The CT Barber Expo Lived Up To 'Mecca Of Men's Grooming' Hype
The CT Barber Expo touts itself as the 'mecca of men's grooming showcases' and they certainly made a solid case for that level of confidence. Running from Saturday, May 17 through Sunday, May 19, 2025 at the Mohegan Sun Resort & Casino in Uncasville, Connecticut, the event included a Barber Grammys the first night, followed by a couple of days of educational seminars in the mornings and the expo proper during the rest of the day.

The showfloor in the Mohegan Sun's Earth Ballroom was filled with brands familiar to those in the barber and grooming industry (or those who keep themselves looking sharp); like Wahl, Andis, Cocco and BaBylissPRO. As attendees walked the showfloor, they were met with vendors hawking their wares (from 'units' to clippers to barber capes to streetwear) as well as plenty of demonstrations from barbers sharing techniques and insights to their success. The latest tools of the trade (clippers, sheers, chairs, etc.) were available for sale while the latest essential for grooming (weak beards were few and far between) also caught plenty of floor space.
As both professionals, amateurs and the curious took in the atmosphere, the vibes were all positive and celebratory. After about an hour, it also meant people loaded down with bags full of the aforementioned tools snapped up from vendors offering them up at sale prices.
To the rear was the stage, where the spirited Barber Battle competition went down and we caught a glimpse of expo regular Fat Joe holding court on Sunday. Even Noreaga was in town and got cleaned up.
Founded by Jay Raposo aka 'Majors,' the CT Barber Expo reportedly kicked off in 2011 in a nightclub and has only been growing since, developing into a can't miss trade show for the barber industry. It's worth a visit to learn, politic and take in the good vibes—just like a cherished barbershop, but on a much bigger scale.

Pair These Autumn Winter Boots To Your Summer Mini Dress For A Cool Girl Outfit Recipe
Summer may not be over yet, but I've already got one eye keenly set on Autumn's sartorial horizon. As the heatwave abates, knee high boots and chore jackets are singing their siren song, though, I'm not quite ready to give up my summer dresses yet. Thankfully, according to Alexa Chung, I don't need to. The broadcaster and style icon has worn multiple iterations of a knee high boot (namely Celine's patent version) plus nightie mini dress (Dôen's Cecilia dress in particular) outfit recipe over summer and I find it very charming. Hero-ing a key trend of the summer - the nightie dress - and adding a 1960s, Françoise Hardy-esque vibe with the boots, Chung ensured her flimsy minis could withstand the every-changing Great British summer. I tried the combination myself, wearing a vintage nightdress I've had shortened with my Dear Frances boots, adding a vintage Mulberry bag and an &Daughter vest for the temperate weather. Chloé's recent Resort collection also features a similar look - with a pair of brown, over-the-knee, heeled boots styled with a silk, lace-trimmed slip-style nightie dress. The pairing is an easy way to make your nightie mini work harder: extending its life from summer into autumn and offering a more polished feel. Music Icon, 54, Admits to ‘Problem' While Drinking 30-40 Pepsi's Daily
Music Icon, 54, Admits to 'Problem' While Drinking 30-40 Pepsi's Daily originally appeared on Parade. If Diet Pepsi only has one fan, it's Fat Joe because the rapper drinks '30 to 40' of the beverages daily. 'And I don't know how safe that is. I'm not a doctor. I don't give a f--k. I drink too many Diet Pepsi, a lot, you know what I'm saying?' Fat Joe, 54, confessed during the Tuesday, July 22, episode of the 'Joe and Jada' podcast. 'Very, very much – I got a problem. [I drink] 30, 40 a day.' The 'Lean Back' artist's confession visibly shocked his co-host, rapper Jadakiss. Nonetheless, Fat Joe stood ten toes down on his love for Diet Pepsi. 'If I went to the doctor, God forbid, and they told me, 'Yo, you have a problem due to Diet Pepsi.' I gotta take the shit on the chin,' he continued. 'I gotta just be like. I knew I was just doing too much with them Diet Pepsis, right? They're not stopping me.' Fat Joe served four months in prison on tax evasion charges in 2013. While incarcerated, his Diet Pepsi fix was not neglected. 'I was in jail with 11,000 Diet Pepsis. Imagine you in jail. You can't have nothing else, but Diet Pepsis are legal,' he said. 'Holy s--t, that's like you were cigarettes.' Complex shared a clip of the moment via Instagram the following day, sparking concern over the 'What's Luv' rapper's health. 'I love sodas but that's too many friend!' one fan wrote in the comments section of the post. A second person commented, 'I don't drink that much water a day let alone soda.' Fat Joe has lost over 250 pounds over the years while trying to live a healthier lifestyle. 'We just try to eat everything with the least carbs as possible … so we try to stay away from the bread, the pasta, the rice. That's the smartest way to eat,' the Grammy-nominated rapper told Us Weekly in October 2021, while admitting to taking Ozempic to help stay on track. 🎬 SIGN UP for Parade's Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox 🎬 Music Icon, 54, Admits to 'Problem' While Drinking 30-40 Pepsi's Daily first appeared on Parade on Jul 23, 2025 This story was originally reported by Parade on Jul 23, 2025, where it first appeared.
