Muscat Municipality said: 'It is expected that Al Khuwair Square will become a prominent landmark in Muscat Governorate, with its sustainable and environmentally friendly elements, inspired by Omani identity. It will also be an ideal destination for recreation and practicing outdoor sports activities, as it contains modern facilities that meet the aspirations of the community.'
The project spans an area of more than 21,000 square meters and, in addition to the towering flagpole, features various recreational facilities, including landscaped green spaces of 9000
square meters, with 57 type of trees, dedicated walking and cycling paths, an open-air art and handicraft exhibition, a skateboarding area, and a sports zone.
The site is also equipped with public amenities such as restrooms and a parking lot with 107 spaces.

Abu Dhabi: Etihad Airways achieved a significant milestone in its fleet expansion programme with July 2025 becoming the busiest month for aircraft deliveries in the airline's 22-year history. The delivery programme reflects Etihad's strategic approach to fleet modernisation, with each aircraft type serving specific network requirements. The Boeing 787 Dreamliner will support long-haul operations to destinations across Asia, Australia, and North America, while the Airbus A350-1000 will enhance capacity on high-demand routes. A particular highlight of July's deliveries was Etihad's first Airbus A321LR, which represents a significant milestone as the airline's inaugural aircraft of this type. Etihad defines luxury again with a revolutionary cabin configuration to Etihad's narrowbody operations, featuring dedicated First Suites alongside lie-flat Business seats, a first for narrowbody aircraft in the region, and enhanced Economy seating with seatback entertainment - bringing premium in-flight experiences to medium and short-haul routes. The deliveries bring Etihad's total fleet to 106 aircraft. The airline operates one of the world's youngest fleets, with an average aircraft age of 8.7 years, supporting operational efficiency and enhanced passenger experience. The aircraft deliveries support Etihad's recently announced network expansion, which includes 27 new destinations and increased frequencies across existing routes. The airline has experienced remarkable growth, carrying more than 20 million passengers in the last 12 months for the first time in its history, doubling passenger numbers from 2022 levels. Etihad's fleet expansion programme continues beyond July, with 20 additional aircraft per annum expected for delivery throughout 2025 and 2026. Al Dakhiliyah Governorate awards over OMR3mn in development projects
Nizwa: The Internal Tenders Committee at the Al Dakhiliyah Governor's Office, during its recent meeting, approved the awarding of several tenders related to municipal development projects, with a total cost exceeding OMR3 million. This move is part of the governorate's continuous efforts to enhance infrastructure and improve the efficiency of municipal services across its various wilayats. The approved projects include the implementation of the first phase of the Jebel Shams tourist waterfront development project in Al Hamra Wilayat. This initiative is considered a qualitative step aimed at strengthening the tourism infrastructure in one of Oman's most prominent natural destinations. Additionally, the committee approved the project for designing and implementing internal roads in Al Qabidhiya area of Bahla Wilayat, with the goal of improving the internal road network and facilitating movement within residential areas. Another approved project is the supply and installation of lighting poles at the Izki Commercial Market in Izki Wilayat, which aims to enhance public safety, improve the commercial environment, and support local economic activity.

Underwater photography workshop held in Musandam Governorate
Khasab: The Musandam Governor's Office on Wednesday organised a professional underwater photography workshop in Khasab Wilayat. The workshop saw the participation of numerous divers and photographers interested in documenting marine life, reflecting a convergence of art, environment, and tourism. The workshop is part of the governorate's preparations for the upcoming Musandam International Diving Festival, scheduled from 25-28 August. He highlighted Musandam's astonishing marine diversity and rich waters as an ideal setting for developing specialized photography skills, especially underwater.
