketball courts, and a waterpark where they promise to stream for 12 hours daily for a month, officially kicking off at 1 p.m. on July 1. Since they're in the Lone Star State, there's no better way to kick off the marathon than by hanging out with Texas legend and former San Antonio Spurs star Tony Parker. Upon arrival, the four-time NBA champion shows the AMP crew around his estate, showcasing his superhero memorabilia, what he calls his 'secret championship room,' which features all the sports goods from his storied NBA career, and the 24-hour Nando's restaurant in the backyard. With as many hijinks and guests the AMP squad gets involved with, they'll need a lot of space for their antics, and the championship-worthy home should be plenty big. Spanning 53 total acres, the property features a private water park, including lazy rivers, and boasts 10 bedrooms, eight bathrooms, and four half bathrooms. The house also features a nearly 6,000-square-foot gym, a tennis court, an outdoor volleyball court, a basketball court, and a wine room that can accommodate up to 1,500 bottles. Parker listed the compound for $16.5 million in 2024, but the former Spur clearly hasn't found anyone interested in taking it off his hands. Parker even hung out with the streamers in the home's restaurant, telling them about the time Kobe Bryant learned French to trash-talk him during the playoffs. 'It didn't work, but mad respect he learned the language,' Parker said. The streaming has already commenced with Cenat revealing his setup for the entirety of July, which is literally a super-sized version of his Atlanta home, including the white walls and greyscale leopard carpet. There's even a massive computer chair placed in front of his desk that's so large several members of the crew can sit comfortably as their feet dangle. See social media's response to Cenat's latest streaming move below. Kai Cenat & Crew Take Over Tony Parker's Texas Mansion For 'AMP Summer' Streaming Marathon was originally published on

Nebraska forward Juwan Gary signs with Los Angeles Clippers for NBA Summer League
Former Nebraska basketball forward Juwan Gary will play with the Los Angeles Clippers' summer league team. This was announced by HuskerOnline's Robin Washut earlier this week. Gary averaged 14.4 points per game and 5.1 rebounds per game for Nebraska last season. He started in all 34 games for Nebraska and was able to finish off what was a stellar Huskers career. All told, he recorded 12.5 points to go along with 5.8 rebounds in three seasons at Nebraska. Now, he is getting a chance to show his talents at an NBA level, with Summer League action officially beginning on Saturday. Gary's game could translate well to the NBA. His solid defensive skills, as well as his ability to hit the mid-range jumper, could prove valuable to a team looking for additional scoring. His physicality and ability to finish around the rim could also help teams fortify their production inside the paint.
