Joey Janela responds to accusations after fans claim GCW drugged WWE legend Sabu before last match
Former
WWE legend Sabu
passed away at 60, just a few weeks after playing his final retirement bout during WrestleMania 41 week. His untimely demise on May 11, 2025, has sent shockwaves across the wrestling universe, leaving fans mourning at the heartbreaking news.
Before breathing his last, Sabu breathed in his final match during the WrestleMania weekend. He played the final bout of his retirement match with
GCW
star Joey Janela on April 18, 2025.
The farewell match, however, did not turn out the way Sabu might have expected it to be. In his farewell match, the legend had to face a defeat at the hands of Janela in the main event of the ninth annual Joey Janela's Spring Break. The videos of the match showed a bloodied face Sabu leaving the ring with a heavy heart.
But his celebratory send-off became a major controversial topic as fans have reportedly accused Joey Janela and GCW promoter Brett Lauderdale of letting Sabu wrestle under the influence of kratom, which is a legal but controversial substance often used for pain relief. To this accusation, Janela has responded promptly, dismissing the accusation.

Joey Janela dismisses accusations after fans claim Sabu was drugged before his match
After fans accused Joey Janela and GCW of letting Sabu play under the influence of kratom, Joey Janela has dismissed the accusations, immediately denying that GCW was responsible for giving Sabu the drug kratom. He said Sabu's team supplied the substance and insisted that using kratom is common and legal in the wrestling business.
Taking to his 'X' account, Joey Janela has dismissed allegations, stating that 'We didn't give him kratom his team did, it's also not illegal and 85% of professional wrestlers do it especially the ones on TV. So f** you.'
Janela further added, 'Sabu was a grown man, he did what he had to do to get out there. I took care of him to the best of my ability, I didn't think what happened halfway through would happen, it was all to get him one great payday and one last shine in the spotlight. That night wasn't about me, it was about Sabu, and I wouldn't change a thing.'
Previously, during an interview, Janela claimed that Sabu was given kratom to help him get through the match, which helped him aid his recovery from opiates. Janela's comments painted a controversial picture, suggesting that Sabu needed the substance to perform in the match.
It was noted that Janela allegedly said, 'embellished some elements of the match itself to add to the 'lore' of Sabu,' and that the interview took place shortly after the match itself. This comment did not go well with his fans, and they called out the player for his comments.

Fans continue to troll and accuse GCW and Joey Janela
A fan took to his X handle and called out GCW and Janela for risking Sabu's health for the show. The fan said, 'So GCW/Brett drugged Sabu, knowing he was unable to wrestle that night or at least having issues in the name of making 2,000 fans happy rather than prioritizing a f***** old retired legend's health. I'm SO f****** disappointed to ever support GCW and buy tickets to their shows.'
Another fan claimed, 'So your excuse for letting a drugged up legend who couldn't walk go out was 'he was a grown man.' Joey I love you but please just take the blame and say sorry for this s** man. F*** the 'spotlight,' his health comes first.'
Meanwhile, a fan came out in support of Joey, stating facts about using kratom. The user said, "Kratom is used as a supplement, people use it to shake off opiate sickness more than it is any kind of hardcore drug. OP here acting like you're a dope pusher when this shit is relatively benign herbal supplement over here. Come on.'

LeBron James cosigns Tyler, the Creator's surprise album Don't Tap the Glass in an unexpected move
LeBron James co-signed Tyler, the Creator's album (Image via Getty Images) During his performance at the Barclays Centre, Tyler, the Creator shocked his audience by revealing his latest studio album, Don't Tap the Glass. He later uploaded the same on his Instagram. Meanwhile, the NBA legend LeBron James later posted the same on his Instagram Story. Additionally, he also co-signed the brand-new record, Don't Tap the Glass, last week. LeBron James surprises fans by backing Tyler, the Creator's latest release on Instagram Don't Tap the Glass, Tyler, the Creator's ninth studio album, will be released on Monday, July 21, 2025. He made the revelation during a recent show. The crowd was ecstatic when he casually revealed the album title at his Brooklyn gig on Friday. He uploaded the same on his Instagram with the caption: 'TOMORROW… 6am EST… DONT TAP THE GLASS..' The post was later shared by NBA legend LeBron James on his Instagram Story. He recently co-signed the new album Don't Tap the Glass, demonstrating his respect for the creator. As soon as the post was uploaded, it swiftly went viral. Although the two legends have acknowledged one another before, this serves as a stark reminder of how their influence transcends all sectors. The singer, however, has a clear philosophy that explains why he favors early-week releases. As per Complex, he explained his point of view in an interview with Nardwuar in 2023. He claimed: 'I think we should put music out again on Tuesdays instead of Fridays, for some reasons.. My reasoning is, I know people think because of the weekend, they can listen to stuff, and the streams go up. And the streaming people are like, 'Oh, the streams go up on the weekend!' But I think it's a lot of passive listening, at parties or people get the time to go to the gym, so they're not really listening.' LeBron James is an NBA icon (Image via Getty Images) He added: 'To work on an album for so long and put so much energy into it and for it to be released at midnight…just seems so disrespectful.' This evolving relationship between LeBron James and Tyler, the Creator, showcases how artists and athletes amplify each other's cultural influence. Whether or not they have official collaborations planned, the singer's presence in the NBA icon's orbit speaks volumes. Stefon Diggs deletes all Instagram posts amid Cardi B breakup rumors
Stefon Diggs Quietly Wiped His Entire Instagram (Image via Getty) While Cardi B's IG purge had gossip blogs screaming 'breakup,' Stefon Diggs might've pulled the biggest stunt of all and somehow, everyone missed it. Yup, the NFL star's Instagram feed is completely empty. Zero posts. Total blackout. And no one's talking about it. Stefon Diggs has wiped his entire Instagram, and fans are just now catching up While Cardi B's dramatic breakup cleanup sparked headlines across social media, Diggs has gone full ghost mode and barely anyone noticed. His IG profile? Totally wiped. Not a single post. Not even a selfie. And yes, we checked. Stefon Diggs Just Erased His Entire Instagram This isn't a case of a few photos being deleted, Diggs's account is sitting at a hard 0 posts. That's the type of cleanse usually reserved for album drops, public apologies, or celebrity rebrands. The only twist? Stefon's an NFL wide receiver and this level of drama is usually Cardi's territory. Cardi B deleted every trace of Diggs first but only one of them made headlines To rewind a bit, Cardi B scrubbed all her loved-up pics with Stefon Diggs from Instagram earlier this month. They had gone IG official in June, flexing couple-y yacht photos, kissy snaps in Europe, and a now-infamous manicure spelling out Diggs's name. It all vanished in a single purge. The internet naturally assumed the worst: cheating rumors, Offset subposts, and even that bizarre 'BBL smell' accusation took over the timeline. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Tennis takes over in July Tennis TV Watch Now Undo Meanwhile, Diggs? Quietly archived or deleted everything. Let's not forget: Cardi's the queen of the social media purge Cardi's pulled this move before, erasing her grid ahead of new singles or to distance herself from Offset-era drama. Fans know her pattern. But Diggs doing the same? That's new territory. Also, Offset called the IG wipe 'demonic.' Antonio Brown jumped in with shady 'smelly' comments. Diggs has stayed completely silent and honestly, that silence is screaming louder than any diss track. So are they broken up or just deleting the drama? They still follow each other. They were seen working out together after the initial split rumors. But now, with both of them scrubbing their grids clean, the vibe is complicated. Still following Cardi B If they're still together, this could be a social media power play. If not, then Diggs just made his own breakup statement without saying a word. And it's very Cardi-coded. Forget touchdowns, Diggs just finessed the biggest Instagram ghosting of 2025. Whether it's heartbreak or hard launch strategy, the fact that no one noticed his full IG wipe until now says a lot about how these two run the internet. In this saga, Cardi might've started the drama but Diggs just finished it with a single swipe. FAQ Q1: Did Stefon Diggs delete his Instagram? A: No, Stefon Diggs didn't delete his Instagram account, but he did wipe all of his posts. As of July 2025, his profile shows zero posts, sparking speculation about his relationship with Cardi B. Q2: Are Stefon Diggs and Cardi B still dating? A: It's unclear. Cardi B deleted all photos of Diggs from her Instagram, and Diggs wiped his entire profile. However, they still follow each other and were recently spotted together, leaving fans confused about their current status. Q3: Has Stefon Diggs responded to the Cardi B breakup rumors ? A: No, Diggs has remained silent publicly. He hasn't addressed the cheating rumors or Cardi's Instagram purge but his full IG wipe is fueling speculation.
